We take you along on some square body action as we lower Hannah‘s 1987 Chevy with a 6.2 diesel in it.. Budget build!! #corywheatcustoms #chevrolet #diesel
Exactly! Using that post while lowering the lift is not safe. Corey, remember when a new truck almost fell on you off of a lift? And we wonder why. We DO NOT want y'all to get hurt!
You can put air bags in place of the front coil springs. For the dash I use to pull it out get a can of spray glue and put whatever cool fabric I picked out just laying it on and cutting and folding the edges . My old SB was all zebra print.
My dad the service manager at Chevy dealer call it a Generic Made Chevy. He also said he’d get new Chevy trucks with GMC tailgates on them. When he was doing this in the 80s he told me that they built both trucks on the same line.
I did a flip kit on the rear and when we were done we got thirsty,so we popped the tail lights on the frame and ended up in a watering hole down the road,it was myself and 2 buddys who went there and when we were leaving they kept telling me to see if it would hookup with no bed, well lets just say it hooked up ok and ended up breaking the drive shaft and i had to have my truck towed home, thank God i had a buddy who came meet us and drag my truck for me.
You lowered it more than you think , you just put on larger tires. If they where on for first measurement it would have be higher in front Measure the height difference between the 2 sets of tires and add that to your 1 1/2 ...it will be closer to the rear measurement
The "C " notches are for suspension travel when you load the bed........ It gives you the suspension travel when you corner or go down the road and you got bumps etc
I've done a lot of GM suspension work in my life... Next time leave the spindle assembly attached to the upper arm. Use a wire and hang the upper A arm from the frame and loosen the lower ball joint nut. Remove shock and sway bar from lower arm. Use a floor jack to compress and get the lower ball joint nut loose and then release pressure and the lower arm will swing down so the spring can come out. Half the work half the time and safer.
You can get a fiberglass cowl scoop for the hood they’re pretty cheap. Also I would get small baby moon hubcaps instead of a Chevy or GMC for those 20 inch rims.
@SethHollingshead fiberglass repair kit or fiberglass resin with some fleece, and we'd do door panels, kick panels, and we did and still do this to other parts of interiors with this method. We been doing this for close to 30 yeara
I watch a TH-camr called pudding's Fab shop and he has jacks he puts on the each end of his vehicle when it's on that racket stabilize it That's what you guys need
Front coils have a “D” shaped pocket up in the crossmember that has to be indexed for the coil to set all the way down. I never worry how it sets in the control arm. You really need a taller coil spring and a drop spindle. Front bump stops need to be cut down or removed. And shorter front shocks and rear shock extensions for better shock angle and travel with a stock length rear shock. You can make these truck ride good , but you have to do more than you did in this video.
Straight up awesomeness! Lovin the sqr body plus anyone can do their style and it’s still a SB ! Waiting on next week’s appointment 😅 with y’all. Scott. Metro Atlanta
I know Louisiana has a head light height,i had a chevy luv that was slammed and had a full snug and had a walk through cab with 4 15s in a wall and on the weekends we would pull the rubber bump stops off and it would pick up road reflectors and lets just say, roadkill got to be a problem at times too lmao
Well Hannah was fired up, GMC hub caps and big nipples lol. The stance on the square body is great and the white steelies and tires make a big difference. Oh, can't wait to see the color change on the truck.
I don't like the nose diving on those trucks I like them level but I don't like them real low either I like them factory stance myself with the Riley wheels on them that came out on but it's whatever you like it is your truck so build it the way you want it
Your rear drop is the total of the flip kit and shorter rear tires. Easier to measure at the center of the wheel to the fender lip. 1/2 coil cut up front is usually 1” drop. Not to be critical,… but you should have watched some TH-cam videos on doing this. There are tons of videos out there to do it safer and easier.
Looks great guys. You can only get a true measurement if you put the other wheels on. That’s how you took your first measurement. The new wheels were larger.
I use automatic transmission fluid and acetone 50/50 mix to spray on rusted bolts and nuts. The acetone eats the rust and the atf works as a thin lubricant to work into the threads.
Tan and buckskin go well with any color paint for your seats these colors are rich next to-teal . You would really like a buckskin. I have been in the upholstery business my whole life age 72 . Hotrods custom interiors . Older trucks look sweet in solid paint color as well . Vintage!
Iv cut springs so many times. Its fine..lowering spring has less give alot if the times and most times its a better rude up to 2 full coils...i had an 02 2dr blaze i cut 2 coils and 4"pinion angled blocks rear..gosh it rode like a caddy.
So 2 coils in the front. and leave out the frame cut in the rear. I'm impressed with your results. Let us know who is going to redo your seats. Hardest guy to find,
If you ever need chevy sheet metal let me know too. Sale that Thang. God I'm doing one now. Idk just not crazy about them. The metal is thin the roof is sooooo flimsy. It's like 10 Guage alllll around. Anyways love u guys. Doing a good job. Hotttt wife too lol u lucky. Came a long way since 2yrs ago I started following when u hit her viking with a fork lift lol.
Hannah make that man some persimmon pudding, bread ,or cake just make sure they are ripe. You can make corry eat a green one on camera 😂. They are a big thing here in the south and everybody has a different recipe for something to do with them.
I'm liking tealbecause it goes great with rusted patina. AND IM A GUY ! And if I were you ,I'd listen to Hannah ,she's not gonna steer you wrong . When you're in Cally , come see me ,gotta f 100 ,1956 same age as me .
Yall are awesome guys although I hear your build my build sounds more like business partners which is alright if yall are comfortable with that !!! It's all good as long as yall are happy no judgement here just please just don't forget you are husband and wife first lol
Invest in some adjustable pole jacks you’ll use them time and time again, worth the investment for safety and convenience. Cory is very fortunate to have an amazing life partner, authentic the two of you working together in the shop.
Truck stance looks amazing. To really know how much you lowered it you need to put back the same wheels/tires that it had on when you did the original measurement and then measure. You need to compare apples to apples. After that you can put back those white steelies!
Someone is going to get hurt. That’s a jacked up way to get the springs out. Cory, you make it look hard.

The influence of Puddin's Fab Shop is strong here with the white steelies and caps.
he should do whites on his old ford and or whitewalls.
Flat Steele's don't look the same, ugly ..
To me..
I love the wheels and caps with the lowered look.

Y'all need some tall, adjustable, lift style jack stands. That whole lowering the truck down onto a post was cringe worthy ... LOL
The "C " notches are for suspension travel when you load the bed........
It gives you the suspension travel when you corner or go down the road and you got bumps etc
It's always nice to see your smile Hannah.
Cory n Hannah you did a great job with Hannah's Pic up
Thanx for sharing your Great experience 👍and thoughts 👍
Have a Great Day 👍
You were scaring me with that coil spring job. It sure looked like you had never worked on coils. Glad you got it done without getting hurt
Wheels & tires make a vehicle most of the time.
Watching this gave me a stress headache! 😬😬😬😬
Hit the side of the spindle with a big hammer and ball joint will come loose without the damaging ball joint boot.

Yes this is the safe way to do it. Done it a few times myself.
You can get a fiberglass cowl scoop for the hood they’re pretty cheap. Also I would get small baby moon hubcaps instead of a Chevy or GMC for those 20 inch rims.
Miss Hanna that is so fun bad ass building square shorty, so cool trucks , love project you two.
I used to fill those dashes and then texture them and paint them, and the door and kick panels to match
Fill with what? It's foam and vinyl
@SethHollingshead fiberglass repair kit or fiberglass resin with some fleece, and we'd do door panels, kick panels, and we did and still do this to other parts of interiors with this method. We been doing this for close to 30 yeara

Hello Cory . Need to see a update on the green c10 Chevy truck . From Mt Morris Michigan , Gordon WALKER
Front coils have a “D” shaped pocket up in the crossmember that has to be indexed for the coil to set all the way down. I never worry how it sets in the control arm.

Great improvement... see you next week 🇬🇧
Great video! Love the square body. Keep up the great work.
The way the C10 sits before work is called a California Rake.
Well Hannah was fired up, GMC hub caps and big nipples lol. The stance on the square body is great and the white steelies and tires make a big difference. Oh, can't wait to see the color change on the truck.
The spring you caught it 2 1/2 👍👍
Good job on the lowering!
You all need shorter shocks in the front and rear. Or shorter shocks in the front and shock bracket extenders in the rear.
If you guys read this I hope you really will consider a two-tone teal and white white roof teal body and white side stripe like the old Chevys.
Um you pretty much nailed it stay tuned haha
No tool is ever wasted.
I don't like the nose diving on those trucks I like them level but I don't like them real low either I like them factory stance myself with the Riley wheels on them that came out on but it's whatever you like it is your truck so build it the way you want it
Happy Square Body Wednesday!!!!!
Looks awesome now !!!!
It looks great !! Nice to budget builds for us
OMG truck looks AWESOME!
Looking awesome 👍👍😎😎😊

Love that Square Body
The “Leg” measurement system is well known in the lowered truck community.😎
heck ya looks much better
Looks great guys. You can only get a true measurement if you put the other wheels on. That’s how you took your first measurement. The new wheels were larger.

Like the black
A lot of work for a few inches 😛 guys! Looks very good. Maybe sometime Hannah do a play list of your greatest hits..👍 Love from us two in the UK.
Those universal lowering kits r for all the trucks from a half ton to a 1 ton truck. Thats why they send extra long u bolts in the kits.
GMC = God , Mother , Country
Thanks for the lesson on lowering! I dig it!! In my humble opinion, Y’all really need to spend the money on a dash pad. ✌️
Cory, you could have went to Oh Oh Oh O'Reilly
and just rented a spring compressor
The pickup turned out purty schaweet
Awesome job take another 1/2 coil out of the front ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉
So 2 coils in the front. and leave out the frame cut in the rear. I'm impressed with your results.
Let us know who is going to redo your seats. Hardest guy to find,
The truck 🛻 best thing in video
Good job on the stance. Looks great.
