    I love the Cumulus 25. I returned the Nimbus 25. The Cumulus is more versatile and feels more stable to me.

    Ryan,
    I stumbled on you when looking for some information about the difference between the Asics 24 and 25 cumulus.
    Thank you thank you thank you!!!
    Your reviews are fantastic. I went to 4 different high-end running / sneaker/shoe stores and ask them what the difference was between the 24 and the 25 and no one could give me an answer other than "it looks different."
    Your review was extremely comprehensive, informative, and super helpful!
    It's so amazing when you come across a professional that loves what they do... You clearly do and it shows. Thank you

    Oh man, I love Asics ! I'm just returned from my 12km long run made with a Gel-Kayano 29 !
    Can't wait to try the Gel-Cumulus 25 ,that should be more nimble and versatile then my beloved Gel-Nimbus 25 .

    I recently got my Cumulus 24 (discounted due to release of 25). After a few runs, I am perfectly happy with them for what they are!
    Comfy and quite versatile and the amortization is reasonable unlike in Nimbus, where it's just soo over the top imo.

    Nimbus is FFBlast+ Eco and Cumulus is normal FFBlast+ which I found softer than the Eco version. Real tired of brands messing up good shoes for eco marketing

    ? or Nike invincible run 3.

    Not a fan of this trend of widening the base of neutral shoes a la Hokas, makes things feel sluggish and pondering. If I needed stability I'd get a stability shoe

  • @ConorMcGrath

    Cumulus 25 is terrible (for me). I've used Cumulus 22,23 and 24 being very happy with them - actually could do some faster work in these. The Cumulus 25 has to be the slowest shoe I've ever worn. As an under-pronator the new stability works against how I run and gives me pain in my right ankle - I think it's due to these slopping sides to stabilise the large foam stack. These shoes might be great if you have perfect neutral foot plant. To run quickly I need to rely on my Magic Speeds which have a more traditional stack height. I'm going to see if I can pickup a pair of 24's or if not find a neutral shoe with a much smaller foam stack. I think I'll need to be very careful as the trend seems that every shoe needs to be a stacked elephant footprint Hoka clone! Kayano 30 looks to have the same problem - 29 looks like a shoe I might wear.

    • @atostesjr
      @atostesjr ปีที่แล้ว

      EXACTLY!!! The Cumulus 30 will probably have a 5" stack. This design trend is simply horrible in form AND function!

    How they compare to the novablast? I’m around 200lbs and pound the mess out of shoes. Been using novablast 3 but need new shoes and want something similar. Need good cushion because of fat pad issues but also something that don’t irritate sensitive Achilles. Yeah my feet not the best. Novablast almost toommusch cushion around the heel in the upper. I like a flared out upper at the heal. Do have about 350 miles on my novablast. The grip on the outsole isn’t great either. Slick for me if pavement is wet. And super slappy loud. Loudest shoe I’ve ran in.

      I would say for heavier runners who really put a lot of pounding on their midsoles, stay away from the softer foams which lose their resiliency. In other words get the Cumulus 24 on discount rather than the shoes with softer flight foam blast plus or turbo. Or get the Saucony Triumph 20 or 21, or the Saucony Ride 17. That midsole is known to be very long lasting. I tried the Ride 17 and it felt very very good from a stability aspect as well as the midsole cushioning which was controlled without being too soft.

    Hi new runner here. I just bought the 25 at road runner. Feels great but I was wondering the associate helping me was telling me I have a pretty neutral gate and that when we went to the shoes he was having me try on all of the cushioned shoes instead of the stability shoes so I’m wondering how do I know which shoe is max, medium cushion if I’m not shopping at road runner? How do I know what to look for?Thanks for the video

    I've been using Cumulus for the past 3 iterations and I must say that 25 feels pretty sluggish. Also the fit is a problem. If I don't tie them too tight my feet kind of swim around in it. If I do tie them too tight I'm flaring up an old injury on my right foot. I might switch to another brand if they don't fix the moonboot styling.

    Ryan, tough question here, can you think of another shoe from the Cumulus 25 that is quite comparable? Anything from Saucony or New Balance that would compare favorably?

    • @BonLazaro
      @BonLazaro ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For me it's the more v4 from new balance coz they both don't have any plates in them. But the nimbus for me can do tempo and easy runs unlike the more v4 it's just strictly for easy runs for me.

    • @prwnrdy
      @prwnrdy ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah I have the More v4 and they are great, I think they are even more plush (in the midsole only, nimbus got a better upper imo). I also have the Triumph 20, they have an amazing fit and I feel like they are a bit more reactive and poppy than the nimbus and the More. So if you want the best cushion, go with the More v4, if you want a bit more snappiness but still great cushioning, go with the Triumph, and if you want a bit of both, go with the Nimbus! 😄
