bro is one of the few reactors who actually listened to what was said in the movie and followed the story insted of just looking at moving pictures and colors
hes not getting that Pual is not the good guy here....
@@Elios0000 at 54:40 he says 'Paul i like you but you gotta chill you dont wanna be evil' so i think he knows instinctually at least.
That half Harkonnen thing kind of tipped him off.
he does not listen real close though.
@@BlackDeathThrash He does great compared to alot of other popular channels
That feeling you had at the end of this movie is the exact feeling Frank Herbert, the original author of the books wanted you to feel. The moral of the story is that you shouldn't blindly trust charismatic leaders.
Good job picking up the fact that the Bene Gesserit were still in play at the end, you're the only reactor I've seen who picked up on that.
Religious ones for sure
@@geofftottenperthcoys9944 and politicians.
Fortunately, nothing like this in current politics…no charismatic politicians creating cult followers…
It is amazing how this warning still applies in this election year.
“I’m countin kills on Paul” well it’s boutta get real hard to keep track😭
Counter bout to max tf out💀
@@itsthatmemelowell "Statistics: at a conservative estimate, I've killed sixty-one billion, sterilized ninety planets, completely demoralized five hundred others. I've wiped out the followers of forty religions..."

I saw this film in IMAX. IT WAS INCREDIBLE!! Dune: Part 2 is easily the best film of 2024. Great reaction Leo! 👍🏿
I missed it :(
I hope they do a re release
@Wiwcharizard I'm betting that alot of theaters will do a double feature or re-release both films independently prior to the 3rd films release.
Best of about the last 5 years.
That would be amazing because Part One was one of the worst films of that year (despite what all the drooling sheep calling themselves "critics" these days said about it).
How can you make this claim when 2024 isn't even half over yet?
Remember at the end of the opening narration of Part 1, Chani asked who their new oppressor would be? The first thing the camera showed after that line was Paul.
26:03 "The one cannot have Harkonnen blood, that's impossible"
Oh really now? lol
read this as he said it lol, if only he knew at the time
Jessica : (whisper) Slow down
Paul : KING KONG AIN'T GOT SHIT ON ME
My ninja…Harkonnen fighter
Paul's secret name, "Usul", is a word for the foundation/base of a pillar, that holds everything else up, and his war name "Muad'Dib", the kangaroo mouse of Arrakis, is also a constellation that points to their North Star, AkA "The One Who Points the Way", another way of saying leader, SO, Paul Muad'Dib Usul, AkA "Paul, the one who points the way, and is the foundation that holds us all up"... also, the Harkonnens planet is orbiting a black sun, so with that and their ozone layer, it makes an old school filter on the whole planet, so under the suns rays, everything is shades of blacks, greys, and whites, but away from the suns rays, they have colours...
Stilgar is the ultimate hype-man/homie: he'll believe in you even when you don't believe in yourself!
Religion poisons everything.
Good reaction. BTW, you should also react to the Dune miniseries that came out in the year 2000, which you can find it easily and freely on TH-cam, that one is the most faithful adaptation of the book, so it would be interesting to compare the two. And if you want to know what happened to the characters after the first story, you can react to the sequel "Children of Dune (2003)".
I read Dune 40 years ago. Love that people are finally getting turned on to it.
So much great syfy from back in the day is still out there! Dig away!
The 1960s and the late 80s to mid 90s have some of the most interesting world building sci-fi books ever written.
hell yeah old fans loving new attention instead of gatekeeping ‼‼💪💪
@IrrelevantPerson gatekeepers do seem very petty.
I would love to see a film version of Herbert's Destination: Void/Jesus Incident. The AI aspects of those books seem really relevant today.
man this was an all-time great sci-fi movie. can’t wait for the third one
FYI, the gladiator slaves fighting the Baron’s nephew aren’t Atreides by blood. They’re called Atreides because it’s the house they serve.
I didn’t understand the first movie that much until my third viewing, but the second film got me excited so much. This is one of the greatest movies of all time.
I agree. It's the greatest science fiction movie I've ever seen. Might be the best fiction I've ever seen. The only movies I'd put above it were adaptations of events which happened in real life. Just my personal ratings, I'm not trying to convince anyone else to adopt them.
Bro I love that you say Harkonnen correctly
Most satisfying part of this movie to me was when Paul silenced the head witch
Your hair looks amazing, Leo.
man, I'm a fan of the books and of Villeneuve (director of both films) I loved your reaction and I'm glad that you loved the films and that you watched the work that influenced Matrix, Avatar, Game of Thrones and, obviously, STAR WARS. In addition to enjoying the rise of a villain.
Paul walking into the meeting in the south is the best score and scene I’ve seen in a long time. Up there with the ride of the rohirrim in return if the king and the first battle in 300
I wish they didn’t rush through the part where Paul drinks the water of life and his change into “the one” because it’s so much more impactful and deep than what the movie shows. They also changed up Chani and Paul’s relationship towards the end, don’t know if I, okay with that so I’ll have to wait and see what happens in Messiah. Overall a great film though, but I encourage everyone to at least read the first book.
yeh and they were afraid to give the correct, according to the book, name for the coming war - Jihad. A war that will take the lives of millions, life on dozens of planets will be completely exterminated. It’s not very politically correct to give such an action the name “Jihad” (even though it perfectly matches the given action and lore), it’s better to call it in a "Christian way" (holy war/holy grail/holy mary etc) =))
I feel like Dave Batista’s character was killed off a little too soon too. I think he could have put up a little bit more of a fight
At least, in previous movies Rabban lasted longer, long enough to be beheaded by the emperor. @theneighbor4209
I'm okay with Chani's change from the book because her personality fits the shortened timeline. She didn't have years with Paul and losing a child to shape her mentality. As you said, we'll have to wait for how their relationship unfolds in Messiah before making a final judgement on her character and their relationship.
The alia change however....that was great imo. It made Lady Jessica more terrifying.
@@chaost4544 Yes, absolutely! I’m so happy with how they portrayed his sister and Jessica, it’s great.
"The Harkonnen are dropping like flies!" It's literally......raining men 😂
Shout out to Paul Schafer.
I like your reactions, bro. Keep up the good work!
Bro keep up the good work, big fan from Brazil

Paul knew what would happen if he gave them what he wanted. He fought the Bene Gesserit plan as much and as long as he could before going south and drinking the Water of Life.
The books go into it more, but the Atreides line, and others, have been bred to have special genes. It's why the Bene Gesserit had a breeding program. To distill those genes into usability. Paul was gifted with the ability to foresee the future through dreams and act accordingly, but he was not exact in it. Like how he knew that Duncan would find the Fremen, and how Paul instinctively knew how to fit his stillsuit on his first try. All he knew for sure from his dreams was that if he went south and drank the Water of Life as he saw himself doing in his dreams was that after did so, he would no longer be in control of his life, that the knowledge and abilities he would unlock would lead to the deaths of billions of people.
He did not want to do it.
The movie version of Chani is barely more than Chani in name only. Movie version is nothing like the book version. Chani was ride or die to the end with Paul. She was Paul's support, verbally, emotionally, all of it from the moment he proved himself a Fremen by riding the worm. She liked him before that, but she allowed herself to love him after he proved himself as a Fremen.
She was not a disrespectful nasty little naysayer that ignored what he said that abandoned him out of petty jealousy, especially since Paul had warned her beforehand of what he would have to do after the Fremen forces triumphed over the Emperor. She knew Paul was still hers. There was never any doubt in her mind.
A devoted woman who believes in her man’s purpose don’t play well with these modern audience. SMH
"This spice stuff is serious."
Perfect summation.
Not gonna lie when Paul said he would marry that princess, I was heartbroken like chani was. Left the movie theater mad af. 😂😂 I understand why he did it but still he would’ve had to fight me right there
In the books Paul outright tells Chani ahead of time that he's going to marry the princess but it's only a political marriage. There's no feelings there whatsoever, all of the love, affection and children are reserved for Chani and all the princess will ever know is being cold and alone.
@@twohorsesinamancostume7606 thank you for context I’ve only seen these 2 movies so didn’t know that much but I’m still mad lol
@@misskatlee in the book, Jessica says that yes, Irulan is Paul's wife but history will see that Jessica (for Leto I) and Chani (for Paul). Will be the wives. That's why I hated the ending so much for Part 2.
@zackarymccurren8643 yeah they kinda fucked the ending up but at this point messiah is going to be hella different from the book so whatever
@@misskatlee It's the reality of politics. Not every narrative has to end with a happy ending.
“The worm needs some water”
Actually water is lethal to the worms. That’s why they are on this planet. In fact, the worms made sure that the water was gone.
Por outro lado, a morte do verme na água dá origem às trutas da areia que dâo origem aos vermes....
Maybe he wanted to offend Shani, so that she wouldn't go with them to war, so that she'd stay safe. The more I rewatch this movie, the more interesting things I see.
He didn't get overconfident with his power, one of his visions before fighting Feyd was about a knife stuck in him, that same knife, same angle. He knew the only way to defeat this maniac was to make him lose focus, become overconfident, so he wouldn't see the final blow.
It's hard not to see him as Messiah when he checked every box Fremen could have had.
And when Gurni said "The Great Houses refuse to honour you ascendancy", he showed no surprise at all.
I like that he seems pained but resigned to his future when he tells Stilgar to "lead them to paradise." In Messiah (which starts over a decade after this and he has been emperor all this time) he talks about being conflicted. Essentially the Fremen start waging a holy war in his name on many planets that just gets way beyond his control. The books are great and go into much more depth obviously. The Chani angle is completely different though, as she sticks with him completely throughout everything. Irulan is his wife in name only in the books, and Chani (his concubine technically) is his one love and he will only ever be with her.
He talked about marrying the Emperor‘s daughter back in the first movie. He knows it‘s the smartest political move. It had nothing to do with Chani really. In the books, Jessica reassures Chani that she‘ll still be the one he loves, just like Leto‘s heart belonged to Jessica even though she wasn‘t married to him.
I really hope that the next film does so well that they (audiences and producers) want more from the Dune universe. I would love to see Duke Leto II the Worm God Emperor on the big screen. Also some fans/book readers think the the throaty deep voice at the beginning of each film is Duke Leto the second retelling the stories from his genetic memory for the audience.
BG show coming out too it’s looking likely obviously David won’t be apart of it but I think it will keep going in shows or movies
Denis has said that it's the Sardukar.
Paul is the main character for sure. That doesn't mean he's a good guy though. The original book is thought to inspire Star Wars and if you remember Anakin Skywalker started out as a good guy originally too.
I just stumbled across one the best reaction channel I’ve ever seen! 😂😂😂 Bro your commentary was EVERYTHING! 😂 Just gained a new subscriber man. This guy is hillllarious.
Nice, you completely understood the film.
Great reaction Leo! Truly one of the best reactions ive seen to this movie. And you're right; the holy war is DEFINITELY a bad thing!
"The One can't have Harkonnen blood!"
um.... yeah. About that....
If you'd like a simple example from the other pop-cultural milestone that's based on the novels:
Paul's *not* Luke Skywalker but *Anakin.*
To be a bit blunt: Paul as Mahdi and as heir of the Atreides Dukedom is truly no different than the Harkonnen and all the other Great Houses, including house Corrino (that's the imperial house), but one single fact: He has religious control of the insanely powerful Fremen legions who are now involved in a holy war against the rest of the Empire and evidently are capable of besting the Sardaukar, who where the Emperor's trump card and the reason he retained the throne, in the field - there's simply *nothing any-more* to stop him from doing what he *believes he needs to do* as the Dark Messiah now holding the Golden Lion Throne.
Best regards
Raoul G. Kunz
Love what you do Leo! I love re-watching movies with your commentary.
I absolutely adore your reaction. You made me smile, and i loved your reactions!!
You really gone all in to Dune haven't you? 😂 Guessing and supposing and understanding. 😂😂❤
15:34 Paul is straight up using Duncan’s fighting style against these Harkonnens. That drop slide and attack the legs was used by Duncan in his last stand against the Sardaukar.
you getting tickled every time Stilgar makes a quip is so funny
you are absolutely my favorite reactor. I was impressed about your insights about dune. You knew all the names of the characters, you mentioned the water of life and the baby well before anyone else I've seen, you knew gurney's name when he reappeared. Good reaction. My favorite reaction of yours is Beastie Boys - 3 Mcs... "Beasties!!!!!" lol and now.... "Sardukey bastartds yall better run!"
Smashed like & subscribed.
Awesome reaction of my favorite Dune movie!!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊
When in sar this for the first time in IMAX the worm scene was overwhelming but MY GOD… The Harkonnen arena scene and the speech scene?!?
My jaw was on the floor
I'm with you. Seeing this movie, I felt things I've never felt before in a theater. And the scene with Margot Fenring/Feyd just reeked of seduction even though there was no nudity or even a kiss. Such a contrast to the hyper violence of the gladiator arena. Both scenes were on the Harkonnen world and the feeling one gets from them are polar opposites. Villeneuve and everyone else who worked on this film just killed it, it's a masterpiece.
They’re filming #3 right now, can’t wait!
My fave reaction channel
It's so sad that I didn't get to see this in IMAX. Best movie since the LOTR trilogy.
Leo al-Gaib be like *_"YOU react to ME! I'm the show!"_*
Watching this now with you guys is now my 3rd time and won’t be my last, this franchise got me hooked like the that 70’s crew did with Star Wars these movies are top tier and I can’t wait to see further installments
One thing that the movie doesn’t mention is that because Feyd is an almost Kwitzach Haderach like Paul, Paul can’t see him in the future. He actually goes into this fight not knowing everything. So this literally is the first time he has seen Feyd. Because of this blocking of his vision, Feyd has a pretty even change of defeating Paul.
In the books there is one other person with this ability as well - Count Hasimir Fenring. He is the husband of Margot Fenring who seduced Feyd. Fenring is also the best friend and secret personal assassin to Emperor. He too is an almost Kwitzach Haderach and could potentially defeat Paul in single combat.
After Paul ends Feyd, Emperor Shaddam tells Fenring to attack Paul. However, when Fenring looks at Paul, he sees the being he could have become had it not been for a genetic abnormality. Fenring is a genetic eunuch and can’t sire children. He has also been trained by Lady Margot in some of the Bene Gesserit ways. So looking at Paul Fenring senses a kinship and can’t bring himself to hurt him. For the first time in his life, Fenring refuses to kill for Shaddam and just gives Paul a nod.
The director actually did film scenes with Count Fenring but left them on the cutting floor to trim down the run time of the movie.
This all for the Green Paradise that the Lisan Al-Giab will lead us too with this holy war -
As Written
"We're Harkonnens" is like this movie's "Luke, I am your father."
more the other way around....
Dune (the books) preceded Star Wars. Star Wars copied quite a few elements of Dune. Actually nothing the matter with that, but let's get it straight who's imitating whom.
You've been saying that you want to read more. Try Dune. I think you'll love it.
You looked at them as good people! Think again! Will see in a couple years.
When Mr Video posts.... "Lisan al Gaib.... Lisan al Gaib!!!"
YES IT IS AMAZING! And it's about time for some new music and m/v drop from you. "Watch me do my sandwalk" is catchy as he'll ✌🏾😉
This was a great reaction! Loved every minute of it and this film is a masterpiece!
"Paul just got laid...🙄" 🤣 🤣 🤣
I think you got the bad turn part of the end, but maybe you don't completely understand. The Water of Life doesn't bring Paul confidence, it gives Paul total omniscience of the future paths, all of them. And they are all bad, with just one being less bad (the Holy War, which shows how bad the worst paths must have been). The gift of seeing everything in all its horror is not a good thing to have, and Paul will suffer from it later, as pretty much everyone else does too, even though the eventual goal is a good one for humanity.
You got excited when the sadookie and the free man started fighting
Hi Mr V, been looking forward to this one. Hope you well. Hugs for Bella and love to you and your family ❤
I wouldn't call Sardaukar weak by any means, I'd say they're equal to Fedaykin. It's just that they were vastly outnumbered and are used to fighting with shields. And their formations were broken after the getting bricked to the face by the explosions
The "Worm-Pump" is called "STÖTS". (Yes, palindrome). It's from the IKEA, just outside of Arakeen.
the sandworms are actually an anhydrous lifeform - they live without water. water actually poisons them and causes them to produce the water of life. in the book, paul marries the princess, but he makes it absolutely plain to chani that irulan will have nothing of him but his name. this ending was messed up.
My absolutely favorite reaction to this movie. You understood completely about Paul and your commentary was absolutely hilarious! You're one of the best channels I've seen!
the baby she will be born with all the powers and knowledge of a Reverand Mother. Paul was and became a reluctant messiah, it is not what he wanted ... the water of life changed him into what he was destined to be. His story is a tragic one, the Benni Gesserat are the true villain of this tale.
"Paul talking to his sister in his mother's stomach" sent me lmao. I don't think that's where baby are supposed to be
Great reaction!!
Question: if Paul saw the fight in his visions and he knew how it would end…
Was it a fair fight?
42:59 Paul is looking seconds into his near future and repeating back what he sees himself saying. Some viewers think he is reading other people’s minds. He isn’t its just using precognition.
I need a stranger things fix!!!
I really enjoyed this reaction.
After a long day's work, I get home and see this upload... Thank you Mr. Video!!! (:
LEO AL GAIB 🙌🔥🍻
My only issue with the 2 films is were told how respected the Atredies are as a house etc, even after learning from the harrkoneons that the emperor has sent the saudokar to Ararkis & how the emperor moved against Atredies they still don’t back Paul’s ascension and side with house Corrino 🤦🏼♂️ unless I’m missing something.
Everyone and their mother has seen this before me. Even some Indian villagers on their react channel have seen it. One more week though
“Paul that’s your grandfather”
Paul: I KNOW 😈
the change in paul is because he can clearly now see the future. he knows exactly what has to be done and he is doing it.
This was such an amazing reaction!! I love how focused you were cuz too many reactors either missed what was happening or basically talked out of their a$$. Well done!!
Every person needs a Stilgar in their life...
There is a law about the great houses Nuking one another. They can only damage infrastructure and not directly nuke one another. And Paul didn't want to damage the city. Those are the two main reasons they attacked the rocky cliff behind the city. So the debris would rain on the shields and deactivate them. Also the nukes in dune have no fallout left behind but their megatons are less predictable due the reacting used. So no fallout but the explosions size can greatly vary from 2 warheads of the same size. Just a little book Info in case you were wondering why no one was worried about nuclear fallout after the blast or why they didn't just nuke them directly.
Also in the book the explosion wasn't a nuke, it was them breaking the cardinal rule of shield technology; if you shoot a shield with lasers it'll cause an explosion you do _not_ want to be around.
Why they don't shoot each other all the time; only unique cases like this are such an explosion worth the risk.
30:45 me and my homie in the theater had the same reaction 😂😭
remember, lady Fenring still has Feyd's daughter growing inside her.
I saw this 3 times. The day before release and the day after on my birthday, then another time after. BEST movie in the 2020s
I’ve been waiting for u to drop I didn’t care what is was I just love watching your reactions while I’m having a tuff day
Bro, you don't want that water. Remember, if you survive, you'd be seeing some past and future stuff that would haunt you for the rest of your life. Even knowing enough to get rich might not shake the nightmares and daydreams.
"This is a tragedy, guys." Yes, it is. This isn't a happy story. Paul sees no other way but to become that which he swore to never become and he most use the Freman worse than the Harkonens did to accomplish the "one way" through...later called the Golden Path.
48:12 Prior to the start of Dune Part One, the Sardaukar were the most feared and respected military unit in the Imperium. They are death commandos loyal to the Emperor and his attack dogs. If a Great House gets too out of line, the Emperor will threaten them with a Sardaukar invasion.
Now here the have met their match, the Fremen are able to take them out with such ease that Paul just casually tells his guys to wack them.
I wish your editing had included some of Paul speeches after taking the water to completely show us not just you the change in him which was contained in his speeches in the room. I also think it’s interesting because most men reactors kind of ignore the harm down to Chani by Paul’s having to marry the emperor’s daughter and making that declaration public. Didn’t know if you remember the blue scarf that Chani had tied around her hair meant she was with someone in the Freeman culture. She had removed it from her hair and tied around her arm before the last battle. In case you didn’t know, there will be a third dune film called Messiah., DeneV made that announcement sometime after doing two opened. he couldn’t give us dates but he said there will be a third dune.
I hope Denis adapts the whole series because the books gets batshit insane😂
He said he’s gonna do messiah then call it a day, which I understand cuz you’re right it gets WILD
The sand walk actually is a move. Just watch the music video for Fatboy Slim’s Weapon of choice. Which actually stars Christopher Walkin 😊
"Walk without rhythm: it won't . attract . the worm!"
This reaction was spicy! LOL If you like Timothée Chalamet's performance in this, you might want to check out "The King" (2019), where he again plays a leadership role.
Thank you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
lol great reaction
He said "that's that worm pump". LOL
apparently thumper is too hard to remember even though they said it multiple times
Probably my favorite reaction to this movie.
The Baron couldn't even activate his shield in time without his gravity assist weightless s*** that he always use. His finger just twitched as he got stabbed in the throat. Couldn't even activate his personal shield without assistance.
Won’t be able to watch until the 21st when it’s on Max. I’ll come back to watch after I watch then.
Just as a sidenote: after taking the Water of Life, Paul is now clairvoyant and can see the future, ALL possible futures.
So when he says to Chani that he will love her forever, he's not promising her anything, he's stating an absolute fact.
"I'm going to the club and start hitting it." No truer words has been spoken. But this is a sequel to watch straight aaway, I've already seen it three times in the theaters so I can't blame you for wanting to watch more! Dune Part 3 is in the works, thankfully. Let's get it
Fun fact, the solar eclipse is the same one we had in real life. 😎
Harkonnens aren't fundamentally evils.
At this time period, they are of course ; but they're also an ancient and noble family related to the foundations of the Empire.
Stilgar is the best hype man.
