    For a van, it looks huge, tidy, and comfortable on the inside. Both of you know what you need; all items / nooks are functional. Love how you made your garage spacious (and that you have a 'secret doorway' from the inside and the space for laundry basket).
    PS. I wonder why I don't see a lot of van built with your kind of shower setup (shower rods, extendable clothesline, pocket storage). It's very convenient. ✨

    I've never liked chest refrigerators because when they're pulled out they either interfere with the walk space in the kitchen or they require you to remove everything off the counter to access what's inside. Your design is so clever because it allows you to have the chest 'frig that can be used whenever you need it! Very clever. Thanks for sharing.

      @loganseims7921 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thankyou! We were definitely hesitant to use the chest fridge, but all in all I can say I really like it! Its so much more efficient than our previous fridge. However there is almost always cons. Are you designing a van Build?

    • @artjunkeeperga5392
      @artjunkeeperga5392 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      A way around this definite irritation is to load the bottom half as normal (of-course, non-squishy items). Then the top items can be loaded into several bags, such as plastic, string hammocks, or even the larger left over plastic containers from food items like fruit. Think ones you can see through. Then it's only lifting out a small number of containers instead of individual items. Always keeping "standard" items, such as mayo, in the same spot on the bottom will mean only "digging" down to that one known spot.

    I love your van build. I want to do a van build, so my grandson and I can travel around sometimes and take vacations, he is 9 yrs old, I am 56 and I am raising him and we watch van build videos all the time and dream of having our own one day or even a small motor home, but a van will be a nice start and more economical. I used to own a van a few years ago and I wish I would have known about van life back then because that could have been a good start for me. I love your entire set up and your van build is one of the best ones I have seen. I am going to save this one in my van build playlist to refer back to at a later date when I purchase another van. Visuals and audio quality was excellent. Thank you for no music, hurrah!!!
    Kelleen did an excellent job of showing detail as Logan was talking, and focusing on van not man. This was professional camera work, Kelleen!
    The Webasto heater is $1625, but Chinese diesel heaters are only $200. I hear the cheaper models work well. I would most likely use these.
    2:00 - The hook and latch don't look nice. So many better options. Never put cheap buttons on a pricey couture dress. The pull out table is not a good idea. I would much rather see a shallow drawer for laptops or cutlery. Put a Lagun table for a desk area in front of the passenger seat.
    4:08 - From personal experience those magnetic spice jars don't work. The magnets are weak and weaken further. They will fall and create a mess. Maybe put an elastic net over them.
    6:10 - You should have continued that backsplash all the way down. Its very nice but chopped off halfway visually.
    Laundry Chute - Great idea. Why not put a slide out box in the narrow cabinet that slides out to remove dirty laundry bag liner.
    Great job on layout, kitchen cabinets, ceiling, hot water system, gas heating furnace. Excellent overall build. Putting a heating mat with thermostat in battery cabinet was genius! Very well done. Thanks for the tour. Hope the feedback is helpful.

You need a workshop area to do a proper build out from scratch. I also wanted to use the van right away. I bought an older Class C RV and worked on that to redo a lot of areas. Then I used it. Now I know what I want a few years down the road. I also know what components to use, how to build it out from watching some excellent builds. This is almost my ideal shower at the back of the van.
    Slide out heavy duty board that then hooks on to the edge of both doors, so you don’t stand on the ground.
    Then a very short awning that comes out covering the top to only the edge of the doors from the roof of the van if it rains, if not then you can shower in open sky.
    And lastly a shower curtain that wraps around the rectangular space your in.
    Or to be safer and avoiding strong winds, can also install a fold out panel from the doors to connect and lock.
    So you basically have another extra opened space from the back of the van that can also be use for a projector screen to binge movies during camping with friends.

    For this build, you moved the shower from inside to outside. Obviously this is a great space saver and have tentative plans in my build to add an external shower outside the back as you have.
    However, how often did you use the shower in your previous van build and how often are you using this one?
    For your heater, did your Ram Promaster have a gas inlet from the engine or did you have to get one installed?
    What is the size of your gray tank?
    What type of gas mileage do you get with your vehicle?

    • @loganseims7921
      @loganseims7921 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We actually didn't use the inside shower very much at all, and the outside shower we've used, but more for a rinse. Its come in handy though! I value the space saved over having a shower inside.

    • @loganseims7921
      @loganseims7921 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Now that it's cold we will go to the gym for showers. The grey tank is a 5 gallon. Ram Promasters come with an extra pickup line on the gasoline tank so you merely have to connect to it for the heater. And the the van averages 18mpg

      @LKseims  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi! I just double checked the Amazon link and you're totally right! I'm not seeing the backup battery info. We purchased our fridge through Summit Racing Equipment, but they told us it was the same product that was listed on Amazon.
      On the display (as shown on the Amazon listing as well) it shows a battery icon. If the fridge stops receiving outside power it will resort to using the backup battery. The icon will show you how charged the backup battery is and you'll be able to see when it starts getting drained. It says it should offer up to 16 hours of backup battery time but I'm sure that varies depending on how hot it is where you are at.

    Nice job! The laundry shoot is a great idea! Not sure if I would replicated it the same way but maybe? The idea that the laundry flows to an out of the way area in the garage is awesome! I was intrigued by the wheel well covers which you didn’t mention? I never heard of a Rhino liner, and I don’t see a link for it ? Is this a solid material that you attached to the back of the wood panel or a material that gets rolled on like paint? So many good ideas! I love the vegetable/fruit hammock, and what seems like the biggest issue for most people is a fixed shower vs some kind of pop up or erectable shower stored in a cabinet. I was kind of set on a fixed shower, but now that I have seen your solution and the fact that I most likely would never do any winter time travel, I think that replicating your solution would be the best, and would allow for a shorter wheel base. Maybe, adding a cedar slat floor mat that could be rolled out would keep your feet off the ground? Now, given that I’m 61, I just have to get the courage to try building out a van!

    I can also recommend vacuum storage bags that come with a teeny usb vacuum pump for storing out of season clothes, bulky coats, blankets or even linens (from JML/VMSTR Travel etc)

    How do you get the laundry from inside when two bikes blocked the laundry bin

      Whenever the bikes are in the back we just move the bikes and grab our laundry

      @@loganseims7921 No. I’m just living vicariously through other people’s adventures! If you don’t mind my asking, what was the approximate build cost?

    • @loganseims7921
      @loganseims7921 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DLY0898 The van cost is usually more expensive the the actual build! I think the build on this one cost us over 10,000 dollars and a lot of time

    Can you link the hooks for the shower curtain and also that line that you pulled across for the inner shower curtain? I have the same Promaster.

      @loganseims7921 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The shower curtain hooks were bought at Walmart and we had to modify them to fit the hole in the doors. We will have the retractable clothes line as a link in the description soon!
