Did exactly as you said and it worked after cleaning the contacts as the paint had got stuck in there. Had to make sure the lead were moving. Appreciate your video heaps. The surprise was when the motor ran
This tutorial helped fix mine. Wagner is making overpriced items that go bad that if you were not blessed with simple mechanical skills, this sprayer would be in the trash. No way paint should make it inside the motor.
Excellent video! The paint backed up in my sprayer unexpectedly. I followed your instructions completely and took a chance to carefully remove some of the paint off the motor wires. I only had problems putting it back together because of the prying to remove the top of the motor. Everything works fine! I am grateful😊
Thank you so much brother. This video helped me fix my Wagner Flexio (different model) which had sucked in paint into the motor component. It was the same deal with the sticking pins. Once I cleaned these out, the metal pin moved more freely inside. Great video man!
Brilliant video. Exactly the same for me. My version has black plastic panels on the side and end that you can just clip off. Took both of the brushes out and one was stuck solid with paint. Fortunately it was water soluble paint, so cleaned them up, sprayed a bit of isopropyl alcohol on them to displace any water. Put it back together and working absolutely perfectly.
This was the information I needed. About to reassemble after cleaning. You'd think Wagner would design a better duct to prevent paint from flowing back to the motor
Exact same issue, and this video was really helpfull to disassemblyle and fix. Nice job! The exact problem with my sprayer was that the paint insixe the motor prevented one of the spring loaded brushes from moving to contact the rotor. Clearly a design flaw that allows paint to get to the motor and cause this issue with normal use. What I don't know is, how do you prevent it from happening again? It's. It like you should run water through the motor to clean it.
I think it happens if you remove the cap of the spray nozzle without removing this part entirely from the motor device itself. The built up pressure is released and paint leaks out towards the back and front. I've made this mistake when the gun has clogged up and tried to wipe it clean. Very annoying!
Thanks for this video. Last time I washed my paint sprayer, I forgot to put back the red washer in the nozzle. What a mess !! The paint went inside my motor and I tried to clean it the best way I could but I didn't succed. After seing your video, I desassemble the motor and I found so much dryed paint in it that it couldn't work. One of the motor brush was completely coverd of paint. I soak the parts in hot water with black soap for a few hours and scrub every little parts with a dentist tool and a needle. I finnaly got all the paint off. I think that I should remplace the motor brush that was full of paint because I dammaged it in scrubbing the paint. Do you hage an idea of the motor brush model I should order ? I search on internet but the only similar motor brush I found were for washing machines and they seams to be too big. Thanks for your help.
Hi there, I dont know exact dimensions/part number of the brushes, but I suggest you to take one out and if hardware or electronic tool shop does not have the same one, buy little bigger and just file the new one to the original size. Of course it is not the best solution, but if you do good job, it will be as good as original, if you wont file it quite a close to original dimensions, it may overheat and melt the plastic where brushes are located and destroy the motor. Sorry for not beining able to help.
@@JUrtanschannel I have the W990 w/ same issue. I opened it, cleaned it thoroughly, put it back together and it works like new. The motor can be opened without "prying". INSTEAD place a hard wood or plastic on the LID (Cover, Cap what ever is called), where the brushes are located. hit them with Hammer gently AND =>ONE-at-a-time« on BOTH =OPPOSITE sides. After couple of time the LID (Cover, Cap) will pop out nicely without any damages. From there it is "just" =A -LOT -OF - CLEANING !
@@pKova55 Hi, thank you for this comment, it really should be pinned towards the top (if that's even possible). Just wondering if you could be a little bit more specific on what part of the motor I'm supposed to hammer. Are we talking directly on the top of the cap, or on the sides? Thank you!
@søflksøslødfkæfæNOT on the motor itself should be "hammered"! The LID (Cover, Cap what ever is called) is the way to open the housing. On the LIDs side there are 2 "stand-outs"SLIT (Openings) where you could push or "slid" in some flat things like flat-screwdriver. With it you could PRY the LID(COVER) open. As shown in the video. But this method will leave you with visitable "damaged" Lid (Cover), since the aluminum will giveaway easily while prying. If you are patient and take your time, you could hammer it back and so on… BUT I approached the opening differently. Remember: Lid (Cover) is NOT welded, soldered or something else. It is just pushed in firmly. As mentioned, take a good look at the LID (Cover). Your observation will lead you to 2 "stand-outs" on the SIDE of the Cover. Now clamp the motor somewhere. (I clamped it with my strong legs). The Lid should face down (towards the flower), Place a stick of hard wood (plastic or what have you) on the Slit-opening on the side of the Lid. Go ahead and hammer gently on the wood (plastic) Stick, move to the other SLIT and do the same. REPEAT couple of times. And the Lid should pop-out nicely without any "damages"! From there, it should be self-explanatory. And =>> A-LOT-OF-CLEANING is waiting for you, in case of color entrance within the motor. Patience is required 😅🤪🤪
Hi, Thank you so much for this video ! I disassembled the motor as you show it and I found so much paint in it. One of the motor brush was completely stuck in paint. Maybe I will need to replace it by a new one. I search on Internet but the only ones that looks similar are for washing machine and they looks too big. Refering to your channel, you looks as a very good mechanic. I thought that maybe you could help me to find the good model of those motor brush. I live in Canada but I can order from anywhere worldwide as long as I am sure to order the right item. I thank you in advance for any help you could give me or my husband (Michel) who already wrote you for the same matter. I am better in searching internet or to manage my TH-cam channel. Please answer me first if you don't mind.

What did you clean them with, just water?
@søflksøslødfkæfæyes , that was all I used .
Well done 👏 for fixing and not replacing 🎉

Hey thanks much I just watched your video and was able to fix mine.
Good video. I didn’t have paint inside. I had rust from cleaning with water. Sanded everything, work fine now.
Worked like a charm, thanks JUrtan!
Job done, tool works like before. Thanks!
Totally worked for us!! Thank you!!

Oh dear I just got paint that awkward bit. I might end up having to do this too ☠️
No comprendo cómo ha llegado la pintura hasta el interior del motor
