The design of the instinct is definitely not for me. Too much "wasted" space on the display. A monochrome Forerunner with a regular display and data fields and absurdly good battery life would be interesting though. Yes, I'm actually suggesting Garmin should make even more watches haha.
That’s a super interesting idea actually hahaha, maybe Garmin SHOULD make more watches ;) I must say.. the instinct isn’t quite for me. Not for a daily driver. But I can definitely see why this is so loved by the endurance/military community. It doesn’t everything you need and I bought it for $300 directly from Garmin with a discount. Not bad for an unlimited battery life watch 🙈
How do you think this compares to the Enduro 3? Obviously the Enduro 3 has way more features, but does the Instinct 2x feel old or missing key features? I have an Instinct 1 and am looking for an upgrade.
You should watch my Garmin Instinct 3X video I made a few weeks ago! I highlight some of the 2X shortcomings and even compare it to the Enduro 3 in the video. A little spoiler of the video.. the 2X chipset feels super slow, the maps feel super limited and the sleep tracking is terrible, especially when compared to The Enduro 3
@@ActiveIdeas Thank you so much! I think the Enduro 3 is the best upgrade for sure. I am curious to see if/ when Garmin refreshes the Instinct line. A Instinct 3X would be interesting for sure!
It doesn’t have a sapphire display and I somehow managed to scratch the screen after 2 weeks of use .. I’d definitely get a screen protector for this.. especially for any military/hiking/camping folk
@ Yes, it’s awesome BUT be aware of its navigation limitations and screen durability. Also be aware that Garmin are rumoured to announce the instinct 3 any time soon x
For in depth details check out my Instinct 3 deep dive about 3 videos back in my catalog. I don’t have any behind the scenes information on the exact date unfortunately but I do suspect it to release within the next few weeks tbh.
Hello someone gave me a Garmin Instinct 2x Dual Power and it came from Japan, my questionnis what is the difference between solar power is it just how they name it in other countries. P.S. I am ignorant in tjis watch as this is my first time having this kind of watch
Yeah, that will be an issue.. tbh though the chipset in this watch is so slow it’s already at its limit with software really. Does everything you’d need it to do with its might 64mb of memory or whatever it has hahaha
Right now for testing I’m rotating between Suunto Ocean, Fenix 8, Race S & Vertix 2s. For general training I tend to pick the smaller watches: Fenix 8 43mm & Suunto Race S. For ultra running I usually wear Suunto Vertical (I love this watch and it would probably be my daily driver if I wasn’t testing) & Coros Vertix 2S. I don’t think the perfect watch exists yet though. There’s still room for innovation from all brands.
I think you're all crazy😅 I can barely turn on my phone haha but I still kind of sort of want one❤ I'm a long distance backpacker and I do wear poles so I'm kind of bummed that you're saying it doesn't work as well with poles and also I hear number three well track the weight of a pack on your back which is pretty darn cool
@@sarahsundstrom1425 yeah the rucking feature coming to the Instinct 3 is going g to be fantastic! I would say wait as it is going to be released any week now ❤️ All watches will struggle with hiking poles tbh, you can get around it by wearing an arm band such as the Polar Verity Sense though! What’s your next BIG adventure!? 🙈
Just picked it up a month ago. Best watch I've ever owned by far!
Bloody fantastic aren’t they!
Great video. Something also you are showing and which is not easy to find elsewhere is how smooth the compass is on the Instinct 2X.
Yeah the compass on Instinct 2X is actually well impressive!
I was hoping it was a little chunkier looking but its a great watch i love it.. wish they made the band 26mm the whole way around instead of taper..
When I get super sweaty I become grateful for the taper, nothing worst than sweat rash on your wrist, but yeah, I get you!
@ActiveIdeas good point, I love this thing regardless.. ! Great watch..
@ yeah I love it! If it all kicks off in the world, I’d want the Instinct 2X Solar haha
@ActiveIdeas that's the "P" in my edc p a.c e. plan, paired nicely with the inreach mini2 for the "C" lol Garmin puts my mind at ease...
@@HUGH_JHANIS let’s go! 🔥 Out of curiosity what’s your ‘A’ and your ‘E’ then?
I have owned one for 7 months. I love it
It’s fantastic isn’t it!! Can’t to see what they do with the Garmin Instinct 3X soon.
Keep rocking it - another great one
Let’s gooo brother! 🔥👊🏽
Aaaaaaand: Bought it. Going from a 7 year old Fenix 5x sapphire. Super psyched ☺️
You trolling me bro? This is mad 🤣🤣

The wasted space is the solar cells for unlimited battery

Keep in mind that they stopped releasing feature updates for this watch, only bugfixes (to little success but still...)

Instinct is the Garmin you will ever back to
With its unlimited battery life, I’ll always respect the Instinct 2X. This thing I’d the real deal! 🔥

My comment reply thanks🙏I am india 🇮🇳 giveaway only Garmin watch ok thanks 🙏🙏🙏
Does it still have the bizarre lower resting calories than all the other Garmin watches? Makes it difficult to use alongside another Garmin watch.
@charlesellwood5422 I never actually noticed this. It’s probably related to the old generation HR sensor unfortunately
