- HI FRIENDS!! I am SO happy to finally be sharing a complete tour of my van, Brunswick! This DIY conversion took about 10 months to complete & the whole build series is on my channel if you’d like to see more!
Brunswick is a 2018 RAM Promaster 1500 136” WB High Roof!
This van was designed & built for full-time living with my 85lb Australian Shepherd, Teller! As a traveling photographer, this van has been perfect for getting me where I need to go & keeping me out in nature longer. This journey has been such a blessing, and it makes me so happy to share it with you all 🫶

Wow! I'm blown away by the coziness and efficiency of your van! One thing I ask myself is, "Could I be sick in there?" A lot of people don't seem to think about that but your positioning of the toilet and sink makes it totally possible to be sick in there. Great home build! One of the best I've seen and a great place for your dog to be happy and comfortable, too! Wonderful job and consideration for your canine companion.

That is actually so funny you bring that up, because "could I be sick in here" was a huge unspoken factor in my design for this van! Well, more like "how can I most comfortably be sick in here" 🤣My chronic illness makes getting frequently sick a given, unfortunately. I'm very happy with how the bathroom layout turned out, and I can tell you first hand that it's one of the nicer places where I have found myself ill😅

I totally agree with you about what no one mentions. As an "older" tent camper I think about switching to a converted van for when I retire. But have always hesitated because of my "older lady" illnesses. Could I be in that confined space for extended periods? And you are right, most youtubers are not mentioning those difficulties/realities.
There’s a great book called Walden on Wheels about a guy who did a (pretty rudimentary) minimal van build to go to grad school debt free. He describes a week of a bad flu living alone in that van and it seemed desperately depressing and difficult. If I were going to do a van build for long-term living, I would def have this question in mind too.
This is by far the most beautiful, organized, and compact van I've ever seen. Everything has its place. No space is wasted. As a dog lover, thank you for putting Teller's safety and comfort as your first priority ❤

And a special thank you for your inspiration for doing art. At 68 years old, I have started (about 6 weeks ago) learning watercolor painting and colored pencil drawing. Your "art in the woods" video some time ago was my first introduction to illustrated journaling. Various other things in my life gave me the nudges I needed to just start. I've been doing watercolor tutorials and just this week started my illustrated journal. VERY rough and all only slightly better than when I was a child, but I am having so much fun. Thank you, Milo!!

I think this has got to be most well thought out Van Conversion I have ever seen. The switches for the batteries (and how you use them), the desk/kitchen counter, the aircooler for Teller + his bedroom, the little garage, solar panels (and also for a future expansion) and all the vents. What a wonderful Van, Thank you for sharing and I hope you'll enjoy this masterpiece for many years to come

I'm a travel bug and think it would be so fun to travel around the country in a van like yours. -Reminds me of the sense of freedom you have when traveling through Europe by train.

The whole van has an homey feel to it - and it shows that you really live in it.
Others maybe use it a few weeks for vacation - but you don't make compromises if you live in everyday. And you incorporate things you really love - like your copper items 😉

Milo, I absolutely love your van. I have never seen one so well personalized. One thing shouted out to me, however. Consider moving the fire extinguishers to the exit points. In the event of fire, you will run to a door, and then fight the fire. You have one of them tucked behind your furnace, a likely source of fire. Always save yourself and then the van.

Your van interior is probably one of the coziest-looking ones I've seen! I'm a sucker for fairy lights and I really like the ambience they bring into your camper van, warm and cozy like a safe nest. Dude, your build is awesome. I think this is quite possibly my favourite build and I've watched lots of these. I'd happily get cabin fever in your van, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with having a crock pot. Slow cookers make lovely meals!

Hey Milo & Teller - I was so so so looking forward to a complete roomtour of your new van, so am thrilled to see this. I am amazed, speechless and inspired by every single detail of this van. It is just incredbible, just like the previous one. Just have no words to express how fantastic it is all planned and worked out, and how wonderful it looks. You are a true Artist (with capital A)!! You seem really happy and I bet you enjoy all of this so much. I canhardly imagine that you would even consider selling this Life Work some day. I saw several of the smaller projects in previous videos, like the airco and so some things were not new, but still to see it all together in the entire Vanbuild it is all just amazing and works out so well.
You must have enormous patience to take so much time to make this. I hope you will have a roomtour with Bob Wells again, just like the last one, so you get more exposure and attention, that can also benefit your professional career. I love that *Teller* has his own space, too! The situation of your battery bank is smart- closest to the alternator AND extremely easy access from *INSIDE* the van and lots of room to manuever wires within it's container.
The one window is perfect! Privacy, with a view! And of course, your decorating is beautiful!
But the best part, or at least one of the 10 best parts, is the pocket door separating the cab from the van. I can't say enough about your build except *I LOVE IT* and thank you for sharing!!!

Hello Milo, Teller, and Brunswick,
My wife (Vicki) and I are semi-old duffers in our 60s. Vicki's father was USAF for 30 years, so her family moved every two-to-four years as her father's orders directed. She and I met in High School (class of 1981 - GO BRONCOS! ha!), married at 21, and then we spent 30 years in the USN (over 40-odd years together now). I joined the USN at 18, and through the duration of my service we moved roughly every seven years. We always tried to do a sea-and-shore rotation at each location so we didn't have to move as often. Throughout our lives, we have lived all over the world and have seen and experienced some really incredible things - from climbing a live volcano in Italy, a raging waterfall in Jamaica (we climbed it in heavy tropical rain and that water was ALIVE lemme tell ya), to traveling in countries that don't even exist anymore, to scuba diving while we lived in Cuba - our list really goes on and on.
Since we were both little kids, we've been involved in camping. I have seen pictures of my mother bathing me in a slide in the camper's sink when I was between one and two years old (1964 mebbe?). We've tent camped, then we got a pop-up, then a travel trailer, then another, then a motorhome, and now we have a van. We shopped vans all through COVID and when I say shopped, I mean we've watched hundreds, if not thousands of van builds, van tours, class B tours, tiny home tours, truck camper tours, off-road van tours, van-lifers; you name it, we've watched it. COVID was and is a big impact on both of us. Because of my service-related disabilities, we've been very isolated together - neither of us are vaccinated because my docs say it isn't worth the risk for us. As a result, social isolation and masks (real ones) are still a way of life for us. I'm immunosuppressed (transplant), so (to quote Alice In Chains) I Stay Away. As a result, we decided we'd get a small and more nimble little habitat so we could get out more but still retain our 'comfort zone' and privacy when we choose. We live in one of the most beautiful places we've ever seen, and we really love taking advantage of it. We are (occasional) ProMaster dwellers as well.
Why are we giving you all this information? So you can understand the mindset we have and where we are coming from when we tell you that you are an amazing, visionary, creative human being... BOTH of your vans have been such a joy to behold - not only because of the functionality which is itself just plain off-the-chart, but because of the way you make the van FEEL. Both Vicki and I want to put your van(s) on like a thick, cuddly, familiar sweater and wear it all day long. They are both so technically and innovatively functional, while at the same time are so warm, embracing, and just plain beautiful... From the lighting choices and the wood and stone textures, to the personalized art you've created to make it a home - it all comes together to create a one-of-a-kind Shangri-La. We love the Dottie & Brunswick binders too - the way you used your art to plan and execute your vision - it's all just so good...
We won't even start about the way you did the garage spaces. 30 years of aviation maintenance here - those spaces were/are ON POINT. Organized AND functional. Wow. We likey.
Finally, you and Teller go together like hand in glove. That you made his comfort and safety a priority throughout your build designs warmed our animal-loving hearts to overload. Looking at a Waggle right now BTW. Kitty-cat protection is important too ya know...
Randoms:
-You painted your screw heads. You're sick, but also bravo - we would have done the same.
-You have a bicycle under Teller's travel platform. WTH? Nice.
-We now want a June, and they are sold out everywhere. Of course they are. This is probably 100 percent YOUR fault. He-he.. Vicki is on the phone to find one. I'm not kidding.
-The "stone" work was indeed worth your effort - it looks perfect.
-Breaking out the artist's brush to do the paint trim on the overhead cabinet. Massive style points.
-Teller snuggling into his new space - we're at a loss for words. That clip will be priceless for the rest of your life. Trust me on this one.
-Love how you made Teller's house a 'home' complete with beautiful pictures and A/C. Teller has A/C and you don't. This would be us too.
-(Installing Zerobreeze drain hose) My what a large drill bit you have... hehe...
-Who owns the TW in the garage (being nosey)? What a great little bike. One of the best for tooling around and having fun on.
Please excuse the long comment. Also excuse the typos please. I plead medication. It's hard to trust my typing while I'm also watching your van build... haha... Your videos are some of the most entertaining and, I don't know, calming and peaceful shows we've found. Better than AMSR...

My favorite features are the binders filled with every ounce of info you could remotely ever need, adjustable height generous desk, monitor on an arm, woodland window, vents, garage and most of all, Teller's amazing dog bedroom. You thought through every detail very carefully, did your homework and kept to your design, which is absolutely gorgeous. I'll have to go back and review the build.
