Very nice, I looked at the AMOLED Tactix but I will be good and not get one xD. Your setup is very nice especially with the 2X Tactical with much better battery then the nicer looking AMOLED.
@Skyvation643 I thought it would be something to mention because most people will think they still have a ton of battery with the light. But realistically, it will kill your battery extremely fast with heavy usage.
I also have the Tactix 7 and the Instinct 2x Solar Tactical, I love them both! I like to use the tactix as more of a smart watch with the touch screen and mapping features, whereas I use the Instinct 2x as my more rugged bang it around watch. The only feature I wish they added to the instinct is the nap feature otherwise I would be using instinct over the tactix a lot more!
I've been going back and forth on them so far. Also, wearing both at the same time for some comparison and testing. Might do it regardless, just because I'm strange like that.
I have a garmin forerunner 45. I enjoy it a lot. I’ve used a Apple Watch series 2 before. The forerunner smashes the Apple Watch. The best feature for me is charging once or twice a week. Now it is time to upgrade, and this one has maybe a month of battery and some added features. I believe this is quite the perfect smartwatch for me. Coupled with my Sony earbuds- I dumped the Apple Watch, then the AirPods… I think my next phone will be an android.
I have tactix 7 pro, but I have been thinking about Instinct 2x tactical for all the time I have it. I would even liked to change my tactix 7 on Instinct 2x if the last one had maps. Because I consider that Instinct 2x has longer battery life, more powerful solar charging and has more readable display. But maps.... ahhh. It would be the excellent watch.
The Instinct 2x Tactical is pretty close to bridging the gap and at half too 1/3 the price of the Tactix series. I know I will be enjoying both watches and likely do a follow up after a little while
Instinct 2X tactical is on $400 right now. As a person that regularly does not have cellular connection on my phone (because I'm cheapskate on buying mobile data), you reckon this is a good watch ? Any other choices within the Garmin ? I'm going for this Instinct 2X Tactical purely because of it's aesthetics/ color/ battery life/ not cellphone dependent/ basic fitness tracking/ LED light. I do not go outside the house that much, but when I do, it's usually for basketball / lightwalk / going to the office. You reckon buying this watch is kinda 'useless' for me ?
@tanboonkengg Depends on what you want. Since the watch has excellent standalone capabilities with the GPS system and other features. You at the very least have its capabilities if you need it at one point. Even a really nice basic watch can cost more than the Instinct. Garmin does have many watches that you can purchase with various features.
The non tactical version is basically the same. Stealth mode is basically (airplane mode), this has green light (instead of Red), and also has the software to obtain a 10 digit grid (MGRS).
Well, no! Airplane mode is not the same as stealthmode. Airplane mode just deactivates the cellular and wifi, but not the Bluetooth, and your location and data are still visible. You are definitely not allowed in some areas on base with those watches on, they have to be lockered for the duration.
To decide between the tactical and solar edition (both solar, btw) you have to check all the tactical functions and really think if you need them. In my case I didn’t want a green light. I prefer the red light, also I’d use none of the tactical functions. So I went with the 2x solar.
@leonpatrick5606 It's a amazing buy for the price. I love my Tactix 7 Pro ballistics but the Instinct 2X Tactical is honestly perfect if you don't want the extra features of a Fenix or Tactix series. I've been alternating between the 2.
@theninja9563 You're lucky. My wife would murder me if I brought another watch. The fenix cost $2000 here in New Zealand. And to be honest, if the Tactix 7 pro was available, I probably would have brought that for some unknown reason. Awesome video, mate
THERE'S NO WATCH ON THE MARKET THAT BEATS THE INSTINCT 2X FOR WHAT YOU ARE PAYING. AND IF YOU ARE A OFF THE GRID TYPE OF PERSON INSTINCT 2X OVER ANY OTHER WATCH ON THE MARKET.
Agreed, I was in bright sun and had the infinity symbol for days remaining. The Battery life can't be beat at this current time. You get very close to all the features of the Tactix series at much lower price.
@Ron_Armstrong You turn on battery saver mode. I also usually will have stealth mode on and get plenty of sunlight. I've had it give me infinity sign for because the instinct is because of very good solar intake. The Tactix and Instinct show a standard 90 days. Then, it will change based on usage and lux hours. For example, right now, if I put my Tactix on power saver mode, I get 57 days @65% battery.
Depending on if you have the Ballistics Edition. If you don't it's $300 to buy. Extremely expensive, especially since they have Truflite Ballistics calculator on the Garmin store for free and a $15 paid version. It's very comparable to Applied Ballistics.
@theninja9563 what watches can you run truflite on and do you recommend that over the tactix? Tactix seems like the ultimate watch but dang that price.
I got INSTINCT 2X SOLAR TACTICAL last week, is one of things that I will never regret to buy!
Powerful device on my wrist!
I have Tactix AMOL and Instict 2x TACTICL. The best couple ever. I love this.

Thanks for mentioning the light stats. not many people have seemed to say much about the battery with torch usage.

I would go for the 2x tactical but the lack of the red light is a big issue

Very similar but it has some additional features also but they are very similar. Same as the Fenix series vs the Tactix series of Garmins

I would have chosen that over the fenix 7x pro sapphire solar that i brought back in December.

Time to get a new battery for the smoke detector 😂
Lol, I was really checking mine.....
Like the thinking!

I did not realize the AB app was that expensive before buying the watch
@acanuck4life Yeah the 300 is pretty crazy.
@@theninja9563 I wonder if there's a way to jailbreak/pirate it
Can you confirm if firmware updates helped the 2x Solar? Backlight was pretty laggy on wrist turn.
Ill test out and give you a update. I usually have the feature off normally.
Mine is very quick once I actually started using wrist turn. No lag at this time at the very least for mine.
How did you get 70 days battery? What did you turned off?

Fenix Series,Tactix Series and Instinct Series. Most of the garmins. Ill test it on my Instinct 2x tactical.@nopejnope4444
Maps deal breaker
Can you see the coordinates like Lat and Long, like a regular GPS ?
Yes when you hold the top right button(GPS button). You get lat/long and 10digit grid.
