This helped so much, very direct and to the point.
Had my console since day one and its been thru 4 moves, multiple rooms in each home, even a road trip cross country. i had matts of dust on the bottom vents, and i keep my console clean lol.

Soooo.....I opened up my series x for the first time today, and I had no where NEAR the amount of dust this cat is removing from his. I think placement of your system and airflow is key to keeping dust out of your gaming system. Also a clean home, not saying his home is dirty but we make it a point to dust at least 2 to three times a week due to having two cats and two German Sheppards. Excellent video though, very thorough and well made.

For $9 on Amazon I got a dust cover that is water proof and an anti humidity protective shell. Every time I turn off the Xbox I wait 10 minutes and then check to make sure the fan is no longer running. Obviously you want your box set to turn completely off in power settings. After 2 years the console looks brand new inside and runs great. Nearly no dust at all. Highly recommend this. Just make sure that you have the Xbox set to completely shut down when you power off. Then allow it to cool for 10-15 minutes, so it's cool to the touch and make sure the fan is off. And you need to realize that the fan is designed to stay on for a few minutes after power off, as the components are still hot and the Xbox wisely continues to cool itself, so be mindful. Also the Xbox regardless of your power configuration will randomly power up for updates, which means the fan will turn on, therefore you're going to want to plug the power cord into an adapter that has an on/off switch, and plug it into that adapter and then plug the adapter into your surge protector outlet.
Might sound like a lot, but it literally takes 10 seconds. I do the same with my PS5 and both consoles are in amazing shape after years of heavy use. So 2 covers and two adapters ran me about $25. Dust free, moisture free, excellent care. Highly recommend this approach. Just make sure the consoles are fully powered off, cool to the touch, and cut off from active power to be safe. This will make your consoles last longer.

Of course it’s not perfect but it keeps the main parts clean. I’ve done this for 2 years now and my series X is perfectly fine. Only on Warzone and Star Wars Survivor. Decided to take mine off as well thinking there can't be that much if you keep it away from everything and regularly dust and vacuum I was shocked. For the most part it looked identical when I opened it to yours however any and every vent on every component was completely covered with a sheet of dust I'm assuming the heat cooked it and made it more of like a cloth than dust but now I'm shocked that it even booted up much less played everyday for basically 4 years

That area seems to stay pretty clear of dust and tbh when stripping the console to that level your looking at applying new thermal paste.
Only really worth bothering after four or five years imo.

The top Vents on the metal Casing Do tend to get Blocked but the outer Vents on the case Are normally open so it allows airflow either way so not a huge problem, it’s mainly the HeatSink. But you can just put a vacuum and some compressed air to the back vent at the HeatSink and bang. Problem solved

compressed air is the worst to use to clean your tech cause it can literally spray drops of water best way is to completely open it and clean it with a vacuum, brushes and isopropyl alcohol especially if it's durty like this you have no other choice but to fully disassemble if you really want to clean it
