    Thanks for pointing out the forefoot flexibility of the Cumulus. Much appreciated. It's an important trait for me.

    I am using the cumulus 24 for a lot of training runs. Super comfy and it’s a workhorse. I use the nimbus 24 and 25 for races. Very bouncy and responsive.

    I think I have the weirdest ASICS lineup. I like to feel the trail so I like the Fuji Lite 3 & I also do sprints during track practice sometimes while coaching in these. My legs are typically beat up because of this so I jog in the ASICS Nimbus 25 & I tempo in the ASICS Superblast (which were a gift).

    I wanted a shoe for casual use, so I bought the Nimbus 25/Nike Invincible Run 3/Cumulus 25......I still have the Cumulus. May take it out for a slow run to test it's daily trainer credentials. The Nimbus felt the same as you thought, clunky in the heal.

    I love the Superblast. Good for long runs at any pace. I don't like the Novablast 3. In the Novablast 3 my feet slap 🩼🩼🩼the ground (heel to toe) fast making the feet swell up after 10k... Nothing good comes from foot slapping the ground 😂. I also don't find much energy return from the Novablast 3. Superblast worth the extra money 👍🏻

    how would you compare the softness of the 3 FF Blast+ shoes? Do the 3 feel equally soft or is there any difference due to foam density or stack height differences ?

    • @RoadTrailRun
      @RoadTrailRun  ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Nova Blast 3 not quite as soft as others as lower stack. I would say Cumulus softest at the heel and a bit thinner and quicker feeling at the forefoot than Nimbus. Superblast has the quickest foam return due to Turbo. Not as soft but so much cushion

    ASICS NOVABLAST 3 LE
    ASICS GEL-CUMULUS 25 TR
    Kiprun KD900 Light

    • @RoadTrailRun

      Not familiar with Kiprun. Between Nova and Cumulus if new to running probably Cumulus. Nova a bit more speed focused.

  • @OSUCarol
    @OSUCarol ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Where does the Glideride fit? I know that the rumor is it'll be discontinued, but with money as no object, how does it stack up against the Superblast? I've been eyeing those two, and maybe the new Cumulus, as lighter, cushioned long run shoes. Unfortunately, I can't try the Glideride in any of my local stores.

    • @RoadTrailRun
      @RoadTrailRun  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I like latest Glideride 3 and yes it could be in the comparison. A bit more stable than Superblast and a bit heavier. Rigid rocker but in latest a bit of flex.

  • @Blank-Knight
    @Blank-Knight ปีที่แล้ว

    Thank you, I think the traditional flex of the Cumulus is getting rare. I like rocker design but if it doesn't work for me, it is terrible. Unlike most RTR testers I don't get along nicely with the rocker of the Trabuco Max 2. I just wondered if the TM2 rocker is comparable to that of the Superblast? That would really most likely ruin the shoe for me. Besides my dislike for salmon colored midsoles. 😎

    • @RoadTrailRun
      @RoadTrailRun  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry I have not run the TB2 but did the TB1 and Superblast. I am not a fan of rigid rockers in trail shoes when things get more technical and paces slower but well done and not over rigid I am fine in road trainers if preferring some flex. I like the rocker in Superblast which is not of the plated variety but due to the thickness of stack and lower Fyte Foam Blast Plus layer.

    • @q20a08
      @q20a08 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RoadTrailRun I'd also be interested if any of your RTR people had opinions about how the TB Max 2 midsole fits in with these others. Some other reviewers seem to think it's a very interesting thick slab of "blast +" foam. Some hinted it reminded of the Nimbus.

    I have a hard time believing the C25 has more forefoot stack than the Novablast 3, just from looking at them the Novablast has way more visible foam underfoot. Pretty sure whoever typed the specs on ASICS' website made a typo

    • @chubbylab
      @chubbylab ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Until the N25 & C25, Asics didn't include the insole & outsole in the stack measurement. Hence, the stack height for the Novablast 3 is less on the website. In reality, the NB3 has a wee bit more stack at the forefoot (compared to C25). According to runrepeat, the forefoot of the NB3 is 30.xx mm. The drop is

    • @RoadTrailRun
