Dune has been my favorite novel since first reading it as a child around forty years ago... this film is already on the list of my favorite films of all time. “No more terrible disaster could befall your people than for them to fall into the hands of a Hero” ― Frank Herbert, Dune
Jessica got given all memories of every reverend mother like thousands upon thousends of years of personal memories from thousand of reverend mothers so that means all of that that happened to Jessica also happen to the baby before she was born or had her own personality a real tragedy.
You’re correct, chani is correct. Paul became the messiah he feared he’d become. No he leads the freman to a giant war where billions will die around the empire
“I AM PAUL MUAD'DIB ATREIDES, DUKE OF ARRAKIS. THE HAND OF GOD BE MY WITNESS, I AM THE VOICE FROM THE OUTER WORLD!" gangsta....but terrible lmao 🤣 nothin but death and destruction after that.
@@raulportela3039 Yes, but read on further and you'll find out what the alternative was... (death of EVERYONE, the complete extinction of humanity). In the end, Paul couldn't do it, couldn't walk the Golden Path, his son had to finish the job for him...
Muad’Dib’s Jihad had better be in Dune Messiah or extensively covered in flashbacks or I will riot. Paul wasn’t just a man, he became a living god to the people of the known universe and his actions whilst living would ultimately save humanity’s future
@@billholder1330 I know that's in the books, but honestly that is a ret con that contradicts Frank's original themes with the first 2 books. I understand he decided he wanted to write about something else, but I choose to ignore that story beat in my head canon because it really feels like a betrayal of the original themes.
After paul n chani kiss for the first time on the sand dune after that scene we get a montage of paul n chani n fighting the spice harvesters that whole montage was showing over a few months. So next scene paul is about to ride the worm its been a few months n the montage showed u clips of over the few months.
-Poor Chani. BUT, at the end of the book, lady Jessica pulls Chani aside and tells her “history will remember us as wives” she explains princess Irulan who is technically Paul’s wife, will never feel tenderness or love from Paul, and she will live as “less than a concubine”. Meanwhile the ones who the great leaders, Leto I and Paul, loved in reality were the unofficial wives. -In Paul's holy war casualties were 61 billion lives, the sterilization of ninety planets, and the "demoralization" of five hundred additional worlds. I think the worms can't see very well. They can smell, and sense movement, but a silent, unmoving target might not be easy for them to lunge at over rock.
I think I agree if I heard right that you're saying 80% for part 2 and 90% for 1? I'm on more of a 10/10 and 9/10 scale for them but I did like part 1 more as a book reader. It had more world building and small character moments and details.
In the book they would never leave foot prints the last guys is supposed to dust the prints away as they move thru the desert i dont know why its not done in the film.
I think it's implied they did it on purpose in the first scene as part of the ambush (but Paul and Jessica weren't aware of it). In other scenes, like when they jump Gurney, there are no tracks around the concealed Fedaykin.

And see where most of today’s worshipping society sits on the bar of “morality”. Stories like this come back into play for a reason.
They can float, not really fly. It’s the same technology that allows Baron Von Fattass to float around.

Those words caused the death of over 60 billion people. Fucking unreal.

That “death and destruction” was the best possible outcome. Other options were worse.
The Baron's death was justifiably fateful, but what was tragic for him was that he never got to revel that the empire falls to a Harkonnen
Paul is the only non-Fremen to ever ride a worm. That is the big deal.
As written.

If you remember in the first film, the worm could have killed Paul but did not, it stood there and looked at him, until someone set off a thumper.
Worms cannot travel across rock.

at 19:00 they came up last second to avoid the ornithopter gunner for as long as possible
Mic is on point in this reaction btw 🤙💜
May thy blade chip and shatter.
This reaction was too much fun. "Roly Poly!"
If there's two films per book we've got another 12 films to go.
Feyd Rautha was this movie! I never thought anything could top the "Assemble" scene from Avengers Endgame, but this did just that.
