I learned the hard way those bearing carriers are made from kind of soft metal. The last F22 manual I got at the junkyard, when I tried to remove the intermediate shaft, it was kind of stuck in there, so put my pry bar in there in kind of pry barred it out. Later when I went to change the bearing and seals on the carrier, I couldn't get the bearing or seals to press in properly. When I looked at the carrier up close, my pry bar had left a perfect square indention in the thin outer part of the carrier assy, so there were 2 spots where the thing wasn't quite round anymore. I was able to machine it back into usable shape, but it was not a fun time.
The same reason why l stop hammering it in. Good thing l found the old bearing after 4x going thru my parts bin and it made everything went easy. I guessed we all have our 1st time and learned a lesson well. Thanks for sharing man!
I'm very curious about a few past post, the m2s4 transmission with the 5th gear from p2a8, how well has that held up rpms/speed per gear. Also the acura rl calipers work out for your carz and front to rear bias or just put them on and good to go
The 5th gear swap on M2s4 tranny is working good, still holding up. As far as rpm cruising speed on fwy, it's excellent. After the swap, it took a bit of time for me to sink in that l frequently have to upshift or downshift (4th-5th-4th) when driving on surface street. After a while, it's like normal driving, constant shifting dont bother me anymore. I recommend the swap if you're using m2s4 and hi rpm on 5th gear bother you a bit. It's like having a 6th gear.
For the RL calipers, braking was no issue. It was under braking to begin with and having a H22 swap, rl calipers are perfect for it. I thought about getting the rear brake rotor a upgrade ( a bit larger rotor) but l need to have a bigger spare wheel if l make a rear upgrade otherwise, if l a have flat tire, l'll get stranded somewhere do l never do it. It'll look great to fill up the wheel space and it'll look symetrical. Maybe someday.
The last episode, l said l'm having issue about a grinding when l shift to 5th gear and l'm goin to open it and check it out. That's unrelated to 5th gear swap. Something l did wrong on bearing installation and problem arised after the dyno session. I opened that m2s4 tranny and l thought l fixed the bearing issue. I should have changed the 5th- reverse hub and sleeve at the same time but ended up replacing the sleeve only and the grinding issue appeared after that. If you are thinking of doing 5th gear swap, dont worry, it'll be worth it. One advise from me, make sure that the bearing will be put on correctly. I learned a lot from my mistake by incorrectly installing the bearing. The bearing l mentioned was the one on input shaft. Hope that help you out.
@sagittnet2158 yes I am boosted h22 and have a p2a8 trans in there now, recently got a m2s4 from mp, I'm going to pull my 5th gear out and swap it over. Trying to get a 5th from a donor is proving hard. I want to have a spare trans
I was planning to do a k-swap on my 93 prelude, but after seeing your videos I think I will do a g build, can I make a g23 with a h23a2 block? Or I need to have a f23?
If you use your H23a2 bliock, you'll be building almost like a H23a Bluetop. I recommend if you do start the build, try to use or get a H23a bluetop pistons coz it'll perfect for it. Other wise if you use a H22 piston, it'll stick out pass the block about 0.020"(31mm piston ht vs H23a bluetop piston 30.5mm) Watch my vlog about "best piston to use for H series stroker" and all info is there. Use only OE piston on frm liner block unless your H23a2 block has iron sleeve. Your H23a2 block have a oil supply orifice that need to be remove before you put the H22 head. Reason for it, coz it need all the oil supply it can get when it goes to vtec mode. Good luck. Your idea is almost as like having a g23, the only difference is not iron sleeve.

I notice you have a Hawaii license plate on your work bench. Nani Hanalei!
My son was stationed there at Pearl Harbor, it was his plate. Mahalo cousin.
Bro your awesome 👌 😊
Thanks

Once l open the m2s4 tranny, you'll see it.
