Great Video - my input seals were shot on both legs. Only thing I go is always clean up bolts with a wire brush before I grease to remove salt and buildup from the threads. Love to see a video on prop seal replacements..! 😊
Excellent detail. We need extreme closeups. After the introduction, we don't need to see your head and torso, only your hands and the exact placement of the chisel. Also need to see both sides of each seal to learn orientation.
I work with O rings in the water softener business And I have to use an O ring lube I thought you weren't supposed to put grease on O rings Could you please tell me what kind of Greece you use is it just plain Marine Grease. Thank you for your video it was very very informative
Working on the same job now. My upper carrier housing is beat up from previous owner I assume. The inside sealing surface is scratched as well. Can I remove that bearing and install in new housing??
Wondering about the shift shaft what if it pulls up some, mine came up but went right back in so is that ok, can it become out of adjustment or can it only go in one way
Does this upper driveshaft bearing carrier tool apply to Yamaha SHO 250 gearcases? I can not find anything on how to remove/replace the propshaft and pretty sure all this has to be removed to do so. Thanks!
Thank you so much for this great documentary I was wondering do you have a part number for the seal kit by chance? Also this would virtually be the same for a ox66250 right?
I know that this video is 4 yrs old already, but i am in the process of doing the exact same thing to a 1990, Yamaha 150-ETXD model. If anyone in the interwebs-land out there can help me, I would like to know where and how to find a new carrier bearing housing O-RING? preferably a oem by Yamaha. Thanks
I removed the lower foot without noticing the anode positioning. If my memory serves me correctly, it was in direct alignment with the prop shaft? Anyone have any direction on this issue? Also, the shift shaft, I did not shift the gear selection into neutral. I think I moved the gear shaft in the foot, while replacing the impeller. How do I ensure correct alignment, other than testing it once I have re-assembled the lower foot onto the motor?
Thank you for the great video. My only comment is: when he installed bearing housing back he didn’t mention if it should be put in in certain direction.
If you look at the top of the housing you'll notice the top lip doesn't go around 360 degrees. There's a slit (for lack of a better word) there. That slit faces forward on the motor. Opposite of the direction of the prop. I hope that made sense!!!
Art McDonald I figured it out, but some people might screw up. In my case bearing housing could be installed any way, because first I put it in and then I found that I didn’t check if there is difference how to put it in, and finally I found that oil groove.
Dear Sir, i have same motor YAMAHA LF200TXRA i have same problems you show in the vedio , can tell me if you have same pard you show in the in recive in casablanca morocco,

I was able to use a regular slide hammer with hook type fitted and move side to side till carrier housing came loose thanks for video
like the way you took out vent screw before installing shift retainer.

Zoom in !
Thank you for your videos I’ve learned a lot as a first time boat owner.
Is a 20 HP same as a 200 HP on a water pump tear down ?

Why do you use grease instead of anti-seize on the bolt threads?
Can you show me how to do it on a C 90TLRX Yamaha 2 stroke and then pressure test it?
$197 puller for the housing, garage sale wood chisel to remove the seal, love it!
Very good video, take out the change rod and I want to place it as it. I have a 90 hp yamaha

Great video...very through in describing the process.
where can I get one of those slide hammers I have a Yamaha 115 4 stroke doing the pump now, but want to change out the o rings and new seals
Great video! I serviced my impellar but had a disaster. My driveshaft needs to be replaced. Do you have any videos on drive shaft removal?
Thank you for the great video. My only comment is: when he installed bearing housing back he didn’t mention if it should be put in in certain direction.
I mean there is oil supply groove. It looks like seat and housing should match
