I'd be very careful about breaking that seal to open the console and only do it if absolutely necessary. I was on the Xbox team in Seattle for 8 years and I know that when people would send in OG Xbox or Xbox 360 consoles for repair and they had that seal broken, the repair centers wouldn't even touch them. They'd just send them back with a "cannot repair - warranty void" note. I don't know if anything's changed with the Xbox One or Series X as I left before those were released, but I know that breaking the seals on the older consoles definitely prevented them from ever getting repaired by MS. I can't speak to the legality of it, but I know that's how things used to work with MS repairs.
Excellent video, by the way!! I've been a huge fan since I first saw one of your repair videos months ago. So fascinating to see you disassemble and repair these devices. I can't get enough!

Surprisingly enough, this is the only console in my entertainment center that sits up vertical. I stopped setting my systems vertical after my OG Wii suffered from so many falls from around the house. But because of the shape and the fact I know it won’t go falling over by others, I feel more comfortable sitting this one up.

I've discovered that you can aim some canned air between the fan blades and down through the heatsink, then you can use the flat end of a vacuum attachment and vacuum out the back, it actually spins up the fan but you can use the long red nozzle from the canned air to keep it from moving. Don't even have to take the back off haha.

Do you recommend using dust covers? I had a mini heart attack moments ago as I live in a dusty environment and have 4 pets, I'm in energy saving mode and I do a full shutdown of the console through the settings as I thought doing a full shutdown instead of power off through the controller prevents the fan up top from running. Anyways I went to remove my cover and could slightly hear and feel the air coming out the top and had a cover on it for a day...went to power on and the power button just blinked and nothing came on the tv. Unplugged power, pressed button for 5 secs, plugged back in and it seems fine now. I just dont know if I should use a dust cover anymore though

I can't understand why these consoles aren't made to have removable cases that latches in order to keep them cleaned out..These consoles are getting more and more like PCs, so they really need to have this without it voiding the warranty.

ps5 have that. You dont need to take out the warranty sticker to clean the fan.
Beside, you wont have warranty for the whole PC, you only have warranty for each specific part. If you try to open an individual part like a PSU or remove the sticker on your RAM then they will void your warranty.

I think it's great how knowledgeable he is and how he can help other people. But I believe game consoles are not really designed to be open all the time, it's easier with a PC because they're actually designed to be open, one of the things I do is I save the plastic sleeve that the console comes in, modify it a little bit and you get a free dust cover and you will never have to open your console.

So using a vacuum won't affect any of the components?

When playing a game on the series x that’s Installed on an external hard drive does it put more strain on the console ? , if I’m playing a game that’s installed to the internal memory the Xbox is Almost silent but when I play something off the external the fan seem to make a bit more noise ?

Sometimes it's impossible to keep the dust out. In that case you'll want to make sure to clean it more often.

Microsoft should make it that you can remove the backcover without losing your warranty. But anyway its easy to clean without that
