    By saving the old bearing race you have the perfect size adapter to push the new one in with!

    That expanding trumpet/bugle thingy is a piece of brilliance.

    Good piece of kit. The expanding bit reminded me of the 'here is a box, a musical box, wound up and ready to play'

      Lol! One of those handy kits you only need once or twice! Still, the price was right...

    That’s a pretty slick tool, but damn that bearing did not want to budge

    ive had one of those for two years. paid for itself twice over. the threaded pieces are ideal for pulling out old style bmw rocker shafts out of the head.

    Rubber bands or tape on the legs to keep them in place.
    One or two good hard taps on the top of the bolt to give it a shock. Helps break the tension.

    I always use a Kukko puller and a more massiv plug to get the race out of the input shaft. But sometimes I have to put the sliding rod into the vice, as shown at the manual, to get it out. The original doesn't work, because the expending screw inables to take care of its produced for.

    Great tool, but when you tightened the expanding trumpet - should you not of backed it off a few turns so it does not interfere with the shaft wall ?

    • @BritannicaRestorations
      @BritannicaRestorations  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Possibly - but there is not much 'meat' to work with on such a small bearing

      That was my thought too, but it depends on the Bush/bearing and how close the puller is to the bore size,

    Does the slide hammer attach to the top of the 'legs' bit? It would be handy to be able to crack it with the legs and then whack it out using the slide hammer.

    is there a bigger one to pull wheel bearing races? I've used hammer and chisel in the past but the puller is more controlled so less likely to damage the hub?

    I had to return mine cause I didn`t have a 16 milimeters wrench for it.
    I had one, 16 but was in pilimeters , so was useless.

    Maybe a heavier hammer would be better not sure they stand up to a stubborn bearing race.

  • @gregdyar6451
    @gregdyar6451 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    There's no way a slide hammer would take out that bearing...
    Would heat make any difference.?
