Graham, I've just seen this in the 'Railway Modeller'. I had to look to see if there was a video of it. I think this is a beautiful and inspring model! The standard of the scenic modeling in such a small space - breathtaking! Thank you! Nigel Beeton
Altogether, very nicely done!!!!! I call tis really first rate. If it were mine I'd be seeking to disguise or replace the lichen, especially near the front. It looks a bit too much like lichen, at least to non-novices. But still, first rate and I love it. I really like the way you've spread that village over all te levels, and yet somehow it works to knit everything together. Remarkably, the layout does not seem over crowded. I presume there's a grade from lowest to highest point concealed in the back somewhere....
hi there. could you tell me which tunnel portals you used on this build or did you scratch build them? love this layout yet to see it in the flesh though
Hello, Thank you for your kind comment. The lower tunnel portals are scratch built made using sanded Wills Coarse Stone sheets and some Wills brick arch (cut out) overlays. The upper station portal (with the railings) is also made with Wills sheet. The upper village portal is made using some Peco N Gauge NB-33 bridge sides raised slightly to allow taller trains and also a raised parapet wall. The layout was exhibited 4 times this year around East Anglia and (so far) has 3 bookings for next year, Bury St Edmunds, Norwich and Stowmarket.
I LOVE the locomotives here, really gives a good vibe to a small town
Amazing. Adorable. Beautiful.
A little jewel!
Wow amazing view
Fantastic modelling and wonderful scenes to catch the eye.....
Fantastico. Più bello di un grande plastico ipertecnologico. Complimenti
Brilliant layout, the scene on the hill
Is outstanding, reminds me of Harrogate/Pickering/Malton area
What a Fantastic little Layout. So well executed.
Wonderful details and a great layout!
Magnificent !❤
Absolutely beautiful, an inspiration for me, I'm in the middle of building a 009 layout, but no where near the standard of yours, well done.

Thank you so much 😊
I was thinking N scale but you have inspired me to consider this.....the scenery is outstanding and the perspective is captivating....
Wow! That railway coils like the Darjeeling! But very cute modelling. Scenery and buildings match in quality, which one doesn't often see. 👍
Very atmospheric, I love short goods trains, the one on the layout looks great. Beautiful buildings and scenery, hope to see it soon.
It's a beauty!
Great to see the layout working after seeing the articles in the "News". Another amazing layout.

Hi Graham , have you any more exhibitions planned this year. Thanks
Lovely layout with lots of little touches that add to the overall scene. What size is the layout please?
Thank you. Shortwaite Hill is 44" x 24". An article about it appeared in the March 2021 "Railway Modeller" magazine.
Where is the Thin Controller ‼️❤️❤️❤️
Very nice - I'd like to live there - is there a pub too?!
Of course. The pub is the large building on the hill!
