haha it's all good! They sound better with a few miles on them.
Like with all exhaust its subjective. Running a set of real old school glass packs/cherry bombs is good for this era of truck. Once the packing gets burned out it'll be louder yet. Just like they used to.

Matter of opinion for sure, everyone has their own taste. To me glass packs have a great sound at idle and midrange but top end is a little rappy for me. Good video and exhaust work !

This is an exciting build. Like everyone else it’s an inspiration to get back to my 84 long bed with a stock 305 TPI and dual exhaust with 40 series flow masters. All fuel injected and the computer also. Those glass packs are sweet!! Oh, my truck has over 600,000 miles on it.

Damn Robbie, Mississippi Mud sounds great. I have a 1989 C1500 with a 383 Stroker equipped with Black Widow, Widow Makers. Yes, I like 'em loud and rowdy 🇺🇲🏁

I did a 2.5 on my 76 D100, Hearthrob pipes and glasspacks, turn out in from of the rear tires...sounded great but the drone on the freeway got me. Swapped for a set of Turbo Thrush, and absolutely love the sound now. This thing is sweat!

Remember those thrushs from the 70s. EVeryone had those with turndowns before the axle, fav exh sound to this day.

Not at all. Cam is a @lunatillc Bootlegger cam with .485 lift, 108 LSA, & 269/296 duration. Heads are @summitracing aluminum sbc 64cc heads with 200cc intake runner and 2.02/1.06 valves.

Two things I didn’t notice the first time ….. the tire spin while loading it the first time. AND Mike’s beard is a perfect match for the patina, what a beautiful man !!!!

personally I love glass packs but I do feel like they put ones that are too short. My favorite are the thrush 29 inch glass packs, loud but only when you get on it; they sound beautiful!
Love it! My '76 has some ooooold glasspacks on it and they sound great. Once yours break in a bit they'll mellow and sound awesome.

When thos trucks were new guys would do similar..full exh with glasspacks or Thrush turbos and turndowns before the rear end .Fav sound to this day

Like the old school glass packs with SBC. What kind of mpg are you swinging with the sbc linked to the 4L?
Hey, hey! Haven't had a real good, real world test - even though we've already driven it cross-country (conditions changed too much) - but best I've gotten so far is 15.2mpg. It'll get better I bet. Already want to put in a 6L80 for more gear in first but double overdrive to get 80 mph rpm down from 2350 to around 1800. More on that to come.
I know it was probably to loud in person but on video it sounded so cool straight pipe 👍
haha thanks, John! I agree. Pretty loud open and with glasspacks but the full exhaust run out back makes it much quieter in the cab.

My 64 C10 has Vette 2 1/4" ramhorns, 2 1/4" head pipes, Cherrybombs, 2" tailpipes and 18" long 3" diameter echo cans.
