Totally agreed, but mostly as the best action movie ever made. I love Terminator one too but it just pales in comparison to T2. its still great, just not as great as T2. T2 also has the better villain, better action, better direction, better character interactions, better acting and is just a better movie. if i ever have to make a top 5 action movie list, it'll be like this. 1. T2 2. Inception 3. The Matrix 4. Terminator 5. The Raid or John Wick series.
It's no secret that Arnold is generally not great at acting (he can be good but he's not Brad Pitt) but when it comes to the Terminator, he's amazing. His attention to the subtle details of robotic behaviour is outstanding. Robert Patrick was also phenomenal at switching between the personable dialogue of the "cop" and the cold-blooded machinery of the T-1000.
It's still pretty heavy now but at this point, even though he has been in the United States for over fifty years, it's not something that's likely to change. I think that if he came to America when he was a child and not an adult in his twenties, he would have lost the accent by now but the accent is an accepted part of who Arnold is as an actor by now, I even think it helped with his success as an actor, that may sound a little strange to say but what I mean by that is that it made him different and stand out from other actors. Even James Cameron said that the famous ''I'll be back'' line from Terminator is such a memorable line because of HOW Arnold says it. If someone else said it, it doesn't have the same impact and resonance. But because of Arnold's accent, it helped make the line the iconic and memorable line it is today.
Awesome video, thanks for putting this out there. God damn Terminator 1 and 2 were such amazing movies, one gets lost in them and forgets that they are watching a movie. Soundtrack is so powerful too that upon hearing it all the emotions associated with it come rushing back.
James Cameron really is an incredible film maker. He was able to make the best situation out of any scene and makes everything so dramatic and effective. Many of his other films he has made, he brings everyone out to a real place that is very similar to scenes in the movies and makes them live there for a while. He said it helps everyone get into character better by experiencing the real thing
Cameron: "...a movie people will see over and over..." Lmao. you have no idea. I've basically lost count how many times I've seen The Terminator. Too many to count -- and I'm not a millenial. In fact I've watched it like twice this week alone.
Maybe stop puking this horseshit into every video that features a good female character from some older time. There are good female characters today, but you need to stop looking at shitty modern Hollywood if you want to see them. Actually, that goes for almost anything in terms of film/television.
LOL, I think you mean Terminator 2, she's rescued like fifty times in Terminator and barely survives by turning on a crusher. Hey, turns out the two characters are pretty similar.

“Real acid? My eyes! The goggles do nothing!”
Beat me to it. 😂
Thought I was the only one, god bless the 90’s Simpson’s.
I quoted that aloud too! LOL.
I wonder if the Simpsons were referencing this production.
Sean Wieland haha
LMAOOOO
everything james says is so thought through, it's pleasing listening to someone with this rare quality
4:22 James's artwork.. what a genius i mean really. Wow
And the sequel, Terminator 2, is the best film ever made.
Wrong Terminator 1 is better.
I like the first one better. T2 is great too...
1. T2
2. Inception
3. The Matrix
4. Terminator
5. The Raid or John Wick series.
T2 was a masterpiece and set the bar for special fx that movie was well ahead of its time definitely agreed that T2 is the best movie ever!!
Amen brother
This was AMAZING! Thanks for putting this up!
First movie I remember I saw, me and my cousin and his dad watched it. Back in the days when parents let you watch everything and it was awesome.
I love how the terminator uses Reese 's line in T2. "come with me if you want to live."
9:50 I love the transition from "or in the eyes, it burns a little bit" to a shot of his mangled face in the movie. Nicely edited retrospective.
I like how the interview begins in the day and by the end it's night.
Haha Arnold's accent was so much heavier back then
It's still pretty heavy now but at this point, even though he has been in the United States for over fifty years, it's not something that's likely to change.
It sucks that aging is even a thing i miss the old young cool Arnold :(
Uzi nein millimeda
There's interviews where Arnold talks about working to keep his accent, as he sees it as part of his trademark in films.
@@JR-ju3kj If arnold didnt have an accent I would probably not like his character as much. His accent is what makes all the oneliners.
Awesome video, thanks for putting this out there. God damn Terminator 1 and 2 were such amazing movies, one gets lost in them and forgets that they are watching a movie. Soundtrack is so powerful too that upon hearing it all the emotions associated with it come rushing back.
The part that gives me chills is when Reese tells Sarah why the Terminator is after her. Absolutely awesome scene.
"And he WILL NOT STOP...UNTIL YOU ARE DEAD." : O
Wow. All these years I assumed The Terminator was written specifically for Arnold. That's how perfect he was for the role. Amazing.
Yeah, most people don't remember Arnold wasn't Arnold just yet.
and they say arnold had 'chicken legs'??? those calves are bigger than cameron's head..
@Norm T they are huge
these days few things are bigger than Cameron's head =P
James Cameron really is an incredible film maker. He was able to make the best situation out of any scene and makes everything so dramatic and effective. Many of his other films he has made, he brings everyone out to a real place that is very similar to scenes in the movies and makes them live there for a while. He said it helps everyone get into character better by experiencing the real thing
People have a go at arnie's acting, but the way he conveys focus in this movie is so impressive. He is terrifying as the Terminator.
What I love most are the final scenes in the Joshua Tree NP: "A storm is coming." So iconic.
Cameron: "...a movie people will see over and over..." Lmao. you have no idea. I've basically lost count how many times I've seen The Terminator. Too many to count -- and I'm not a millenial. In fact I've watched it like twice this week alone.
Are you married?
I've seen it tons, too. and T2, Twister and Titanic and a few other great movies. it's fun to re watch films..memorize lines, lol.
FINALLY! English subtitles! I've been waiting years for that!
Arnold's acting was really great? He was so soulless, brilliant!
I love Arnold; I'm not gay; but he makes guys feel that way.
See Captain Marvel? this is how a strong female character is done
You should blame directors not the actor. actors are just vessels that live out the imagination of directors
cristhianfs or Ripley from aliens
Maybe stop puking this horseshit into every video that features a good female character from some older time. There are good female characters today, but you need to stop looking at shitty modern Hollywood if you want to see them. Actually, that goes for almost anything in terms of film/television.
@@theepowerful Uma Therman - Kill Bill and Pulp Fiction , Winona Ryder - Stranger things.
LOL, I think you mean Terminator 2, she's rescued like fifty times in Terminator and barely survives by turning on a crusher. Hey, turns out the two characters are pretty similar.
Thank you guys for making the best action movie concept ever. You both were brilliant.
I miss Stan Winston.
Me too😢
Classic movie that never gets old, born in the 80ts grew up with it.
I am stoked to see Cameron once again make a terminator movie!!!
Terminator 1 and 2 are just amazing. Amazing.
The alternative ending of t2 is the official ending of the series. No gyfiness, no sam Worthington, no gi Courtney, no evil or dead john Conor, Nothing!
Its very rare that the sequel is better than the first, but T2 is just so amazing
In the 90's we got lucky w/ a bunch of sequels that were actually mostly better. Definitely rare, tho.
Omg omg what an honor to be watching this such and honor homie homie
If Arnold is reading this
I don't know what to say
Speechless
Reading this movie's script and having some coffee we can find so many details that we missed watching it. Very enjoyable.

Just what you see pal
you cant do that.....WRONG!
😅😅😅 This thread rocks.
This movie is the only movie, I've trielessly watched over hundreds of times since my childhood. every line, every scene is a classic and it never gets old.
“We did pour acid on you”
Okay then.
Watched it again last night. It's a masterpiece.
9:47 when they were talking about the acid and the face and the eyes etc, did anyone else think of Rainier Wolfcastle in The Simpsons shouting "my eyes! the goggles do nothing!"?
LMAO Holy shit you're right XD
I think it's incredible all the emotions i go through, while watching The Terminator, and especialy Terminator 2 Judgement day.
T1 interview with T2 back music.. Just wonderfull.
+Turbito Bernardi i thought the exact same thing :)
That painting Cameron did is amazing !
I love this movie. I remember having my teeth out from the dentist and watching it at home sick and recovering...!!! 😬🤕👌 Inspiring film...!!! 👍
People always comment on how good T2 is but this movie was so ahead of its time and well done. I love how visually dark it is.
The nostalgia is strong on this interview.
Linda Hamilton will be 60 this year, cant believe it.
in T1 she was nice and pretty . Now she looks like shit to be honest she hasnt aged well at all , lines and wrinkes all over her face , she's a smoker and guess thats white people aging for you
smoke and drugs and not working out makes people not aged well and terrible
smoke and drugs and not working out makes people not aged well and terrible

@@jameskng8176: You said that... three times!
Michael Beihn plays in two of the coolest action movies of all time: Terminator and Aliens
don't forget "THE ABYSS"!!and it is also directed by James Cameron!he's kind of a psychopath and loony Navy Seal, but heyy!!still an AMAZING actor that he is, MICHEAL BIEHN!!
Bill Paxton is also in both of those films (not for very long in Terminator though) :)
@@leacasalan1160 he wasn’t a psychopath, he was suffering from the pressure sickness
The one movie that had all genre's in one - action, thriller, drama, romance, elements of comedy and ultimatley horror! T2 was simply an action movie.
This interview takes place in about 17 years from now.
I've lost count how many times I've watched this film.
they just don't make em lilke that anymore.
Arnie owns the conversation ....credit to Cameron......great orchestrator and enabler.
Perfect film
6:42 The TENSION! Love this scene 🔥🎬👏🏾
James Cameron with high fever: *conceptualized The Terminator
Me with high fever:
*a useless potato
I still remember the epic twist in T2 being the best plot twist ever. Just that moment when arnold says "get down" to john!
Yup, people forget about this
movies were so good back then. Loved Arnold still do. Commando is my fav tho
90's grunge? Commando?? i don't know who you are but now you are my friend :)
i lied...
Did they shoot the interview in Myles Dyson's house? :D
So james cameron had a nightmare and that's how they make a terminator. this movie camed out in 1984
It was more like a vision. When you're fighting a flu or a severe fever your mind goes places that it usually doesn't. I've had that experience myself. It's weird.
Probably a fever dream
with avatar, a dream i think he said. This man is a god.
@@23Nemesis they're called fever dreams:-)
04:19 Holy shit... James Cameron can paint... I wonder if he was a concept artist. It would make sense, considering his meticulous attention to detail when crafting his action scenes and plot points.
fyi, he drew naked kate winslet in titanic
*+strongwise |* Thanks for the info. He's got skills for sure.
Thanks to Jimmy Cameron, when I got to see this film I think when I was 9, I fucking shit myself, and to this day is THE only film that has ever scared me, lol I was so scared I wouldn't goto bed on my own that night for the fear of one of these bastards waiting for me at the top of the stairs.... then as I learned about lucid dreaming I would call in a terminator to fight my nightmares with me, so thanks for the memories... from the highlands of Scotland.
How about stealing another t-800 and reprogram it to protect you. XD
Just came from Griffith Observatory and took pics where the terminator arrived and overlooks la. Also don't forget about the score. Awesome music
Two immigrants made one of the best movies from the 80's ( I love Arnold and James Cameron)
+roberto Fernandez are not all americans immigrants?
+Chucky Justice Ja right not the real old Indians.. :)
+dave hans this made me wonder that is there some time limit where they are no longer immigrants? usually people call group natives when they have been there for several thousand years.
+Spanish Armada Tats right, immigrants, not ILLEGAL immigrants.
+Spanish Armada Not all immigrants are equal. Some will assimilate much faster and will become productive to society. Other type of immigrants are more a burden than are contribution.
Saw this in the cinema as a kid. Mind blowing effects for the time. Great movie that still holds up today
