@@Boss_Tanaka James Cameron's a four-time divorcee, if ANY of his ex wives say a word about rape or domestic abuse, then he's finished forever, the Avatar sequels will be cancelled. He had to do a woke Terminator movie with Linda Hamilton, who happens to be one of his exes. His others are Gale Anne Hurd, Suzy Amis and Kathryn Bigelow.
I think T3, Salvation and Sarah Connor Chronicles were decent attempts to continue the story. Genisys, as a reboot, also had a decent story, but it was badly cast except for J.K. Simmons, Lee Byung-hun and Courtney B. Vance. Dark Fate was the worst film in the series (well-made, but terribly written).
Whats crazy to me is that the CGI still holds up. Effects were jaw-dropping in 1991, and most importantly, still an immersive experience today. Making the ILM team one of the best effects companies ever.
Yes, poor Robert Patrick took that shotgun round right to the face, regenerated and recovered quickly. Poor actors; they get shot constantly on the movie for real and they don't even have free medcare. Yea, you like things behind grey screen. You're unbelievable.
T2 is also one of the first movies to use entirely digital compositing. Gone were the days of layering film in an optical printer, praying the results would not suffer from misalignment and visible matte lines.
Today a lot of movie concepts and stories are dependant of CGI effects. And when it needs special effects, it can't work without CGI because it has to come along the other modern movies. Hand made effects had something unique and powerful that made them authentic, real, but it was expensive and had its limits. CGI won't ever get the same power and energy, but it offered limitless creativity and a way to built a movie on an infinite scale (like Marvel movies for example).
STILL one of the benchmark films which sets the tone for other filmmakers to Reflect upon. And it isn't solely because of the EFFECTS. Nope. It's because James Cameron's 90's films truly had some serious heart and soul.
Terminator 1 & 2 is arguably one of the best duologies ever made, the sequel makes perfect sence to the first and expands and adds a lot of innovations while still feelimg like a plausible continuation

@@Biring1 I can kinda get it for T3 and Salvation given that SkyNet would have to happen regardless for everything to work. It may not be canon, but I think of it as T3’s judgment day being the “original” way SkyNet takes over until they send the first terminator back which accelerates Judgment Day until they fix it in T2, and Salvation just shows how John meets Kyle. Hollywood doesn't make anything as good as this anymore.
I know they sure don't. Movies like this one and Aliens and the predator, man great movies. I can't stand the movies today. I haven't been to the theater in a long long time. I am so happy that I grew up with movies like these.
One of my favorite movies of all time. Arnold is a god, and Cameron is the greatest action director of all time.
@Logan Stroganoff Wtf.
@Logan Stroganoff easy on the shrooms junior
There is no one like Arnie. What a legend 👊
Perfect casting, perfect music soundtrack, perfect film. Cheers Jim 👍
I'm glad this was uploaded on here. I remember sending something in , some proof of purchase to receive a copy of this behind the scenes on VHS when I was young. I'm 36 now and probably haven't seen this in 25 years, crazy.
29:30 "The conclusion of the Terminator saga".
So true. Everything more recent is garbage.
especially the last 2...
@Karl Legrand old Sarah Connor the true ending for me
2:23 ‘’l wanted to make sure it didn’t kind of drift off the concept of what it should be about’’
Well after this one it drifted off my friend, it drifted off big time
@@Boss_Tanaka James Cameron's a four-time divorcee, if ANY of his ex wives say a word about rape or domestic abuse, then he's finished forever, the Avatar sequels will be cancelled.
A classic that will forever stand the test of Time. James Camerons finest film probably. Watched this countless times
Handsome Robert Patrick! Brilliant role he did. Thanks for this program.
Whats crazy to me is that the CGI still holds up. Effects were jaw-dropping in 1991, and most importantly, still an immersive experience today. Making the ILM team one of the best effects companies ever.
That's what you call making of a movie, no green screen
Yes, poor Robert Patrick took that shotgun round right to the face, regenerated and recovered quickly.
Poor actors; they get shot constantly on the movie for real and they don't even have free medcare.
Yea, you like things behind grey screen.
You're unbelievable.
@@Only_God_Is_Allah_SWT facts!
@Gregor Grex no CGI? i you watch the video? -_-'
T2 is also one of the first movies to use entirely digital compositing. Gone were the days of layering film in an optical printer, praying the results would not suffer from misalignment and visible matte lines.
They actually did use green screens. For example, when the t-800 picks up John in the canal chase they are not actually in front of the semi.
Even after 30 years this is still an amazing film special effects wise and I can't think of a movie that has come close since.
Still holds up you see Avatar
The making of history. The making of the greatest action film ever made
Under siege 2 a distant second?
the fact that almost all stunts were done without any editing is just insane to me
I watched terminator 2 stored a VHS tape many hundreds of times in the 1990's - that's how good this movie content is.
They understood real effects must go hand in hand with CGI effects something they have forgotten today
A friggin masterpiece! I was in high school when it came out and we saw it in the theater probably 4 or 5 times cause we couldn’t get enough of it!!
Cinematic piece of art right here, something we’ll probably never see again…
STILL one of the benchmark films which sets the tone for other filmmakers to Reflect upon. And it isn't solely because of the EFFECTS. Nope. It's because James Cameron's 90's films truly had some serious heart and soul.
Terminator 1 & 2 is arguably one of the best duologies ever made, the sequel makes perfect sence to the first and expands and adds a lot of innovations while still feelimg like a plausible continuation
"You cannot risk yourself for me--even for a moment. You're too important."
*Dark Fate immediately kills John off.*
I hate how the sequels undermines the importance of the story in T2... Makes it feel like it was all for nothing for no good reason.
@@Biring1 T1 and T2 were meant to be a completed story. 3, Genysis, and Dark Fate basically dragged the films to the ground. Salvation was a suto prequel in my opinion. It may not be perfect but it was at least a decent flick
The other two movies are just bad fanfiction put on screen.
@@jaredgarcia8638 The real Terminator 3 IMO would be seeing the aftermath of their actions on the other side. Skynet realizes that it has lost and just as the reality they know begins to crumble Skynet, in a last ditch effort, send all their Terminators to several different eras in human history with the Resistance right behind them as always.
T3: No Fate
@@danielanderson8322 hmmm...interesting concept.
I really appreciate how physically attractive both terminators are. Arnold's olympia body goes without saying. Robert Patrick back then was handsome af.
This movie never gets old,one of those that stands the test of time. Jurassic Park,T2,Dazed and confused are just some for me that never age
Saving Private Ryan, Dark Knight, Mad Max Fury Road, Robocop (not for everyone but I love it)
What you’re saying is you keep getting older but dazed and confused stays the same age?
"Thats the great thing about this movie...I get older, but they stay the same age."
For me it’s actually the music that makes this film so special ( obviously the special FX too ) . The fact it has little CGI is why it’s so good .
23:17 I had no idea that was an animatronic, all these years/decades. Damn there was so much heart and love put into these movies back in the 80s/90s. It was always about the content, never the profits.
I watched Terminator 2 when I was 6 but now I'm 26 yeas old. [Termiantor 2 - Judment day] still be a best action movie I ever watch. Thanks for actor, thanks for creators, Thanks for everyone had been join in, and Thanks [TERMINATOR] had been gave to me a best memmories until now
Terminator 2 is easily one of the top 5 films ever made.
T2 was one of the best and it can not repeat again in 100 years
I was a teenager when I saw T2 in theaters... We scored the 2nd showing at around 2-3AM and the line was out 1/2 into the parking lot of our cinema. It was a small town and I would say about 300 people where there (a lot for that town). We didn't mind waiting because we were just kids messing around at our usual hours...
just watched it again last week after so many years , not many words to describe such magnificent work , it is just epic in all aspects
I’ll always love T1 and T2. These films are so iconic. James Cameron directs some amazing movies
to this day, after watching T2 ABOUT 17 TIMES.....Linda in the scene with her doctor guy, her acting send schills down my spine, Still. That is REAL. ......but its amovie. I dont think anyone couldve potrayed that kind of "real"emotion like she did. She brought that scene & scenario tro life & made you feel it.
I literally believed Linda was insane in those scenes w Dr......and so cold and calculating to buy her visit w her son...perfection, and an Oscar worthy performance. That scene still gives me chills to this day watching it
James Cameron is a Visionary Director. Terminator Series Movies are based on Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things. This Movie was ahead from their Time.
or the story was written by people who plan and steer the worl affairs
All these many years later and it remains as the greatest action movie of all time. There is no topping T2. It's simply perfection.
Nothing short of MASTERPIECE is what this movie was, is and will be.
I was honoured to be able to watch it at the cinema and it's one of greatest films ever. 1991 was the start of a new decade and we had the terminator watching over the 90s
32 years and counting and still a classic.
RIP Stan Winston, this and Jurassic Park were some of his greatest masterpieces, what an exciting time!
One of those rare moments where the sequel is EVEN BETTER than the original...though the original is also pretty epic. The rest, meh.
True. It is very rare that a sequel is even better. I think probably would rank both movies as pretty much even in my opinion, but I can understand why you would consider Terminator 2 better.
@@alfreddreamer9097 when I was younger I preferred T2 now that I’m older I prefer T1. I just like the grittiness and and impending doom of the first one.
Yeah, Taxi2 was also better than the 1.
I love how John has a “public enemy” shirt on in the film
gotta be the greatest movie of all time. the special effects just blew me away
The greatest sequel ever.
I was born in Dec 1991,
I remember watching this movie with my family when I was few years old.
it left something in me as something beautiful in my childhood.
I wish I was old enough to enter this movie in theaters. The people who did saw it in theaters and specially in theaters near it's shooting locations in California those people have all the luck in the world.
Theres no better word to say this movie is a trully masterpiece of perfection, and mindblowing to believe after 30 years any action movie can beat T2, Thanks James Cameron and all the artists you guys are the best.
The special effects still live up to 2021 movie standards.
I remember watching this in the cinema when I was a kid. Absolutely blown away.
Terminator 2 still after all these years, My favourite movie. Like Resident evil 2, my favourite game. Very good backstage clip. Made my day.
Terminator 1 and 2 were phenomenal films. Lucky to have gone to universal studios orlando as well to see terminator 3D. James Cameron is a genius.
The franchise should have ended here at perfection.
Yep, agreed. I wouldn't have had a problem with more if all done in the same style by James Cameron... we didn't get that :(
This video popped randomly into my feed. This is one of the greatest cinematic masterpieces of all time.
Robert Patrick as T1000 is one of greatest casts in Hollywood history
Saw it the night it came out with a friend. One place was sold out, managed to get in at another theater. We were blown away. So many of the effect I didn't even know existed at the time.
T2 always remains one of the Best , Iconic Action Movie ever👍
Probably one of the greatest sequels ever made in cinema history. I've seen his movie hundreds of times from VHS to DVD to Blu-ray to 4K. I've seen all these formats I also seen in theater in 4k This movie is amazing. I've analyzed every frame every scene, the movies is masterpiece. It's a movie buffs. Wet dream T2 outstanding film. The only other movie that comes close in sequel form for me is aliens and that's for a different time in another story .cheers
Empire strikes back?
I had no idea that the terminator getting shot in the police station while he walks toward them was entirely animatronic. I've seen this movie so many times, and that one slipped vy me eveelry time. I always thought the bullet hits were CGI, and it was actually Arnold walking. Holy crap!
Same here! In fact, so many of the effects which I thought were "very good CGI, still holds up 30 years later" were the real thing! It's mind-blowing!:)
That's the beauty of Stan Winston. He is missed.
I remember watching Walk the line with Patrick as Cashes dad and during that movie I was thinking about T2 the whole time. What a fantastic actor.
What a film. What an incredible film. Still apart of my top 5 flicks of all time.
Just watched this movie for the first time recently and now it's my top 3 favorite movies of all time. The cast, production, cinematography, soundtrack!! How in the world can anyone watch T1 and T2 and be bored at any point??
James cameron knows how to direct movies.
Believe it or not, Terminator 2- Judgement Day is the first ever movie that i watched in my life. It was in 1996, only 5 years after its released. Can't believe that my first movie was a Science fiction, and is still considered as the greatest Action and Sci-fi movie till date.
One of the very best if not the best scifi action film ever made, its an extraordinary movie that transcends its own genre.
No green screen 💯💯💯👍👍just pure hard work and it was raw
This movie was so well done considering how little CGI went into it and so much actual physically done scenes, it's absolutely amazing... they don't make them like this anymore...
You are right Dex
Because cgi doesn’t make good movies, but rather a nice tool to use.
@@bettywhite9634 But also the absence of CGI lends to more heartwarming storylines in general. If you can't fill up a movie with special effects, you actually gotta fill it with substance lol.
Nobody can deny this is one of the greatest sequels of all time if not the greatest.
