Hello! Could I ask you about the pinion under the top of gear in the oldest Yamaha 30 was located flat bearing, but modern motors don't contain this bearing.
And next if pinion gear didn't have top bearing why does the vertical shaft have conical bearing except ballbearing?
Conical bearing shold have pair of counterforce!
But modern motors of 30 hp didn't have counter force for conical bearing!
Please describe what the hell is going on with marketing?

Just need it one time. Can’t justify the cost for a one time on a 40ish year old motor. All things aside awesome looking tool

Great tool! How about video putting the assembly back together with new clutch dog and reverse gear?

Stripped the castle nut first try. Forgot they’re made of softer metal. I’ve also found it difficult to find a suitable nut for the application, i believe the threads are M14x1.5. Do you have any recommendations? I see you didn’t have a castle nut on there. Tyia

I've done the same. Are you using a steel nut or the castle nut when using the tool?

Hey thanks for the video. Does that reverse gear come off of the carrier bearing? If so, do you know the process for removal?
    Thanks for your time

The reverse gear and bearing usually are pressed into the bearing carrier, but a few second s of heating the carrier on all sides with a torch and the carrier will usually let go of the bearing. Normally I use a bearing splitter to remove separate the bearing and reverse gear from each other

Can you do a video showing removing the reverse gear?
Any change for a counter revolution gearbox box?

Your shims are probably out of spec. If you don’t install the correct sizes, this will happen again
