The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 review is here, putting the Note 8's more RAM, dual cameras and S Pen to the test. But is it worth the hefty price tag?
Join Lanh as he journeys through Berlin for the Galaxy Note 8 reeview, looking at how well Samsung bounced back in its follow up to the ill-fated Galaxy Note 7.
The Galaxy Note 8 is Samsung's first dual-camera flagship phone and the beautiful Infinity Display now has even more useful edge-screen features.
The mighty S Pen makes a comeback with new features like Live Message and even more Screen Off Memo options. For better or worse, Samsung Bixby is also on board complete with its own dedicated button.
Unfortunately for many, Samsung decided to keep a smaller battery in the Note 8, despite its 6.3-inch Super AMOLED QHD+ display.
With serious competition from the likes of the more affordable LG V30, Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL and with the iPhone X tempting a lot of smartphone buyers, does the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 have what it takes to justify its $930 price tag?

Max Lee GH5 of course! Sigma 18-35 and 42.5 mm f/1.7 Panasonic lens for most of the b roll. 12-35 for on camera stuff cause sigma too heavy for the gimbal

I like the way you guys filmed this review! you were out in the world and incorporated your environment into aspects of the review and mixed that in with some nice b-roll, for example when you used the rain to talk about its water resistance. I hope to see more like this!

Is a very beautiful review! A lot of different locations look very nice and also are pleasant for watching!
I don't get why reviewers got all shitty about the placement of the finger print sensor on the S8,S8+ and NOTE 8..... once you've used it once or twice it becomes second nature and it's not that much of an issue... get over it!
I personally don't mind the placement as my index finger is always near the sensor anyway

Is it only me that it feels 95% like the S8+? It seems the upgrades are minimal for the high price when comparing both phones.
The only thing that keeps me from buying Samsung phones is the performance over time, some videos on youtube are showing noticeable lag in the galaxy s8 which is only a few months old, makes me think twice about buying a 900 dollar phone that might do the same.( that's also why i didn't buy the s7 edge last year)

For me, a diehard Samsung fan (even after the Note 7 debacle) I'm torn between the Note and the V30. However when I look at them seriously I think the Note has a better set of features overall than the V30. S-Pen, OIS on both lenses, Bokeh, 2x optical zoom, dual pixel sensor, larger screen, more RAM, historically better build quality (outside of the battery issue last year!). The V30 really only has two compelling features outside of what the Note offers... better Analog audio (DAC not necessarily amp also) and larger apertures on the camera lenses. Since when it comes to using headphones I use noise cancelling (since I only use the phone's audio when I travel OR I use Bluetooth in the car) the V30's audio section does nothing for me. Camera wise I think that long term the dual OIS sensors with 2x telephoto will likely prove more compelling than the larger aperture on the V30 but we'll need to wait for real comparisons to know. So in my final analysis the Note is a better phone for me... but it's a much tougher decision this time around than it was last year.

No one try to understand way the fingerprint placement by Samsung is the only right thing to do with bigger phones how many tims we drops our phones by not gripping it enough in to our Palm's of the hand in hurrines.with this precise fingerprint placement we will only be able to holds our phone safely enough in to our Palm's.wich will reduce dropping chances signaficantly. We do not even understand the smartness of Samsung ?

Why are current tech reviewers so lazy with these reviews? Regurgitating specs and a few new features is as good as watching the Samsung keynote - it doesn't tell us anything different.
Why not talk about what this phone can actually do that sets it a part from the competition? It has a heart rate sensor built-in - talk about that! It has features like smart stay - talk about that! What about the brightness of the screen outdoors? It's the best in any phone - talk about that! It has 6gb of RAM - a first for a Samsung flagship sold globally - this is significant yet it's not mentioned.
People come to a review because they want to know more than what the specs say. This was really disappointing and the focus seems to be more on production value and not the quality of the content.

Why would you mention the heart rate sensor? Literally no one uses it. 6 GB of ram? Why would you need that much on a Smartphone smh also, the quality of this Smartphone was presentated very well.

I don't understand why reviewers mention finger print issues with glass front and back. Most phone manufactures are going this route and who the hell doesn't put a case of some sort on a mobile device of this caliber??
JPx MODz I never put on case on my phones, and until now all of my phones are flagships. I don't like the feel of phone case. When I buy a phone, the design is one of the reasons why I bought it. Because of that, I don't want to cover its design by putting a case on it.

Wow, your review style is different, from cinematic perspective I really like it, it is an amazing work for you and the people behind the scene, I'm sure it is an extra work compared to your usual, nothing wrong with trying something new
But personally I feel some disadvantages and something missing here :
- Just a lil bit out of focus, I'm not hearing to your voice because I'm more interested in the video quality
- The sound become distorted by other sound when you do it outdoors especially in a crowded place
- Where are the Photos & Video samples? I think it is good to explain in so much detail from the Camera Aspects
This is just my personal opinion, but I want to know, about these information :
- 60fps video capability & sample , is it also stabilized? I want to see the result
- Slow Motion capability & sample, still 240fps at 720p? How good is it? Because this kind of features are only available on very high end phone like S8 & IPhone 6 and up, Pixel? Meh, I've seen the sample and it sucks, it is forced to 1/8 slower in 120fps, not as smooth as Samsung or Apple, this is an underated feature that the other company don't care about
- Other extra camera feature and sample one by one?

People really put too much stock in battery in a world of technology where things keep getting more efficient. My Xperia Z3v heats up like crazy and I am hampered by summer heat to the point where it overheats and I can't take pictures. What I'm trying to say is SD835 is a lot more efficient than my SD801 and it does show.
Likewise I think Sony is perfectly fine throwing a 2700 in their XZ1. Though personally for several reasons I wouldn't mind it being thicker.
Does Samsung own Android Authority? Cause all I heard was this App, that App, this software, and camera at night. I mean are you reviewing a phone or its software? How can a 2K phone with a small mono speaker be ok in 2017? And I am asking that as a previous Note 7 owner. Note 7 was great for 2016. But now it's 4K Dual speakers Era. And TH-camrs keep reviewing the same shty way over and over.

I wish people would hop off of this "is it worth it" crap. The answer is yes. For most of us who had note 7 we've been waiting a year for our new phone, it seems kinda silly to back peddle to a subpar phone for 150 dollar difference. most of you you will buy it through a carrier and upgrade when the next iteration comes out anyway, and last time i checked 850 rounds up to 1000 not 500. Samsung gave you what you asked for, and now we wanna flake on for a couple of dollars. IPhone people have no room to talk, apple products have always been "expensive" or at least More than comparable products, and no one mumbles a word. Dont settle for bandwagon mentality, buy what makes you happy and dont feel guilty about your purchase, you like what you like. And please for the love of God, please ditch the exploding battery jokes, and fingerprint scanner complaining. Alot of you use pins and patterns anyway.
PS my Note 3 can "app pair", it's not a new feature, the Note phones have been able to do it for a while :D I guess people just never used it or Samsung forgot it was there? Idk. And the battery lasted longer than the S8 Plus on Mrwhosetheboss' battery test oddly enough. So I agree ; it's a non issue. Great review - optimistic and as objective as possible - acknowledging the bad without bashing it and praising without gushing.
I just picked this phone on eBay for $217. Of course the phone is a refurb. And the screen is perfect. No shadow. Everything about the phone works perfectly. It's still a great deal in 2019.
I only wish the CEO of apple Inc was at the Samsung keynote, this phone has a stylus that creates a huge hole in the phones body but has still managed to get IP 68 certified I'm not gonna talk about my precious headphone jack tho. Apple took it away and only got ip 67 like WTF?????
How was this submitted submitted today Sept. 5th and you didn't go over anything that we already didn't know like Bluetooth 5.0 and what that allows or that fact that you can charge your phone quick charging while using wireless this time and also that you can download faster using your data and Wi-Fi combined at the sane time??? Or the fact that with Bixby you can pretty much navigate throughout your entire phone with just your voice?

Great review. I'm an owner of a S8+ coming from an iPhone 7, and I don't see the necessity of upgrading. This phone has been awesome.

For music lover dun buy note fe... the sound quality sucks... non clarity sound output via aux and Bluetooth... note 5 has better sound quality... i had compare with Spotify with same song... regrating bought this phone... even J7 pro has good quality sound... Fan edition no no its fucked edition by Samsung
Android authority and many others getting paid for better review of sumsang phones. Camera in note 8 no diff from s7 edge w.r.t purple color in yellow lights smoothens skin tone which is very bad..saw my fnds pixel 1 it beats any samsung phone. I am using both s7 n note 8. have no choice in gulf pixel too costly so settled for note 8

Battery life is still not enough. "5 hours screen life" is always optimistic. Start using camera/navigation often and watch the battery die.
And battery life will rapidly degrade < 2 years heavy use.
All the specs in the world don't matter if the battery is dead.
I think you've fudged on the battery-life problem. Serious users know they're going to get only half a day out of this phone and will have to get a bulky battery case in order to go truly mobile. For me that's more than a deal breaker at $960.
Best phone to buy at a price..but still 850 to 900$ are the main price ranges for every flagship..50$ more is not that much of a difficult choice.lets wait for the iPhone now.

Some people think that the higher the price the better it is. That's why it so expensive. But they add more things unlike apple who take things away and add woeful things in place. S9 vs iPhone 8 will be the REAL battle

LG v30, note 8, and S8(+) all have great specs and designs. the only thing I see that would influence ones decision is the software and price.
I love my Note 8. No apple round here, as a matter of fact, the "fruit" is a big problem from day one hence the women love their iPhones. 😂😂😂😂😂
It's so worth it if you're getting 2 for the price of one with some carriers and extra 128 gb memory card and wireless charger from Samsung 😉 you can't get a deal like that with iphones.
Great video . Love the new camera work . The price should be a non factor since 80% of most finance there flagships. The note has never been cheap my note 4 edge was the same price plus there's plenty of discount to be had do your homework
