That particular scene in Flight enraged me - Dorn didn't know who Lokken was, and needed Sigusmund to vouch for him? Biatch DORN recommended Lokken personally to Horus to become one of the Mournival and talked to him personally in Horus Rising!! ARGH. Maybe it was too much to expect that the writers had read the previous books in the direct series, but man.
@thatotherguy8138 I'm confused. The original comment is about Garro meeting Dorn and getting punched, but you're talking about Lokken who was back on istvan murdering traitors with extreme prejudice. It's been a while since I listened to the book is there something where keeler and oliton and the old space marine whose name escapes me send a message from lokken or how does he play into this?
@@ragingmoderate6791 Yes. In that same scene, Garro mentions that he brought the Remembrancers to protect them because Lokken asked they be protected. (and Yacton Cruize(sp) did so) And Dorn - who had specifically helped choose Lokken in the first book, "Horus Rising", to join the Mournival - seemed to not know who Lokken was at all. In "Horus Rising" Dorn literally had a one-on-one chat with Lokken in the first book, where he told Lokken that he supported Lokken personally so Lokken could be a voice of reason that Dorn thought might be missing now that Sejanus was dead. So Dorn apparently not knowing who Lokken was in "Flight" was a massive "WTF?!?!??" moment for me.

Yeah bit of a shit take considering he had no reason to distrust Typhus. Even Typhus didnt realize he was being groomed by nurgle since birth. Typhus and Mortarion only rebelled against the lords of barbarus because of eachother.
That "Rylanor's Last Stand" song has been stuck in my head on repeat for days, and then you're wearing that shirt and it's like "Well, I guess I know what I'm listening to for the next hour."
One of my favourite Heresy arc characters, and you totally nailed why. That indominable spirit of his, shared with Keeler, in a way, just makes him compelling to read about. I admit to shedding a tear for Garro... In death, his duty was fulfilled.
Getting a video about how each of the pre heresy primarchs would have reacted to being in Guillimans situation as imperial regent and how each would run and react to the current imperium would be rlly interesting ngl
The absolute chaddest guy of them all. The bit of him thunderslapping the Lord of Flies on the surface of the fucking Moon will always be one of my favourites.
Garro is one of my favorite characters in 40k. Flight of the Eisenstein is one of my favorite books. While he does mostly keep things together and complete his mission to warn the loyalists about Horus there is a brief moment where he is overwhelmed by his situation. This, to me, makes his story and his character seem more realistic and relatable. After losing his leg, which by itself is a traumatic experience, he then is confronted with the horror of the virus bombing and forced to kill other legionaries which is something that up to that point was unthinkable for an Astartes. Then he has to come to terms with the fact that the some Primarchs including Mortarion have turned traitor. In a private moment he breaks down shouting that it's too much and calling for the Emperor to help him. This shows his resilience and his humanity, who wouldn't break down under those circumstances. Even Rogal Dorn shut himself away and destroyed his private quarters in rage when he was told about Horus' betrayal.
30k Astartes just seem more human and fallible in general. it feels like the wrong word but like their "innocence" of how they thought the galaxy worked was just destroyed by the heresy
Garo's will and dedication to Imperium was second to none. Together with Malcador's Knights Errant they fought and bled for Emperor and humanity. Many died or were lost to history, but if we are here writing up the obituary, we have to mention other Knights. Nethaniel Garro is definitely one of the best Space Marines to ever Space Marine, He's right there with Graviel Loken. I'll read anything with Garro in it.
All around great vid but I'd like to highlight one part. During the Saturnine Gambit, Garro ended up going against Falkus Kaibor(?) Garro actually got disarmed by the Sons of Horus Captain and his sword buried almost half the blade length deep in the concrete floor. Falckus went to pull the sword from the stone (another unsubtle easter egg from GW) and even with the strength boost of his Terminator armor the sword wouldn't budge an inch. Garro then manages to recover his sword and pulls it from the floor with literally no effort at all. Love that fight in the book in particular for that one fight scene.
If we are talking untouchable bad asses of the Heresy we should really get an Ollanius Pious video Assuming one is not planed after the final Horus Heresy book is out so we get his full story.
Was he not perma killed by Angron infront of a flag of the emperor? (a way to retcon the old lore about a sole guardsman called Ollanius standing between the emperor and one of his sons) I understand he's a perpetual but assumed a demon blade could perma kill (such as the big E's sword)
The fight scene between Garro's gentlemen and the Justaerin had me sitting forward while I read it. End and the Death Vol II is coming on the 7th boyos, we ready?
Happy you’re making the point about Excalibur. Garo was gifted a truly sacred sword from the deepest mythical legends of humankind. He is the first knight of the emperor, both in his genuine integrity, comfort with his own humanity, and enduring honor.
Fun fact, garro pulling himself down the shaft of Mortarions scyth is actually a reference to Mordred doing the same to Arthur. One a traitorous son using one last ounce of hatred to strike down is paragon father. The other a paragon son using one last ounce of loyalty driven strength to strike his traitorous father.

There have been a few moments throughout the several hundred Warhammer/40k books that I've read that have made me tear up. Garro's being the most recent. After reading about this guy since 2007, his finale hit me like a bus. Even though we all knew it was coming, it's still oddly hard reading about such a bad ass and beloved character dying, even heroically.
Interesting that you got Arthurian vibes. I picked up on a classic Greek influence. I was reminded of Homer's Odyssey by the way Garro fought in a huge war, then was lost at sea (the warp), and finally reached home only to find that a corruption had taken root that he was needed to fight. I love stories that follow this template. The hero finally gets home and he has to armor up one more time to save his home.

Just about finished "Flight of the Eisenstein" and yeah Garrow had some shit to go through. But it was funny when he straight up told Rogal Dorn he must be blind.

I love the moment we’re he is fighting a chaos terminator and in’s disarmed. Libertas gets impaled into a stone and the terminator thinking it would be hilarious to kill Garro with his own weapon tries and fails to remove it.
So bizarre you just uploaded this video as i just finish reading flight of the einstein
Great video! Just finished reading Genefather, I can't wait to see some discussion about the book and where it could send things.
Kind of a whatever topic but if you haven't made it, you could the major food/ source of nutrients of each faction. Loving the stuff you do man!
Nathaniel, Varren, Gaviel, Saul, hell, many more, are so damn cool
100% a top tier video of one of my absolute favorite characters in warhammer
And that's why Garro holds 4 of my top 5 Space marines spots.
Always to late to the merch drop, today I made it and happy I did, best looking set so far, finally managed to get one of your tops. Keep up the great work 👍
Freaking loved that! Would love to see one on lokken! He has got to be one of my all time fav characters
Bruh, Majorkill's hair keeps looking better. I know majorken is the meme, but he made the right choice on this one.
Good to see a video about Garro must admit read the last box about Garro twice hopping the ending was different from the last time I read the book.
Video idea niche 40k horror lore for spooky season something like top ten most horrific demons, hell or just any characters
I just finished Eisenstein the other day and i freaking love Garro.
strange how i just finished the book "Garro weapon of fate" yesterday and this appears!
Anyone else think it would be dope for Garro to return to the current setting as a living saint?
Dude is a FACECRUSHER. You planted some pretty sexy seeds about Garro in previous videos. Nice to see more lore fleshed out! Really dig my 500k drop singlet! Definitely going to check out the fresh merch
When you’re re-reading Eisenstein, and Majorkill drops this!
Cheers to Alex for the awsome artwork
Garro is tied for my top favorite boys. Garro, Loken, Tarvits, Rylenor. just the best most badass, coolest, toughest, most honorable dudes there ever where in the most insane IP ever.
I hope Living Saint Sigismund and Saint Garro becomes real in the future, these blokes deserve a round two against their biggest enemies.
Garros death was one that i didnt especially care for. Like i get that he had to fight morty eventually, and that could only end one way, but i wish we had got to see more of him being badass at the end of the Siege like how Lokken is running around killing daemons and shit.
This is EASILY my fave Marine hero in the Horus Heresy! 🫡 Flight of the Eisenstein was EPIC!! 🤘😎
Absolutely getting the loyalty is it’s own reward
Garro, Loken and Siggy, that is a team up that would make chaos crap it's undies
What a badass! Hope we will see him again kicking baddies with the Legion of the Damned.
Garro is a pure badass.
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS VIDEO FOR SO LONG!!!
Just about finished "Flight of the Eisenstein" and yeah Garrow had some shit to go through. But it was funny when he straight up told Rogal Dorn he must be blind.
Garro straight up calling out Dorn numerous times reminds of the scene in Saturnine where Sigismund attempts to fight Fulgrim and gets inevitably munted.
Dorn shows up and says: " Sigismund's courage often outstrips his abilities"
Lol
Idk why but when he said he went to hell and back in the name of duty sabatons to hell and back immediately popped into my head also could you imagine sabaton making songs about warhammer 40k fucking awesome idea
Will we be getting a video on Garviel Loken?
Damn he got the best death out of all, the emperor actually gave him a piece of heaven
I swear loyalist from traitor legions are just so cool
Superb video as always @majorkill.
Could you make a video dedicated to the Navigators, the major houses, their politics, relation to the overall Imperium and factions, etc?
Loken & Garro are my favorite 2 characters from 30K. I jumped around the books/audios for there stories first. 😂
Hmm, what about a video on the Ikaros protocol; it was the contingency where the Lion unshackles his Men of Iron.
Would love to see some White Scars/Jaghatai Khan merch come around. Would be fucking glorious
If Amazon ever gets to the point of showing a Mandalorian esque show about Space Marines they could definitely do a story about Nathaniel Garro and introduce the people to a bunch of different Loyalist Space Marines.
“THAT FUCKING FLY DEMON CAME BACK” in heavy Australian is music to my ears
Can u do a video on if a loyalist primarch turned traitor during the heresy how much of their legion would have stayed loyal to the emperor
Funny that Garro, even though he technically lost, managed to defy his father sucessfully and achieves peace by the Emperor.
Morty on the other hand failed defying his father, the necro daddy, because of the Emperor
Mee seeing the video after its been out for 2 weeks rip bathrobe but been binging a lot of majorkill this week
Sooo... Soul 'taken... Garro will be making a come-back soon as well!
