Here is the order of OVA's that is recommended! Just leaving it here in case you don't get spoiled while looking it up!
These two are the most crucial!
- After season 1: No Regrets part 1 & 2
- After season 1 or after episode 1 of season 2: Ilse's Notebook
If you're interested in knowing more, you also have these!
During their Training Cadet Years:
- The Sudden Visitor
- Distress
- After season 2: Lost Girls part 1 & 2
- After season 3: Lost Girls part 3
The questions will literally never end.
Also different sources have different spellings for names. Zachaly = Zachary, Mike = Miche, Erwin is usually pronounced Ervin, Hanji is sometimes spelled Hange. So there are multiple ways to pronounce/spell names - don’t worry too much about it.
I have watched this show fully through at least 5 times and still pick up new details I hadn’t noticed the first time, confusion is to be expected. The storytelling is actually insane and there are little clues hidden everywhere that you don’t even notice during the first watch.
I think another comment already suggested it but there is an OVA called No Regrets that dives into Levi and Erwin’s backstory that I feel is crucial to understanding their relationship. As far as I can recall there shouldn’t be any spoilers if you should choose to watch it sooner rather than later. But maybe trust the internet to tell you the best time to watch it.
Side note: I really appreciated your self-correction when you said “is she a yapper?” And then fixed it to “it just means she’s passionate” ❤ it’s the little things. Thank you.
(Also for your confusion on Hanji being called Sir, their gender is unconfirmed and “open to interpretation”. I think the closest word to describe that would probably be gender-fluid, like myself!)

Hange's my favorite character in the whole series! Her insatiable thirst for titan information is a thing of beauty, but the way she harnesses it as a driving force for humanity's advancement makes her a true hero.
Yeah, at this point i think you need a notebook 😅 For example, Hanji said that the Titans' body are light despite of their sizes. This fact will be very useful later. Most first timers forgot about this.
great video as aways! just a tip, in episodes like these its aways good to write down what you learn and write what you think about the info the episode just gave to you, there will be times in the future that when you are very confused you can just read what you writed and then out of nowhere you find some answers/theories that we would love to hear you say even if its wrong lol, keep the good work!👍
I feel like if he does this tho he should keep it light. I love how he doesn’t stop for anything he doesn’t understand as sometimes as the audience you should be, although after it would be good for after the episode to keep a bullet list or something of what you found most curious or important

In my personal opinion, I think OP and ED are best lived when they are watched with the mindset of that according season, so it gets more in your feels/hype. Not to mention sometimes you will have to watch since there will be no to be continued and a post credit scene. However since some are spoilery, I suggest you can watch them around the last episodes of its season, like that no spoiler will be done to you. There is one ED that is heavyyy spoiler seasons early, but we will let you know not to watch it. And a post credit scene that is just a preview of next season, so i think is best to avoid if you want to go in full blind.
We can always let you know these things in the comments if you want!
I also think watching them all together once you finish the show is also a way to look back at how the story evolved and it will certainly hit you in the feels too, so it's a good option if you prefer it

I was thinking about "kills" versus "assists." Not to take anything away from anyone who puts one of these monsters down, but to kill a Titan, you do it from where it can't see you and can't reach you. On the other hand, an "assist" means being fast enough, clever enough, and fearless enough to get a Titan's attention and not be devoured, stomped on, or swatted like a bug. Maybe you're even in there slashing its arms or legs or blinding it to slow it down enough for someone else to get the kill.
So, Petra's done that over 30 times and she looks like she's still a teenager. By way of comparison, Mikasa, by my count, got 7 to 10 kills in Trost and maybe a couple or three assists (shared with Armin) clearing Eren's path to seal the gate.
Have you seen how other soldiers fared against titans? Also they only have an expedition beyond the walls every few months and they all die after a few expeditions. That’s why the kill numbers are low.
Yeah that's fair, Mikasa just be setting the bar too high for me hahah
@@lachyywhite mikasa and Levi are just build different at this point. They’re far far far above the rest. Levi squad is still incredibly talented though. Most soldiers barely manage to kill one titan, and a few of them have more than 30. and they’re not dead yet! Yay!
I would say, i dont know when to suggest this OVA but if you are curious about Levi's past, you can react/watch AOT OVA: No Regret. It would be awesome to see you react to this!
Good point, I think starting now it's a good time to watch it and understand Levi's background, latest by end of season 1
We just make to need sure that he doesn't accidentally pick up some of the other, not yet suitable OVAs 😅

16:32. i mean, do you expect her to lie in a report? i feel like wanting a character to die for one annoying thing they did (apart from this scene) is odd. shes not friends with eren, she hasn't been with him for 14 episodes, shes not gonna lie in a report to help him. she doesnt even know how much eren can control and how valuable he'll turn out to be. even though at the start she didn't wanna risk helping him the battle of trost, in the end, she delivered one of the final blows to help him. sorry for my rant, i just feel strongly when it comes to others hating characters for reasons like this
Personally for me, don't watch the intro. There are certain things that might spoil you. Another option I can recommend is you can react to all AOT OP songs after you've finished watching this spectacular show!!
You've met the goat of all, Commander Erwin and one of my fav Hanji!!! And another FUN FACT: Sawney and Bean is a real name and person (Sawney Bean). He and his tribe cannibalized people as far as I remember.
You'll get a lot more questions as you go deeper into the story. It's really fun watching shows that make you think and you can also think of your own theories and you can only confirm it by watching it more. And we're here with you throughout the journey!!!! 🎉

dw about the confusion with eren and mikasa's backstory!! you're more perceptive than most people making reactions and remember lots of things as it is, nothing wrong with occasionally mixing stuff up at the first watch especially when there's so much to keep in mind

I'd skip this new intro personally, as its one of the few in the show that has some spoilers in it.
Hanji is such a fun character. She's radically different from everyone else we've seen in this universe to this point. Very much feels like a mad genius, but one with a sensitive side.
The next episode onwards will be mind blown especially *cough * episode 17 *cough * The title of ep 17 is a spoiler itself. It's hard to not get spoil because you watch yourself, not with someone irl who already watch AOT to close your eyes from reading the title 😂.
Maybe you can try close your eyes when you press "skip intro" since the title will come up after that 🤔
i dont think the intro is that spoilery. there's a bit at the end that'll make you think "hmm, what was that?" but its not really a spoiler, just a teaser to whats about to come next. but overall its up to you
i skip the intros as well no prob big bro. i do suggest taking notes though, or you could rewatch it later on bcs believe me you would want to rewatch the moments in previous episodes when they answer the questions later on.

For every new opening/ending song, I would suggest you just listen to the songs without looking at the screen then you can skip in the next ep.
Then, after you finish all seasons you can react to all openings/endings. I would love to know how you rate them according to your liking because AOT has very good opening/endings.

why are you so bothered if people want to see Hange as a non binary person, or genderfluid?
Though it's true that the anime made Hange present as a woman (voice/body), the manga makes them clearly gender ambiguos on purpose. And that is the original source 🤷♀
In any case there they called Hange ''分隊長'', which is a neutral term for squad leader.
