  • On the 1st of October 2017, we visited Ooldea Siding on the border of the Nullarbor Plain and Ooldea Range. The Siding is located at the 777 Kilometer on the Trans Australia Railway line. The Siding often sees crosses as many Freight Services from Melbourne and Perth pass the Siding every day.
    1. Pacific National Freight 7SP7 (NR25/NR77) from Sydney to Perth is seen on the Mainline with 6PM6 on the loop. 00:10
    2. Aurizon Freight 7PM1 is seen with 6041 & 6026 on its way to Melbourne from Perth. 01:50
    3. SCT Intermodal Service 6PM9 from Perth to Melbourne pulls into the Loop at Ooldea with SCT008/SCT004/SCT002 to cross PN Freight 6MP5. 03:20
    4. Pacific National Super freighter 6MP5 from Melbourne to Perth is seen on the Mainline with NR114/NR20. 08:50

This video is historic now as AZJ (stockmarket code for Aurizon) soon after pulled out of intermodal.
However great to see it back across the Nullarbor with its weekly Tronox mineral sands trains from Broken Hill NSW to of all places, Kwinana near Perth WA. A new one to video!

Nice stuff, thanks for sharing. Why didn't the 7SP7 have a crew car?

    Hi
Really appreciate what your doing putting these services online.
However just curious is it possible to indicate the actual models of the Diesel Locos indicated in the videos.
With a worldwide audience watching the clips it maybe of interest to some fans.
Actually the services themselves operate over thousands of kilometres in a not so friendly and very sparcely populated enviroment at times, which explains the passenger coach attached for the relief train drivers.
    Keep up the good work.

Yes: converted. How I loved travelling on the 'Bluebirds of Happiness' to 'the Mount', 'Gladrock' and Victor Harbor among other destinations.
