  • After using the Wagner Flexio LIVE on TV for the past 3 yrs, I want to share my pro tips and tricks for troubleshooting and setting up your sprayer for the BEST results. I love mine and hope you will to.
    While I do do demos on QVC, Wagner has not asked me to film this clip. I just want to make sure users know the best practices for this tool.

I cranked it all the way up and I was able to spray a very think black exterior paint with NO dilution with absolute ease! Thanks again! You saved me hours and hours of brush and roller work and now I have a definite go to for future paint projects!

    I was having such a hard time with this thing today. I have the control spray xtra duty sprayer and after a few minutes of spraying primer it clogged up to the point of only shooting globs out! It was time for paint, it started to do the same thing after I refilled it once. I watched this and saw you assemble it with the yellow thing horizontal and I took the yellow cap off, turned the yellow thing horizontal, out the cap back on, and it stopped splattering!
    I have no idea why this makes a difference but am so glad I watched this! Ty!

    That "turbine motor" is called is called the atomizer. That model is an HVLP atomizer model, which turns the paint into a super fine mist as it atomizes the paint during the spray process.

I have the larger walls left in the 3 rooms and I’m finally going use the sprayer there now. Thank you again.
    Any tips when painting walls when both the walls and ceiling are textured (that’s how they do it here in Texas)?

    • @DIYHIPChicks
      @DIYHIPChicks  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for delay. If doing textured walls I would try taping brown paper snugly along edge it that won't hold I would stop spraying a few inches before edges and brush them like cutting in. Yes it takes some time but less time than redoing edges

    The yellow screw 5:24 seems to serve no particular purpose with this combination, and has nothing to do with the volume . The only problem it may cause is if it is screwed right out it may interfere with the pump body. The trigger is for the W 2000 and 3000 models with the 2 stage pump stop-start on the trigger so you can adjust the play in the trigger from pump on to paint on. The W 575 model has the side on off switches so doesn't need that part of the trigger. They obviously both use the same spray/tank unit. The stop for the W575 model is a small steel screw behind the trigger, above the yellow screw. Took a bit of a search to find this out, as somebody else here commented there is nothing in the 575 instructions which mentions this. They are a handy sprayer and make the job easy. I found thinning acrylic paint 10-20% with a flow rate of 2-3 on low speed works well. I still have a Wagner W 400SE electronic piston sprayer I bought in the late 70s which is still working well, but is way obsolete, so I thought it was time to upgrade as parts are hard to find. The only down side with the new guns is they are bigger, heavier and need separate accessories to do the same as one of the early piston guns. Good video for beginners .

I will soak the whole spray (minus the motor of course) in a bucker of warm water. I have also gently tapped the paint bucket on the ground to break the seal of dried paint. Get a buddy to help too. 4 hands are better than 2.

    My sprayer is spraying exactly the opposite pattern I expect. When the nozzle is horizontal, I expect a horizontal fan pattern where the left and right are angled in the spray pattern. Instead, I get the vertical fan where the spray is angled up and down. I'm assembling the unit exactly as described, but the pattern is never the same as the spray nozzle, but rather the opposite. :(

    • @DIYHIPChicks
      @DIYHIPChicks  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That is correct. It is counterintuitive. Position the yellow directional head opposite of how you want paint to flow. It is that way because of how the air pushes the paint

The air flow tube is filling up with paint after about 1/2 hr of spraying. I’m thoroughly cleaning it , every millimeter of this thing is spotless, so I know nothing is clogged. I have the 2500 and according to the manual you can use it for larger or smaller jobs. So I decided I wanted to use it to paint some metal Louver closet doors instead of buying new ones however... It was spitting and spitting and I couldn't seem to get the settings right. I was using bullseye primer so I tried thinning it a little and it didn't seem to work. When I was getting to the end of the job it seemed that it was a bit clogged so I took it apart a little bit and clean the tip put it back together and I think that might have been the problem from the beginning. It might have had something clogging the nozzle. By that time I was beat. So I'm going to try again. I'll probably have to sand down the doors lightly and the next attempt will be with paint so if it sounds like I did something wrong please let me know but in the end I had it on about it number 8 and number 2 Turbo with the wide setting🙄 it also seemed like it was using a ton of product and I have to admit it's very hard to clean. This is the third type of paint sprayer of used and the others didn't use near as much product is this does. I went to this one cuz it was cheaper than buying a new compressor. And cleaning the other spray guns took about 1/10 of the time as this one does🤔🤔

    I bought a wagner paint sprayer in the 1990's. I needed to spray the deck and fences. I had the stain in the machine and all ready to go only to find out that the nozzles were not included. ( I wish they would have printed that information on the front of the box.) I ran back to the store and purchased what I needed. After painting for about 60 min. it clogged and wouldn't work. I tried cleaning and adjusting. Nothing worked, I ended up tossing it in the garbage. It was very expensive and I was very disappointed. I really thought Wagner had the best product for home use. I would like to try again but I'm apprehensive about trying again. Many of today's products that were great in the past are using cheaper parts and not lasting like they use to. I would love to use the Wagner power painter but I'm not sure what to do.

    Get paint everywhere, and after the first few uses require all sorts of special cleaning and troubleshooting just for them to run for 5 minutes.
    Its a nice idea, but another manifestation of our "Everything fast and instant" culure.
    Just pick out a day or two, get a friend or family member to help...and buy them pizza.
