She'll be angry with herself for trusting Cinder, confusion because she have to trust five of enemies.I still think she will get into a fight with Ruby and get Ruby's side of the story. You know, what makes Hush mean even more is that it was a gift. In Roman Holiday, when Trivia stole stuff that was then later paid for by her father, even though she took them, she lost ownership because he paid for them. And yet, Roman also paid for Hush and gave it to Neo. Trivia was raised with everything she was given or paid for by another never being hers, and yet with Romand and Hush, there was never such a conception. It truly was a gift that was entirely hers from someone that cared about her and her preferences as opposed to using the things given before as a means of keeping her in line.
Neo is a character I can really relate to, due to how I have also had my experiences with feeling alone at multiple points in my life. It's amazing how a character who isn't able to speak can be so lovable, relatable, and awesome. I know that I am going to really feel hurt for Neo as she experiences being alone in the other world.

This is a very relevant point imo which undermines the theory that semblances wouldn't work outside of Remnant. People of Remnant carry the magic of their semblance within them so wherever they go, it'll work (that's my interpretation). The limitation could be true for dust though (dust is a kind of magic not coupled to a living creature contrary to the magic of semblances). In order to settle this, we would need one volontary huntsman or huntress to be shiped into the Remnant's atmosphere :)
I think your evaluation of Neo's mental state is accurate... And the connection with Jaune as well. I want to add Ruby in the mix (which you likely will tackle in a future video judging by what you said in this one). Here is the puzzle I see so far: - Neo has every chance to be at a very low point mentally - Neo has been shown to be more angry than ever towards Ruby - Any RWBY Volume needs at least one antagonist - Jaune is the most likely to connect with Neo - Jaune and Ruby will have to talk about Penny at some point So here is one way I think V9 could go: because of her current low mental state, Neo's rage towards Ruby is multiplied and so Neo will be the antagonist for a large portion of V9. In parallel, Ruby and Jaune will have an emotional but heated conversation about Penny (maybe in front of Penny's body...). I have no doubt Ruby will understand Jaune's actions but not immediately, she will need some time. Meanwhile, Jaune will cross Neo's path and will try to talk her out of her rage and solitude. It will require some time here too but eventually, Jaune will calm Neo, Neo will understand that she should be mad at Cinder and not Ruby and Ruby will come to term with what happened between Jaune and Penny. Everyone will be changed and united and thus, able to leave this realm (I suspect some condition like this thanks to the tale of the Girl that fell into a magical place). We could have two trios during V9. Ruby, Jaune, Neo on one hand and Weiss, Blake and Yang on the other hand. They would connect only towards the end of the Volume.
I'm thinking that this is gonna be a volume where Neo gets some form of closure with her inner conflict. It could be that she drops the whole revenge quest and keep a temporary truce with team RWBY at least until they make it back to Remnant. Or it will probably become a Raiden vs Jetstream Sam-like fight between Ruby and Neo. Idk, literally anything could happen, that's how unpredictable this next volume is for me.
She's been slowly turning away from Salem for a while now so she'll definitely fight against Salem however like you said I don't know to what degree I have a feeling she may at one point end up going on a mission with Ruby to the point where it's just the two of them breaking into Salem's Castle so Ruby can fight Salem one on one and in order to do that she will use her siblings to mask that they're there until the fight begins kind of like Hunter x Hunter with the Chimera ant Arc enemies that were against each other are now close allies at least for a mission
Definitely buy the mental state thing, but I'm not sure about the semblances. Didn't we already see Petal Burst working normally in the Winter Vault, a similar dimension separate from Remnant? Aura and semblances after all are something internal to people of Remnant, I don't see why it would depend on them being in a particular environment.
Neo has never been a character I cared much for, but I will admit that I am curious to see what happens to Neo after Cinders betrayal and knowing that she's stuck with RWBY and Jaune. Plus, you really need to say that these things are just theories and never say "you're sure" that they will happen or that they "will" happen because no one in the FNDM does. Even you and your infinite RWBY wisdom. Also. I think Jaune will have a role to play in Neos change, but it won't be JUST him that changes her. I think it'll also have something to do with Neo seeing the friendship between RWBY and Jaune, but I do look forward to that video. Also, how about a video where you talk about the inevitable trauma Jaune will face after killing Penny? Something like that can have a major impact on a guy like Jaune. Watching this video reminded me of something I heard that goes something like “if you feel broken, remember this: how do you make a glow stick glow?” I believe that this arc will start with Neo at her lowest, but will ultimately lead to a great amount of character growth and development for her.
I would agree this being a part of Vol 9. Everyone being separated in different areas of the other realm, forced to endure loneliness and fear in unknown territory and facing the conflicts revolving around their failures and losses. It would be nice to take a break from dire action to more of the growth in the characters' arcs

Interesting points! Maybe it'll even be Jaune who comes across Hush first and then meets Neo with it? Although they do still have history from that vicious ORNJ v Neo fight in Atlas academy, but Jaune is definitely the most forgiving of them. Random question - If semblances straight up don't work in the island, do you think Neo's going to wake up with fully brown hair? I know at the start of Roman Holiday she dyes half of it pink but at another point it seems her semblance has unconsciously kept the illusion of half pink hair, so I wonder if it's still dyed or just relies on semblance now?
Neo being with the group is honestly what I’m most excited about. I really hope Jaune is the one that helps her, that can be an interesting dynamic. Everyone who fell into this world has lost someone. Ruby and Yang lost their mother. Weiss, while she doesn’t know it yet, just lost her father. Blake lost Adam, and she actually killed him herself. Jaune lost Pyrrah and just killed Penny with his own weapon. And then there’s Neo who lost Roman.
Let's face it the writers aren't going to do shit with Neo. The only reason they brought her back is because she's pretty popular (don't know why though). After reading v7 and v8 commentary they have no plan for her. They might kill her off to save time and money if they have any of it.
Thats a really interesting theory, I agree. Losing Hush might be what breaks her. Maybe that's why she attacked Ruby with such ferocity as they were falling? I don't see Jaune reaching out to Neo though. Not at all. He assisted Penny in her suicide. He only had to do that because Cinder and Neo attacked them as they were evacuating Atlas and Mantle. It might have been possible for him to form a connection with Neo over the similarities of their grief before he was forced into such a terrible postition, but now? With the blood of a friend on his hands because of her and Cinder? I don't see how it could happen. Unless he hyper focusses on Cinder as the root of all evil or something. I think Ruby will become the fifth wheel in volume 9. Yang and Blake are going to have their reunion, maybe even progress their relationship to actually be an official relationship. Weiss will support Jaune. They were the ones that were left behind to hold the line, who watched their friends 'die' and were forced to do the unthinkable. Ruby is the leader who's plans all fell apart in the end, got her sister 'killed' and saw two of the relics fall into Cinder's hands. Neo is the antagonist who's lost the one thing she cared about, been betrayed and failed to get her revenge time and time again. As such, I think the one to reach out to Neo will be Ruby. It makes sense, she is more closely tied to her storyline after all. How depends on the direction they take Neo in. Redemption, 'Enemy of My Enemy' or a villian to overcome?🤔
I think Jaune will understand that Neo's another victim of Cinder's manipulation, just like Emerald was. And now that I think about, Neo doesn't know what truly happened to Torchwich, does she ? She might believe that it truly was Ruby who killed him and not a grimm.

Emerald was rescuing Oscar when they met inside Monstra, and Ren was there to reveal her emotions to the team which helped them understand her motivations. Emerald only turned against Salem, we still don't know how she will react to being faced with Cinder herself. Emerald also showed regret for her actions, Neo never has. Jaune has only met Neo in person and up close once, during the fight when she stole the lamp from them. She was all smiles and playful gestures the entire time she decimated JNR. If he saw her on the walkway it was from a distance and relentlessly attacking Ruby. She never seemed to be against what Cinder was doing. He might have seen Cinder knock Neo and Ruby into the void, but that doesn't mean that he would think she was good all along. As for Neo believing that Ruby killed Roman, yes she sure does, that's why she's been trying to kill her. That's why she tried to strangle Ruby as they were falling, to get her revenge even though they were more than likely falling to their deaths anyway. She's a very determined person. 😄I'd love for Neo to get a redemption and maybe a friend or 5. She's my favourite character, I want the best for her, but how is she going to do that? They don't know she's lonely, they don't know why she was working with Cinder. The audience does. She can't be friendly with them until she gives away enough to help them understand her, but she's not going to want to be in a position to give things away. We can hope that they put two and two together at the sight of Torchwick's hat on her head, but we don't know they have. We can assume that Ruby only pretended to not know why she was there, in order to make Neo charge at her, but it's all guesswork. Plus this entire theory depends on her not attacking one of them on sight. I hope she won't. I hope she does meet up with someone other than Ruby first and gets the chance to offer, or be offered, to work together with them to get home. I just can't see Jaune being the one to do it. He's been through so much by this point. I really doubt that any of team RWBY will hold it against him, they all knew that Penny was very ready to give her life to save her friends and keep the Maiden power away from Cinder. It will still weigh heavily on him though. It hardly seems fair for him to be the one to shoulder the burden of Neo's problems too when she contributed to the situation he's struggling with. It's far more likely that Ruby will step up. She's the leader, she's the one Neo wants. I'm hoping for Ruby to get some focus this volume, obviously. We might even get some good cop, bad cop from Ruby and Yang. 😉Last volume Ruby dealt with her team starting to question her decisions and began to realise that she was holding unrealistic expectations when no one came to help after her message to the rest of Remnant, so I think she's going to emotionally withdraw from her team and try to tackle the problem of Neo personally. She'll have the safety net of her team surrounding her to keep her safe from Neo so she'll be in the best position to do that. Ruby successfully facilitating Neo's redemption and finding the way home might just be what she needs to get her confidence and positive outlook back. I suppose it's possible for Weiss to be the one, she has less to be angry with Neo over than any of the others, she just seems very removed from Neo's storyline. I'm wondering If they might see some kind of hallucinations about who they lost : Ruby and Yang will see Summer and maybe Penny, Weiss might see her father "before", and Black might see Adam. Following that logic, we might see the return of Pyrrha and Roman. So If those "hallucinations" are like traces of those dead people, then Pyrrha might urge Jaune to sympatize with Neo and Roman will explain that he wasn't killed by Ruby. I don't know why, but that place really give me some kind of "after-life" vibe

I agree I had a whole theory about Juan being the only capable of talking neo down but I was a volume 8 theroy because of the lost they both experienced. Like you said when neo had no one to understand her or who she want to be, she Roman was there. Juan had Pyrrha some one who believed in him even when he could do it himself, but what makes these two even more likely to talk is that both their losses come somewhat via cinder one way or another. That that's all the middle that's need to have extant an olive branch to Neo. Though I'll doubt and be so easily convinced (If she's still head hunting ruby) but I do believe that neo is less likely get hostile with knowing she can easily win an unarmed fight(Not like Juan having a weapon would help him) but I think Juan at one point would ask neo why help Salem and was all this worth it, which she would turn into Roman then change back. Which would confuse Juan because Roman was eaten by a Grimm, which Juan would call her out on saying it wasn't ruby it was cinder was in control of the Grimm. Which at this point if she doesn't believe him (which is understandable it's all hearsay, because ruby was the last one with Roman) she genuinely just in denial about it. But yeah something can come from these two.

I've said this before and I'll say it again... Jaune and Neo could potentially have an interesting relationship, as long as they there's absolutely nothing romantic about it. Yes, Jaune is the one that has dealt with loss similar to Neo so he really could help her deal with Roman's death. I just don't think they'd be good together romantically.

I would hope the Neo ends up in volume 9 beach is either Ruby or Jaune. I say ruby first is because both are very traumatized, both lost there weapons, both lost something at the hands of cinder. Jaune same thing as ruby but maybe he will be lest antagonistic towers her given how he didn’t blow at Ren in volume 8

I'd just really like to get a rough date for vol 9 release because I've been hearing so much scuttlebutt it's getting concerning. The latest I heard was it might get pushed back to 2023 and that RWBY was bought by HBO and they were gonna HBO the hell out of it like gen lock, like game of thrones season 1-3 the hell out of it.

Every time I see neopolitan . I think of the time Emerald spawned the hallucination thing of Salem. Neo can make physical creations out of her semblance so it wouldn't suprise me if she did it to save her own life or Break someone. Like make the scene that Blazblue does,Astral of Neo back on the airship except it's all a Glass sphere or cube as she slowly walks to ruby. (Given not sure how she'd find her Hush) Good thing is jaune can heal so even If neo was successful if jaune is there ruby will be fine. I think even if neo gets hurt jaune would help her also. Jaune has good morals and wouldn't just leave someone to die. He already lost penny who he stabbed last volume (idk why they didn't just jump off ... But winter would of died so it's the right decision) (even than if penny fell she would have died if it was just death so... Yeah.) Jaune would want to get a +1 saved from this and I believe that.

If Neo has to face her inner demons then I would like to see how the illusions of her parents, the people from her school treat her if they saw her now. Neo having no real identity without Overactive Imagination is going to be a surefire way to let her explore who she really is
Where is volume 9? Everyone said it was dropping early 2022, its now early 2022 and we still haven't even herd anything, not even a reassuring update that developments going smoothy... Some people legitimately think volume 9 was cancelled, and I cant even blame them.
It's early January, not early 2022, I would expect it around February or March. (During the holidays they didn't even fix copyright claims for TH-cam, so I doubt they were working on the show).

I disagree with you on the fact that none of Team RWBY are going to convince Neo to help and maybe even join their side and help them defeat Salem's faction then at least to stop trying to kill them. Ruby Rose especially. A mutual truce of sorts. Or a cease-fire.
They will have to get neo on their side. She can kick their butts and if she would be the main villain on volume 9, it makes sense she is going to hunt down Ruby. They would either uave to Kill Neo at some point or make her see the truth that Cinder is the real bitch here

So here is one way I think V9 could go: because of her current low mental state, Neo's rage towards Ruby is multiplied and so Neo will be the antagonist for a large portion of V9. In parallel, Ruby and Jaune will have an emotional but heated conversation about Penny (maybe in front of Penny's body...). I have no doubt Ruby will understand Jaune's actions but not immediately, she will need some time. Meanwhile, Jaune will cross Neo's path and will try to talk her out of her rage and solitude. It will require some time here too but eventually, Jaune will calm Neo, Neo will understand that she should be mad at Cinder and not Ruby and Ruby will come to term with what happened between Jaune and Penny.
Everyone will be changed and united and thus, able to leave this realm (I suspect some condition like this thanks to the tale of the Girl that fell into a magical place).
We could have two trios during V9. Ruby, Jaune, Neo on one hand and Weiss, Blake and Yang on the other hand. They would connect only towards the end of the Volume.

I'm thinking that this is gonna be a volume where Neo gets some form of closure with her inner conflict. It could be that she drops the whole revenge quest and keep a temporary truce with team RWBY at least until they make it back to Remnant. Or it will probably become a Raiden vs Jetstream Sam-like fight between Ruby and Neo. Idk, literally anything could happen, that's how unpredictable this next volume is for me.

She's been slowly turning away from Salem for a while now so she'll definitely fight against Salem however like you said I don't know to what degree I have a feeling she may at one point end up going on a mission with Ruby to the point where it's just the two of them breaking into Salem's Castle so Ruby can fight Salem one on one and in order to do that she will use her siblings to mask that they're there until the fight begins kind of like Hunter x Hunter with the Chimera ant Arc enemies that were against each other are now close allies at least for a mission
Neo is certainly going to be at her lowest point in her life. I wouldn’t surprised if she started seeing things in her mind.
Definitely buy the mental state thing, but I'm not sure about the semblances. Didn't we already see Petal Burst working normally in the Winter Vault, a similar dimension separate from Remnant? Aura and semblances after all are something internal to people of Remnant, I don't see why it would depend on them being in a particular environment.
Maybe whoever finds Hush will give it back to Neo after they start to trust her.

Neo has never been a character I cared much for, but I will admit that I am curious to see what happens to Neo after Cinders betrayal and knowing that she's stuck with RWBY and Jaune. Plus, you really need to say that these things are just theories and never say "you're sure" that they will happen or that they "will" happen because no one in the FNDM does. Even you and your infinite RWBY wisdom. Also. I think Jaune will have a role to play in Neos change, but it won't be JUST him that changes her. I think it'll also have something to do with Neo seeing the friendship between RWBY and Jaune, but I do look forward to that video. Also, how about a video where you talk about the inevitable trauma Jaune will face after killing Penny? Something like that can have a major impact on a guy like Jaune. Oh, an maybe an updated version of how you think Weiss and Jaune will get together. There's more evidence to use for that theory

Watching this video reminded me of something I heard that goes something like “if you feel broken, remember this: how do you make a glow stick glow?” I believe that this arc will start with Neo at her lowest, but will ultimately lead to a great amount of character growth and development for her.

I would agree this being a part of Vol 9. Everyone being separated in different areas of the other realm, forced to endure loneliness and fear in unknown territory and facing the conflicts revolving around their failures and losses. It would be nice to take a break from dire action to more of the growth in the characters' arcs

Random question - If semblances straight up don't work in the island, do you think Neo's going to wake up with fully brown hair? I know at the start of Roman Holiday she dyes half of it pink but at another point it seems her semblance has unconsciously kept the illusion of half pink hair, so I wonder if it's still dyed or just relies on semblance now?

Neo being with the group is honestly what I’m most excited about. I really hope Jaune is the one that helps her, that can be an interesting dynamic. Everyone who fell into this world has lost someone. Ruby and Yang lost their mother. Weiss, while she doesn’t know it yet, just lost her father. Blake lost Adam, and she actually killed him herself. Jaune lost Pyrrah and just killed Penny with his own weapon. And then there’s Neo who lost Roman.
And Ruby doesn’t know it but she lost Penny to.
Let's face it the writers aren't going to do shit with Neo. The only reason they brought her back is because she's pretty popular (don't know why though). After reading v7 and v8 commentary they have no plan for her. They might kill her off to save time and money if they have any of it.

He assisted Penny in her suicide. He only had to do that because Cinder and Neo attacked them as they were evacuating Atlas and Mantle. It might have been possible for him to form a connection with Neo over the similarities of their grief before he was forced into such a terrible postition, but now? With the blood of a friend on his hands because of her and Cinder? I don't see how it could happen. Unless he hyper focusses on Cinder as the root of all evil or something.
I think Ruby will become the fifth wheel in volume 9.
Yang and Blake are going to have their reunion, maybe even progress their relationship to actually be an official relationship.
Weiss will support Jaune. They were the ones that were left behind to hold the line, who watched their friends 'die' and were forced to do the unthinkable.
Ruby is the leader who's plans all fell apart in the end, got her sister 'killed' and saw two of the relics fall into Cinder's hands.
Neo is the antagonist who's lost the one thing she cared about, been betrayed and failed to get her revenge time and time again.
As such, I think the one to reach out to Neo will be Ruby. It makes sense, she is more closely tied to her storyline after all.
How depends on the direction they take Neo in. Redemption, 'Enemy of My Enemy' or a villian to overcome?🤔
I think Jaune will understand that Neo's another victim of Cinder's manipulation, just like Emerald was. And now that I think about, Neo doesn't know what truly happened to Torchwich, does she ? She might believe that it truly was Ruby who killed him and not a grimm.

Emerald was rescuing Oscar when they met inside Monstra, and Ren was there to reveal her emotions to the team which helped them understand her motivations. Emerald only turned against Salem, we still don't know how she will react to being faced with Cinder herself. Emerald also showed regret for her actions, Neo never has.
Jaune has only met Neo in person and up close once, during the fight when she stole the lamp from them. She was all smiles and playful gestures the entire time she decimated JNR. If he saw her on the walkway it was from a distance and relentlessly attacking Ruby. She never seemed to be against what Cinder was doing. He might have seen Cinder knock Neo and Ruby into the void, but that doesn't mean that he would think she was good all along.
As for Neo believing that Ruby killed Roman, yes she sure does, that's why she's been trying to kill her. That's why she tried to strangle Ruby as they were falling, to get her revenge even though they were more than likely falling to their deaths anyway. She's a very determined person. 😄I'd love for Neo to get a redemption and maybe a friend or 5. She's my favourite character, I want the best for her, but how is she going to do that? They don't know she's lonely, they don't know why she was working with Cinder. The audience does.
She can't be friendly with them until she gives away enough to help them understand her, but she's not going to want to be in a position to give things away. We can hope that they put two and two together at the sight of Torchwick's hat on her head, but we don't know they have. We can assume that Ruby only pretended to not know why she was there, in order to make Neo charge at her, but it's all guesswork.
Plus this entire theory depends on her not attacking one of them on sight. I hope she won't. I hope she does meet up with someone other than Ruby first and gets the chance to offer, or be offered, to work together with them to get home.
I just can't see Jaune being the one to do it. He's been through so much by this point. I really doubt that any of team RWBY will hold it against him, they all knew that Penny was very ready to give her life to save her friends and keep the Maiden power away from Cinder. It will still weigh heavily on him though. It hardly seems fair for him to be the one to shoulder the burden of Neo's problems too when she contributed to the situation he's struggling with.
It's far more likely that Ruby will step up. She's the leader, she's the one Neo wants. I'm hoping for Ruby to get some focus this volume, obviously. We might even get some good cop, bad cop from Ruby and Yang. 😉Last volume Ruby dealt with her team starting to question her decisions and began to realise that she was holding unrealistic expectations when no one came to help after her message to the rest of Remnant, so I think she's going to emotionally withdraw from her team and try to tackle the problem of Neo personally. She'll have the safety net of her team surrounding her to keep her safe from Neo so she'll be in the best position to do that. Ruby successfully facilitating Neo's redemption and finding the way home might just be what she needs to get her confidence and positive outlook back.
I suppose it's possible for Weiss to be the one, she has less to be angry with Neo over than any of the others, she just seems very removed from Neo's storyline.

I'm wondering If they might see some kind of hallucinations about who they lost : Ruby and Yang will see Summer and maybe Penny, Weiss might see her father "before", and Black might see Adam. Following that logic, we might see the return of Pyrrha and Roman. So If those "hallucinations" are like traces of those dead people, then Pyrrha might urge Jaune to sympatize with Neo and Roman will explain that he wasn't killed by Ruby. I don't know why, but that place really give me some kind of "after-life" vibe

I agree I had a whole theory about Juan being the only capable of talking neo down but I was a volume 8 theroy because of the lost they both experienced. Like you said when neo had no one to understand her or who she want to be, she Roman was there. Juan had Pyrrha some one who believed in him even when he could do it himself, but what makes these two even more likely to talk is that both their losses come somewhat via cinder one way or another. That that's all the middle that's need to have extant an olive branch to Neo. Though I'll doubt and be so easily convinced (If she's still head hunting ruby) but I do believe that neo is less likely get hostile with knowing she can easily win an unarmed fight(Not like Juan having a weapon would help him) but I think Juan at one point would ask neo why help Salem and was all this worth it, which she would turn into Roman then change back. Which would confuse Juan because Roman was eaten by a Grimm, which Juan would call her out on saying it wasn't ruby it was cinder was in control of the Grimm. Which at this point if she doesn't believe him (which is understandable it's all hearsay, because ruby was the last one with Roman) she genuinely just in denial about it. But yeah something can come from these two.

I've said this before and I'll say it again... Jaune and Neo could potentially have an interesting relationship, as long as they there's absolutely nothing romantic about it. Yes, Jaune is the one that has dealt with loss similar to Neo so he really could help her deal with Roman's death. I just don't think they'd be good together romantically.

I feel like Neo will get injured somehow and will need help. Then Jaune shows up and heals her with his semblance and the two will start becoming friends after that.

I would hope the Neo ends up in volume 9 beach is either Ruby or Jaune. I say ruby first is because both are very traumatized, both lost there weapons, both lost something at the hands of cinder. Jaune same thing as ruby but maybe he will be lest antagonistic towers her given how he didn’t blow at Ren in volume 8
Next volume will be very good if they can pull that of or the plot will be terrible, but it will have fantastic fight scenes. (This is my predictions for volume 9)

I'd just really like to get a rough date for vol 9 release because I've been hearing so much scuttlebutt it's getting concerning. The latest I heard was it might get pushed back to 2023 and that RWBY was bought by HBO and they were gonna HBO the hell out of it like gen lock, like game of thrones season 1-3 the hell out of it.
Well, it's a good thing none of that is happening.
The HBO stuff is completely unfounded, and the writers have confirmed that they still plan for a 2022 release.

Neo can make physical creations out of her semblance so it wouldn't suprise me if she did it to save her own life or Break someone.

It's early January, not early 2022, I would expect it around February or March. (During the holidays they didn't even fix copyright claims for TH-cam, so I doubt they were working on the show).
