i agree with you that the Jarco breakup just for a cape was a shitty writing guion, but it wasn't Daron fault, she wanted to continuous with the Jarco, but some reason she lost some control in 3 season a the directors with another writer just made shit in the serie, like break up the Jarco, and replace it by the toxic Statom and change many personalities in the characters.
Im actually Mad, i think if Startom were not finish together , was a totally waste of time spent so long in that relationship. And if Starco Is finally Happen there is too short time to enjoy that relationship.

I blame the show's downfall on three things: Racism, Cape and Moon. tl;dr at the bottom (sorry for the length) The Racism arc was stupid in general. The Racism arc added a lot of unnecessary episodes which added up to taking up most of season 3 and a quarter of season 4. I think that Eclipsa should have had her trial and then when the MHC was exposed, that could have been the big turning point where everyone realizes that Eclipsa is just a normal woman and she's ok after all. This leaves more time to develop other ideas that will actually matter in the grand scheme of things. Next, the Cape. Marco and Jackie should have stayed together for at least half a season. Then when they break up because (as Jackie perfectly said) they "just weren't the best match" Marco could be breakup buddies with Kelly until the end of Season 3. This would cut out a lot of the bad writing: Jarco's breakup and whatever Kellco was. It would also make Star and Marco's reunion sweeter and make them realize their feelings for each other. Finally, the Moon. Not much to say. The Blood Moon was stupid and was only there in the first place to add some shock value in the mid-season finale. It made Starco seem even more forced as well. Just take out all the Blood Moon stuff and the problem is fixed. This is how I would write the show after Season 2. Battle For Mewni happens. Marco goes to Earth. Star starts dating Tom and Marco continues his relationship with Jackie. During the first half of the season Star deals with Eclipsa and the trial happens at the mid-season finale. While this is going on Marco and Jackie start realizing that they aren't the perfect fit for one another and they end their relationship when Jackie is headed for France and they realize that they don't love each other in the mid-season finale. The second half of Season 3 is kind of packed. Star and Moon are trying to figure out what to do with Eclipsa who is trying to find a way to free Globgor (but that part is only hinted at). Meanwhile Marco meets Kelly again and they become breakup buddies. Meteora is following Marco and Kelly around because she hates Marco. Near the end of the season, Kelly and Marco go to St. Olga's for some reason (doesn't matter let's say that Ponyhead invited them to hang out) and Meteora finds some evidence of her lineage and she goes to the Monster Temple and she finds out everything. Marco and Kelly rush to tell Star and Moon about Meteora and they all unite for the season finale episodes: Divide and Conquer. I would make two changes to the Season Finale. First, Moon is put in a coma instead of in the Magic Dimension because the whole "let's find Moon" subplot was annoying and only put Star in a position to be queen. Second, Globgor is freed (but introduced earlier in a flashback episode or going in his mind) so he could be included in the end of Meteora's arc as well as having more time for character development. One last thing to mention is that Tom and Star are shown to be close during this season so it has an impact when they break up later. Season 4 is hard to write as of now, since it's not finished. I can say for sure is that Kelly and Marco will break up. I think it would be best if Marco breaks up with Kelly because she has a certain lifestyle (adventuring around different dimensions) and Marco just wants to stay on Mewni to help his friends because he wasn't able to support them during the past season and they just dealt a pretty major threat. Star and Marco start displaying clear signs that they like each other but they don't act upon it because 1) Star is dating Tom and 2) Star is oblivious to Marco's feelings and she wants to move on from someone who doesn't like her back. Star and Tom stay together during the first half but break up before or at the mid-season finale because Star is starting to neglect Tom. Tom would break up with Star because he realizes that he's being used as a coping mechanism and not as a boyfriend. They would stay friends because they still like each other (as friends) and Tom learned to accept this reality over the last half a season. The second half of the season would have Starco become canon and have them grow as a couple. If you want you could add some JanTom but it's not necessary. They should still have at least one episode where they stay on Earth and meet their old friends. I would talk about the plot but we don't know how Mina will be resolved or if Toffee will show up. As much as I talked about shipping plot would be the main focus of the show, I didn't talk much about plot because Eclipsa's arc was fairly well-handled and I don't see many problems with Mina. I only really got rid of some plot. When Season 4 is finished I will have a proper end in mind, maybe add some stuff like Seth from the book. tl;dr: Racism, Jarco break up and the Blood Moon Curse ruined the show. A teenager thinks he can write the show better than professional writers.

Let this be a warning to all cartoon writers. Production time is important. Planning is important. Take your time double checking your themes and planning out your storyline. Doesn't matter how cool the lore, characters, or settings are if your story is messy. If the story is messy, it just doesn't work.
Yeah, counting just the lore and the background lampshaded in the book of spells, all of that is pretty cool. But what is actually exploited in the show is, like, 1% of what could be. And what actually is there, is pretty messy.

And it makes sense. - Jackie and Marco break up because of Marco's feelings for Star. - At the beginning of last summer Star leaves after confessing she has a crush on Marco. - Marco follows her to Mewni and decides to go and live there for a while. - Marco and Star both return at the beginning of the next summer. About NINE MONTHS LATER. - All of their friends see Marco and Star with a baby. It's a reasonable assumption. Yeah, they're 15, almost 16, but teen pregnancy is surprisingly common in the US.

I think the transition to earth with star just ditching Tom was pretty stupid.... but I gotta admit, I think every episode after that (including the ones that came out today) have been pretty solid. Going back to earth was refreshing, and every episode so far has felt like something straight outta season one and two. Good on them for picking the show back up. If only they had written the transition to earth better so that star didn’t just ditch Tom for no reason. But after that one mistake, it definitely got better in my opinion. I’ll acknowledge that, since we’ve been dumping on the writers on some bad decisions they’ve been making recently, and I hope this streak of better episodes since doop-doop continues

Doop-Doop is literally the broom version of Spinel. Except they treat the abandonment like a *joke* in Star vs. whereas in Steven Universe, it was a *tragedy.*
I LOVE Toffee, but I personally think it's WAY too late for them to introduce him again at this point. If they are planning to bring him back, they should've done so earlier in the season.

Alright, now that I'm done with the video, time for my thoughts on the Starco/shipping in general situation...is what I would say if there weren't further developments on it in recent episodes which I won't talk about as to not spoil it for anyone watching along with the reactions. If there aren't any major developments by the time the reactions get caught up to the episodes I'm talking about, then I'll say my thoughts on the reaction for that episode. All I'll say is that, no matter what, I plan continue with the show until the end and judge it after everything is all put together, that is hoping everything IS well put together. I genuinely feel like something must have happened between Battle For Mewni and the rest of season 3 on the development side. It's just gone downhill. I've pretty much not cared at all about Eclipsa or her husband. Meteora was sorta cool but it wasn't paced very well (like the last two seasons have been.) Rip Toffee man. One of the greatest cartoon villains and they just straight up ruined him.
I stopped watching the series before both the 3rd and 4th season came out. Somehow, I knew ONE of those two would be horrible, and that I should just not waste my time on it. Turns out I was correct. I should trust my guts way more often.
Man I agree with this statement so hard. It's so true. I can't even enjoy Star and Marco being together when they had to drag us through the blood of all other characters to get to it. I've always enjoyed Star and Marco as friends only, maybe thought they were cute until the show actually started to try and force them to get together; now it feels like I'm slugging through the last few episodes to get to the ending 💀

Hey I understand completely how you feel with giving up on the writing and faith in the show. Honestly, I have and at this point I’m just enjoying the rest of the episodes the best I can, and thinking of seasons 1&2 as speedster from the rest of the show, just to make myself feel better. Also, despite your frustration you are still hilarious! So keep it up man!!! Also, I would like to recommend two shows that won’t disappoint: For emotional value watch Anne With An E And for insane plot twists watch The Good Place

Super obvious, but IMO, not really bad, cause we’ve Star’s perspective how in Season 3 moving back to Mewni, and vowing to be a better princess affected her. Plus, being offhandedly rejected by Marco made matters worse emotionally. And then Tom came into the picture, giving Star the companionship she lacked at the time. And in turn, Star quickly jumped back into a relationship with Tom again.

Let's look at these episodes from a broader viewpoint. Ever since the Mewni setting-shift, people have admitted that they wanted Earth back because of the simple charm. Having a few Earth episodes right before the finale (that shouldn't be the end to the whole series) is a great move for what the fans wanted. *THE FACT IT BROKE UP TOMSTAR? GARBAGE.* WHY DIDN'T TOM JUST GO TO EARTH *WITH STAR???* I'll admit, the conflict of Star not wanting to leave because she doesn't know what's next to do in life is a great point with the story. She isn't a princess, and now she has no nemesis to fight against. But considering she ends up back at Earth, bringing Tom along would've been something for the next few episodes; I'll discuss in a reply. We know that this is ending with Starco, at this point the only thing to stop it is kill off either one, *which won't happen.* If Raptor God Man came back and possessed Marco in a world where Tomstar still existed, then heck yeah heroic sacrifice and/or Star killing her best friend while maybe admitting some feelings for him that Tom doesn't hear. *If only we had more time to end this show*
Alright, time to discuss a perfect world hypothetical. Tomstar survived the episode and made it to Earth together. Tom asks that since there's nowhere new to go, what places are important to Star? They head to Earth and make Marco their Tour Guide/Third Wheel. -(Also Diaz residence is free place to stay)- Star adds her tower back and Tom gets one on the opposite side of the house. Then the next episodes continue with Star/Marco showing Tom the beauties of Earth while everyone else reacts to Tomstar and jokes about Starco. Beach Day happens the the "Starco Photo" just happened to not have Tom in the background for some reason. Blah blah blah until we reach the finale. Things happen, tragedies occur and at the last second Tom makes the final sacrifice, *and finally does something important,* to have the others defeat Mina. And as he's dying he says something like "I only die happy knowing there are plenty of people to take care of Star for me... [looks at Marco]." *Bam series finale over Toffee didn't return perfect world scenario is neither good or ends with tomstar.*
this is exactly why i gave up watching this show. i saw this coming ever since the jarco break up and i'm not happy with it in the slightest. it's so undeveloped at this point that i just watch the episodes the first time through you videos because some stuff is cut out and it's way less painful to deal with.
While they kept it vague, it's *_pretty obvious_* they are gonna break up regardless. The writers don't even try to hide the fact they want a Starco endgame.

I don't want to attack you with two comments, but I do want to express the fact that the show really has changed. *breathes in before reading this essay of a comment* Now, I started watching SVTFOE last year, so around when Season 3 was airing. I got sucked into the show really quickly, adoring not only the hilarious writing but the concept of the show in general. Though as of lately, I find myself clinging onto the older seasons, still taking in the new ones, but just not moving on from what the show was before. Do I not like the newer seasons? Definitely not. Though the show doesn't have the same feeling as it used to, it's still entertaining to watch. For me, at least. I'm not entirely happy with where the show is going, but I'm glad that I've gone on the rollercoaster of mixed emotions. I can't say that I wish that the show continued going in the direction it's chosen, but I can say that I've really enjoy where it's brought me. I've discovered so many amazing people and art, and overall inspiration, simply because I've watched SVTFOE. I feel like sometimes the show isn't just the show, it's the people that really make it amazing. Thank you for making your reactions. So this is my thoughts on this show so far. I do agree with how bad this show has gotten but I do believe some stuff was going to go down that road anyways no matter how much you change the writing. That was definitely not Star's and Tom's break up but it was definitely their *break* as Star is lost in the sea of bullsh*t that has been happening to her, her family, and her friends. I do believe she needed to think for a while as she was busy for a whole 3rd season and 3/4 of this one. She had to deal with stopping racism, stopping Meteroa from destroying everything, and keep everything together with Eclipsa. And I do believe what's happening between Star and Tom is a little bit messed up but I think that was the end goal that the earlier writers initially planned but given what we see now, it's sort of like they are trying to rush through it instead of giving it some time. I really felt they needed to flesh out their relationships as I also believe the break up between Marco and Jackie was really rushed but I did understand the initial intention. Just the way they executed it was bad but I think it was also a way for the audience to get the idea between Marco's and Star's relationship as they felt like they needed to be together without initially thinking about it (This may have been because of the curse but as we've seen in "The curse of the Blood Moon" maybe not). They lost a lot of traction within the initial cut of the show but literally the show changes within a season as it starts out as a "reset" type show where it feels like it's like SpongeBob with no real story but then it gets to Raptor God Man (Toffee) and everything changes. I don't believe he's coming back but I also don't believe that Mina will be the final endgame but something even greater than her.

I think the transition to earth with star just ditching Tom was pretty stupid.... but I gotta admit, I think every episode after that (including the ones that came out today) have been pretty solid. Going back to earth was refreshing, and every episode so far has felt like something straight outta season one and two. Good on them for picking the show back up. If only they had written the transition to earth better so that star didn’t just ditch Tom for no reason. But after that one mistake, it definitely got better in my opinion. I’ll acknowledge that, since we’ve been dumping on the writers on some bad decisions they’ve been making recently, and I hope this streak of better episodes since doop-doop continues

As much as I hate how the constant insults thrown towards this season make me feel depressed, they are still true. Kind of wish they weren't the focus of everyone's attention since there are still a lot of good things left in Star as well... but that would be basically rewarding the mistakes and laziness of the writers. Can't have that, we need to hold Cartoons to higher standards, even the ones we do, or did, love.

Alright, now that I'm done with the video, time for my thoughts on the Starco/shipping in general situation...is what I would say if there weren't further developments on it in recent episodes which I won't talk about as to not spoil it for anyone watching along with the reactions. If there aren't any major developments by the time the reactions get caught up to the episodes I'm talking about, then I'll say my thoughts on the reaction for that episode. All I'll say is that, no matter what, I plan continue with the show until the end and judge it after everything is all put together, that is hoping everything IS well put together. I genuinely feel like something must have happened between Battle For Mewni and the rest of season 3 on the development side. It's just gone downhill. I've pretty much not cared at all about Eclipsa or her husband. Meteora was sorta cool but it wasn't paced very well (like the last two seasons have been.) Rip Toffee man. One of the greatest cartoon villains and they just straight up ruined him.
I stopped watching the series before both the 3rd and 4th season came out.
Somehow, I knew ONE of those two would be horrible, and that I should just not waste my time on it.
Turns out I was correct.
I should trust my guts way more often.

Man I agree with this statement so hard. It's so true. I can't even enjoy Star and Marco being together when they had to drag us through the blood of all other characters to get to it. I've always enjoyed Star and Marco as friends only, maybe thought they were cute until the show actually started to try and force them to get together; now it feels like I'm slugging through the last few episodes to get to the ending 💀

Hey I understand completely how you feel with giving up on the writing and faith in the show. Honestly, I have and at this point I’m just enjoying the rest of the episodes the best I can, and thinking of seasons 1&2 as speedster from the rest of the show, just to make myself feel better. Also, despite your frustration you are still hilarious! So keep it up man!!! Also, I would like to recommend two shows that won’t disappoint:

Super obvious, but IMO, not really bad, cause we’ve Star’s perspective how in Season 3 moving back to Mewni, and vowing to be a better princess affected her. Plus, being offhandedly rejected by Marco made matters worse emotionally. And then Tom came into the picture, giving Star the companionship she lacked at the time. And in turn, Star quickly jumped back into a relationship with Tom again.

Let's look at these episodes from a broader viewpoint.
Ever since the Mewni setting-shift, people have admitted that they wanted Earth back because of the simple charm. Having a few Earth episodes right before the finale (that shouldn't be the end to the whole series) is a great move for what the fans wanted.
*THE FACT IT BROKE UP TOMSTAR? GARBAGE.*
WHY DIDN'T TOM JUST GO TO EARTH *WITH STAR???* I'll admit, the conflict of Star not wanting to leave because she doesn't know what's next to do in life is a great point with the story. She isn't a princess, and now she has no nemesis to fight against. But considering she ends up back at Earth, bringing Tom along would've been something for the next few episodes; I'll discuss in a reply.
We know that this is ending with Starco, at this point the only thing to stop it is kill off either one, *which won't happen.* If Raptor God Man came back and possessed Marco in a world where Tomstar still existed, then heck yeah heroic sacrifice and/or Star killing her best friend while maybe admitting some feelings for him that Tom doesn't hear.

Alright, time to discuss a perfect world hypothetical.
Tomstar survived the episode and made it to Earth together. Tom asks that since there's nowhere new to go, what places are important to Star? They head to Earth and make Marco their Tour Guide/Third Wheel. -(Also Diaz residence is free place to stay)- Star adds her tower back and Tom gets one on the opposite side of the house. Then the next episodes continue with Star/Marco showing Tom the beauties of Earth while everyone else reacts to Tomstar and jokes about Starco. Beach Day happens the the "Starco Photo" just happened to not have Tom in the background for some reason. Blah blah blah until we reach the finale. Things happen, tragedies occur and at the last second Tom makes the final sacrifice, *and finally does something important,* to have the others defeat Mina. And as he's dying he says something like "I only die happy knowing there are plenty of people to take care of Star for me... [looks at Marco]."
*Bam series finale over Toffee didn't return perfect world scenario is neither good or ends with tomstar.*
this is exactly why i gave up watching this show. i saw this coming ever since the jarco break up and i'm not happy with it in the slightest. it's so undeveloped at this point that i just watch the episodes the first time through you videos because some stuff is cut out and it's way less painful to deal with.

Now, I started watching SVTFOE last year, so around when Season 3 was airing. I got sucked into the show really quickly, adoring not only the hilarious writing but the concept of the show in general. Though as of lately, I find myself clinging onto the older seasons, still taking in the new ones, but just not moving on from what the show was before. Do I not like the newer seasons? Definitely not. Though the show doesn't have the same feeling as it used to, it's still entertaining to watch. For me, at least. I'm not entirely happy with where the show is going, but I'm glad that I've gone on the rollercoaster of mixed emotions. I can't say that I wish that the show continued going in the direction it's chosen, but I can say that I've really enjoy where it's brought me. I've discovered so many amazing people and art, and overall inspiration, simply because I've watched SVTFOE. I feel like sometimes the show isn't just the show, it's the people that really make it amazing.
Thank you for making your reactions. Even if they remind me of the utter death that SVTFOE is heading towards, they still manage to make me eager to see each new episode so that I can further understand your videos. ...That's not weird, right? So this is my thoughts on this show so far. I do agree with how bad this show has gotten but I do believe some stuff was going to go down that road anyways no matter how much you change the writing. That was definitely not Star's and Tom's break up but it was definitely their *break* as Star is lost in the sea of bullsh*t that has been happening to her, her family, and her friends. I do believe she needed to think for a while as she was busy for a whole 3rd season and 3/4 of this one. She had to deal with stopping racism, stopping Meteroa from destroying everything, and keep everything together with Eclipsa. And I do believe what's happening between Star and Tom is a little bit messed up but I think that was the end goal that the earlier writers initially planned but given what we see now, it's sort of like they are trying to rush through it instead of giving it some time. I really felt they needed to flesh out their relationships as I also believe the break up between Marco and Jackie was really rushed but I did understand the initial intention. Just the way they executed it was bad but I think it was also a way for the audience to get the idea between Marco's and Star's relationship as they felt like they needed to be together without initially thinking about it (This may have been because of the curse but as we've seen in "The curse of the Blood Moon" maybe not). They lost a lot of traction within the initial cut of the show but literally the show changes within a season as it starts out as a "reset" type show where it feels like it's like SpongeBob with no real story but then it gets to Raptor God Man (Toffee) and everything changes. I don't believe he's coming back but I also don't believe that Mina will be the final endgame but something even greater than her.
the show was great when it first started. I don't understand why they would make the final season so boring.
