wow. I kind of stopped paying attention to Dread runs a little while after invincibility was patched. really cool to see that a different method of skew was found, and you can basically do the same route and more still. Also no more navigating a ton of rooms blind seems better.
Loved this video format! I've watched several speedruns of dread here on TH-cam but last time I watched they were still in the 1:10 range, and it's great to have the summary of strats and glitches here.

For those interested to the skip raven beak route. Here is the route. Before entering Ferenia to collect space jump from Hanubia. You need to wall clip the upper door in the Adam room then collect the power bomb expansion. Mention that you also need to get an extra expansion on your way to get screw attack. After getting the expansion, clip the next door and into the emmi door. Now there is a diverse in routing. If you can get invincibility, just clip the wave beam cover door. If not, you have to clip the wall right above the cover door. As keep shooting missiles while clipping, once your missile can shot the flying robots that just pop out, hold down charge a shinespark state, free aim to revert samus facing the left, aim and jump and just after pressing the buttons, release the aim button and press B to charge up your shinespark and spark right. Get power bomb. Bow up two power bomb obstacles (blocks and the tunnel) or three(power blocks after the tunnel)(if you can't do a aim down clip later in the escape sequence). Refill your power bomb ammo. Aim down clip or back flash clip to the space normally the escape sequence holds. Skew and shinespark as near as the wall that blocking your way. The wall doesn't have collision but will kill you instantly when you go too into it. Make your way to the end and beam ko rbx a.k.a. the raven beak kraid fusion. Make your way to the hyper beam door and clip your way in. Luckily if you ever lose bomuhey skew midway, you can recover back in some point. Then, the game is finished.
Why speedrunners doesn't like this route is because bomuhey skew can give you different angles for samus facing at and normally you can't wall clip without a setup. The setup is to turnaround multiple times, about 90 times. But if you fail to get the angle for wall clip after the setup. You have revert the angle by morphing and doing turnarounds all again. Yes. ALL AGAIN. And don't forget there is a time countdown during the escape sequence.
Last time i was running, the record has been 1 hour and 27 minutes or something.
Back then managed to pull off a time of 1 hour and 42 minutes myself (which shows how relatively easy all of it was to learn, compared to other games)
Now i'm back and this time has almost cut in half :o

I'm straight stuck on the first pseudo wave beam block. I can get the first three, but I can't get the fourth one for the life of me. First I was trying to get it from under the block, but that just kills you, and then I realized you were shooting from the very left of it, but I can't get it to break from that position no matter what I try. Am I doing something wrong or is it just that finicky?
Edit: nevermind I kept trying and I actually got it! It is just kinda finicky, but I managed to get both of the first skips after watching your in depth walkthrough, and I got the phantom cloak. Thank you for doing these videos!!!
Here's the easiest way to do the S+ on pro.
1. After your first run, do an NG+ A rank run on hardcore to get the infinite RPG and Ashley armor. Getting all clockwork castellans is also recommended.
2. Get an A rank in ng+ pro with the infinite RPG to unlock the Chicago Sweeper and Gas Mask.
3. Start NG pro and use the sweeper, gas mask, and primal knife (knife is not essential). I recommend picking up the Red 9. Upgrade the Red 9 and 870 as needed to get through the village. Upgrade Sweeper stopping power only.
4. Collect all treasure spinels, and complete the farm medallion, pest control, snake hunter, sell Golden egg and lunker bass, boss dog hunt, and first castle medallion favors for the merchant. Save all spinels until chapter 7.
5. Turn these in at the merchant for the exclusive upgrade ticket and get infinite ammo for the Sweeper. Sell your other guns and upgrade the Sweepers power as much as possible here.
6. To make life easier, budget money for RPGs for Verdugo, Salazar, Krauser, and Sadler. You shouldn't have trouble doing this even running straight through each level as long as you pick up most of the treasure on the main path, especially if you have the golden case upgrade. Prioritize an RPG over Sweeper power upgrades.
This is how I did it. NG pro was way less annoying this way, after the village. This also unlocks the cat ears for your handcannon run, making that much easier. The most brutal parts of this run were the cabin fight, boss dog, Bella sisters encounter, and the big cheese himself. I was just hurting for all types of ammo and grenades besides handgun ammo. Maybe keep this in mind to craft other ammo and conserve it for these fights. You can't really hold off a ton of enemies with a handgun on pro.
