    Hope you enjoy watching them as much as we enjoying putting them together.

    That was really beautiful. A canoe is so quite that you can get so close to nature, like the mother moose and her young. Thanks for sharing.

    Wow; this vid is gorgeous! The moose and her baby were so majestic...and Maddy didn't bark! My guy would have gone ballistic, lol.
    I love when the river is so calm it looks like a mirror; beautiful.

    I liked your video a lot. It's amazing what you can do when you push yourself. This past summer my son and I hiked Killarney Provincial Park's 78km La Cloche Silhouette trail in three days. Why three days? It was all the time my son could give me for the hike. Anyway, our hike pushed me to my limits but was fantastic to do.

    Very cool Moose encounter. When you talked about coming around a corner did you say there was a grizzly or could be one? I really am enjoying your trip .

    Just a technical question @4:18 is that a yellow PFD on the top of your pack? i know the water is very shallow where the canoe is, safe and successful solo travel is the summation of GOOD HABITS. Maddy has her PFD on! Good dog.

    @camper905 Ha, good catch. That would be too long of a day with the editing.

    I hate portaging. This is the only part that I dislike canoeing. The pack seems to weight an extra pound every 100m.

    @camper905 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @kycanoecamper to me it looks like he is using the "official" algonquin park canoe map that you can get from the park permit offices. Another great Algonquin Map is the one by Jeffrey McMurtrie. Just google "free algonquin Map".

    Hey wait.. I'm confused... at 12:27 you say you have the tent up, but then at 13:27 you say you are going to put the tent up?? Too long a day or error in editing?

  • @equallywrong

    usually when someone says "such and such has the runs!" that phrase means such and such has to shit. Not the literal interpretation that they are actually running. just for future clarity. lol.

    Do you have to camp in approved sites only?

    • @adreabrooks11
      @adreabrooks11 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Technically, it's only permissible to camp at the specific sites on the map (they're marked with bright orange signs to make them easy to spot), and campers are strongly encouraged to make all effort to do so. There are several reasons for this, including fire control, animal protection (avoiding nesting sites, spawning beds and so on) and others. However, there is sometimes no choice. For example, if one gets windbound, night falls on a lake with no sites, etc. In these cases, one is expected to make as little impact on the area as possible - i.e. no fire, try not to move around and trample the vegetation and so on; simply pitch as modest a shelter as possible and pass on ASAP.

    Do you bring a gun when you go on trips like that for bears and other things

    • @MaddyTheGoose
      @MaddyTheGoose  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, I don't bring any kind of firearm. I'll generally have bear bangers (kind of like flares but make a huge bang) or an air horn but I've never had to use either. Black bears around where I go scare quite easily.
