You should add the deductions to a separate column if a pattern emerges. If the car is buggy you should point it out. I surely would avoid any car that's buggy on the chargers given that more and more EVs are on the road and the possibility that I will have to wait for a charge is getting higher. So the car failing constantly would be a nuisance.

    • @bjornnyland

In Spain the LR Model Y costs €70.000,- and the base XC(C)40 (only FWD) is more than €25k cheaper ... the prices do not include the government rebates ... so, here the price difference is quite big and the Volvo seems like a decent deal compared to the Tesla (though the Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ionic 5 are only a few thousand more expensive in their base versions when compared to the Volvo). The Q4 e-tron starts at €51k and the BMWs are even more expensive.
Anyway, this (especially the C40 FWD) is something that is certainly on my list of cars to consider ... I kinda wish it came with the big battery ...

Great video as ever - thank you. Quick Q - 0833 finish minus 30 mins equals 1103 yet got rounded down? You didn't deduct the 5 mins off the Eqb because it "couldn't predict battery" but this is just as bad yet gets rounded down? Seems very unfair that this was "faster" than eqb.

Volvo EV cars have 3 major problems: 1- Very high consumption (there are a bunch of other EV cars with similar battery capacity that can run much further); 2- google maps predictions are not to be trusted (and that’s really bad); 3- charging speed on the top end of the battery (because the consumption is always high you need, on long trips, to be charging the car to high values, specially here in Portugal where there are not that many 150+kw chargers). Of this 3 problems, it appears that volvo is only addressing the charging speed problem. They should really work on the consumption aspect as well, because is just crazy… and there’s no real reason for it.

China's XC40 / C40 Recharge + Polestar 2 are made in Geely's Luqiao factory, and currently only for the Chinese and Australian markets. Volvo can barely meet China's demand for its recharge models with its manufacturing capacity.
