In single file we're not allowed to use another file to setup bomuhey early on, so the early game is very similar to NMG categories. (For now)
This run is one of the better world records I've scored. Very good run, played almost every split close to gold, and stayed very close to my sum of best throughout. Quite happy with this. :)

Holy hell Dread speedruns have become insane. That clip to skip straight to RBX was actual insanity. Can't imagine the amount of time it takes to practice all these crazy movement tricks and clips
I was like I wonder what dread is like and seeing raven beak skipped entirely made me lose my mind, I was so blown away hahahaha

I can`t believe this is what happened to Dread speedruns o.o It`s really cool! Hilarious the amount of upgrades you can skip and that you don`t even fight Raven Beak either.
Jesus, this dude pulling off them early tricks without breaking a sweat. Meanwhile I gave up in two of the tricks that save a bit of time cuz i got frustrated 😂
Almost done with video now... wow. What an insane route. Last time i watched an unrestricted speedrun was with oats a few years back. And i thought that route was nuts. How do people figure this stuff out??

I've been following Metroid Dread speed runs long enough to remember when people joked about sub one hour runs and cross bombs were considered mandatory. It's been an absolute delight to observe the pathing completely change as insane tech like skew and shinesinks get applied everywhere. There is some incredibly crisp movement showcased here. The developers should be incredibly happy with how far runners like you are pushing this game.

Have you seen the consistent RBX Strat? Unless you were using a new Strat it’s something like shoot 42 times, charge a shot when half of samus calf disappears and then spam. There’s a video on it somewhere by Hobbit.
Ive seen it yeah, it was talked about in the speedrun discord for a while. Just to me it didnt feel any more consistent than other strats. I do have a strat that I labbed, and even that isn't fail proof.
This speedrun route has some really weird lore. Somehow two X parasites escaped Elun on their own, and didn't take over the whole planet. Quiet Robe somehow died on his own, and Raven Beak in particular became incredibly weak (so much for that 8-pack!). Samus's Metroid powers escaped her control but only partially, they didn't take over her whole suit. Did I miss anything?
We don't know what happened to 3 out of the 7 emmis. They might have survived somehow.. after all, they're made of the strongest stuff in the universe.

ok im new to these speedruns/just beat this game for my first time and then looked this up. Can someone tell me why he starts with 3 minutes IGT and 30 missiles?
Thats the timer you get when creating a fresh file for runs. New file -> watch/skip cutscenes -> Gain control of samus -> Back out.
And 30 missiles because its in rookie mode.
