That would be adorable. They should do something like that. I actually like the island a lot more than the bowser blocks. There's no challenge to the blocks, it's literally just "stand in one spot and wait for Bowser to do a breath attack at the right angle." And the blocks are almost always at ground level, so you don't even have to do any platforming to get to them. The island overall just seems like a better implementation of the whole idea of "get to this one location while Fury Bowser's throwing sh%t at you".
I STILL hope that Nintendo Switch sales SUFFER a massive decline due to PS5 & XSX getting their supply problems fixed and Nintendo's forced to scrap the Switch Pro by their shareholders in favor of going 3rd party.
Bowser Jr was ticked off at bowser because bowser put parental controls on his switch, so he cried, and cried until bowser got so pissed he found a new power: RAGE!
Bowser's Fury really makes me want a fully open world Mario game with that inventory mechanic. Where it's just one large world that doesn't need a menu to progress.
This port would have been perfect if they added like a few new playable characters to the main campaign. Wario: Slow, but with midair or ground based Dash Attacks Bowser Jr.: Super floaty, but with a short jump and small attack range. Waluigi: Tall and Slow with an increased jump and able to grab ledges. Daisy: Able to pluck turnips out of the ground in Small and Standard sizes(without a power up). Can also float like Peach, but for 70% as long. Pauline: Slightly slower then Toad. Can also place a smallish ladder to climb up walls that anyone can use(like the ladders from the original Donkey Kong).
Yeah. I seriously thought they were gonna add more playable characters into the port. Like, can you imagine seeing Daisy being playable for the first time in an mainline game?
With 3D World, Odyssey, and New Super U all coexisting on the same platform, it's easier to appreciate each one for what it is without worrying about what it _could_ be.
I still enjoyed Odyssey a lot for the discovery and exploration feeling, things that Bowser's Fury couldn't make me experience, but the more compact and challenge focused nature of this game made it a really, really fun time! It shouldn't be a surprise though, since it combines the good stuff from Odyssey and other 3D Mario games with the 3D World mechanics (plus some new ideas) to create this awesome, little adventure. I really hope they'll explore this kind of Mario game more in the future, it deserves it!
Playing this on Switch made me realize: Timing is everything. Not everyone appreciated this game on Wii U because we wanted something like Odyssey. Now that the sandbox itch has been scratched, I think a lot more people will be open to actually trying 3D World out and finding out just how awesome the game is.
Or still kinda disliking it because it's basically a 2D mario game with an extra dimension and actual effort. The actual effort makes the game worth the buy but it's difficult to appreciate since it removes a lot of the parkour 3D Mario is loved for on the first place.
IMO; I think 3D World is the best 3D Mario game. Not because it plays differently than the other 3D Mario games. But because it has alot of quality to the gameplay, level designs, an great party selection of characters to play, the way it's structure and great for speedrunning it as well. I know many people complaint it isn't anything like 64 related stuff. But I vastly prefer the linear style 3D Mario games over the open world/collecthon ones.

I love 3D World. Ever since E3 2013, I had a specific desire to play it, and now it's one of my favorite Mario adventure games. I haven't played Bowser's Fury yet. I lost my Switch around three months ago, so I need to save some money for it. I'll try Bowser's Fury eventually, though. The soundtrack is fantastic. Good job, AntDude.
It's incredible how Mario is just in another plain of existence when it comes to videogames. The worst Mario can only be compared to the best videogames thta have been created in the last 50 years. A short 4 hour dlc gets released and it automatically becomes the best game of the year. Mosy games role is to waste your time in the most tedious, slow way possible. Mario just says fuck that and simply lets you have fun and that's it.
I'd love to see the next proper 3D Mario game use powerups as a central mechanic. Imagine if you unlocked powerups almost like a metroidvania style, and you can swap between them on the fly. Instead of losing them when you get hit, you just have the HP meter that most 3D mario games have. Like, imagine Galaxy's Ice Flower, but you could use that any time you want. That would be sick!
Fact is, Super Mario Odyssey is extremely repetitive, easy, has a pitiful story, the environments are ugly and the core mechanic with Cappy is no different than hitting a question mark brick. Super Mario Odyssey literally is looking for moons to power your ship to fly to the next location to look for more moons to power your ship, that’s it. It doesn’t even make finding moons a challenge, you literally turn a corner and there is one, you go to the next corner and there is another...it totally diminishes the value of finding a moon. All the bosses inbetween including the final boss are three head stomps to win, there is no challenge in that. This seems like this was rushed by Nintendo...it’s basically the Korok seed portion of Breath of the Wild with a Mario skin in a smaller environment. It's a big 6,5/10 for me and i hope Nintendo will correct these issues for the next game. This game is with Super Mario Bros 2 (NES) at the bottom of the list of Mario games. (Don't get me wrong this game is not a bad game but it is overall a bad Mario).
I finally got this gme about a week ago, and your stream of bowsers fury was like the only one I've watched most of, also I think I even clipped that part at 9:48
“Put down your pitchforks”. But…, but…, you just said you like 3D World more than Oddesey! I very much want to pick up my pitchfork thank you very much!
Bowser’s Fury and even by some extent 3D World is definitely the perfect template for all future 3D Mario games. Full 360 movement, power ups, item inventory, etc. it’s all there!
@@MirrorHall_Clay And a lot are a little different in odyssey as well A little different doesnt mean unique and that still makes them feel a bit filler
@@light_player07 but it’s still a different layout, it’s like the red coins in the other 3D Mario games like sunshine and 64, they aren’t filler it’s just using what they have to their fullest. Odyssey felt like it was adding filler just for the sake of it and it never really felt new, not that odyssey was bad but it had way too many moons where bowsers fury I think had just enough where it wasn’t too tedious, even the bowser blocks weren’t that bad.
When you play Bowsers Fury, you can get a cat bell that is pink, and then you can ride Plessie, make Plessie jump, when Plessie is in the air dismount and then ground pound and then you’ll get about 10-7 coins every time, if done correctly you will land on Plessies head and then start to mount Plessie and you can keep repeating
I'm gonna be honest, I feel the same way. Odyssey is phenomenal, don't get that wrong, but 3D World is so replayable, charming and full of genius level design that I was stunned by. Plus that soundtrack? Easily one of the best compositions Nintendo has ever composed. It makes me happy 3D World was given a second chance and people are seeing it for what it is, it's easily one of my top 5 favorite 3D Mario games
I loved bowsers fury, and if it's tech demo of what mario is going to be like in the future I'm all in for it. Odyssey is still my favorite 3d mario, but this side mode is definitely up there.
I would love to see a 3D Mario game that has a huge focus on power-ups. It’d be fun to see how you could complete missions with different power-ups. Hell I would love a 3D World sequel that aims for both the Hardcore and Casual players like what Odyssey does. Also if in a hypothetical sequel to Odyssey, Mario and Cappy traverse through several worlds like the world of Fire Emblem Three Houses or even non-Nintendo properties like My Hero Academia, what kind scenarios would you imagine Mario and Cappy getting into?
I absolutely love 3D world, it’s not THE best Mario game but it’s one of them. it’s like 3D land is the child and then when they grow up they’re 3D world. 3D land will always have that little bit of spark, that’s just nostalgic though. 3D world takes what makes the 2D games fantastic and fun and then makes it modern. Bowsers fury... is really fun and has great potential, it’s like if they took what make the 3D games great and fun and then made it a seamless transition.
"...but I always looked at 3D World for what it was, and not for what it wasn't." Isn't that what we should always do? Nice words. Also, Jak and Daxter!
I loved bowser's fury, was definitely a fantastic experience despite how short it was. I am also on the boat of liking 3D world more than Odyssey. While I thought Odyssey was a fantastic game (except for the game's story), 3D world just hit different, more enjoyable in my opinion.
There have been so many times where I’m just riding Plessie away from Fury Bowser, and suddenly he jumps right in front of me and I literally scream before doing a sharp turn- actually kinda terrifying
Hands On Hall. That is my favorite Mario level in 3D World. If you look at the announcement trailer for this all back in last September 2020, (when the world was dying) you can see Mario dawning a Goomba Mask, and that’s the level.
I love 3D World. I like Odyssey better, but 3D World is fantastic. And as far as Wii U ports being full price, my thoughts are always the same- they can add nothing and I still think full price is fair considering how having these Wii U games but portable is worth double dipping on. And beside that, I feel like it’s reasonable given how the Wii U sold... poorly, let’s not kid ourselves. The vast majority of Switch owners didn’t own a Wii U so these are fully new experiences for them. ...Of course, if you’re gonna charge full price for a collection you won’t support beyond March, that’s where I put my foot down. I’m okay with the Switch ports because I like having cool games on my Switch, but I fully understand they can be grating to some of us Wii U faithfuls, us precious few. As for Bowser’s Fury, I don’t have it yet, but the mode HAS to be a proof of concept for a similar style of game for a future Mario title. Just give us like, 7-8 worlds like Lake Lapcat and boom, Odyssey 2 and it’s just as bloated as last time which is a-okay for someone who just likes running around finding shiny things.
I was 100% one of the people who disliked 3D world back when it first came out, but now it's a blast every time I play it. Time (and Mario Odyssey) truly did wonders for that game.

Yeah, i think you are overexaggerating.
3D World is no joke my favorite Mario platformer. Glad you enjoy it as well!
A new antdude vid is honestly what I needed rn
3D World over Odyssey? That is definitely an interesting take for sure, I respect it though, especially since I love both games a lot
@@K.J.Richard Reddit user.
I finally got this gme about a week ago, and your stream of bowsers fury was like the only one I've watched most of, also I think I even clipped that part at 9:48
I’m glad someone else thought of Jak while playing this
"And it's a SIDE MODE!" what I think every time I play the subspace emissary.
Bowser in 2019: im playing golf
Bowser in 2020: 0:20
“Put down your pitchforks”.
But…, but…, you just said you like 3D World more than Oddesey!
I very much want to pick up my pitchfork thank you very much!
I’m glad I’m not the only person who loves plesie
Bowser’s Fury and even by some extent 3D World is definitely the perfect template for all future 3D Mario games. Full 360 movement, power ups, item inventory, etc. it’s all there!
"Little to no filler"
Majority of the cat shines being repeats of older shines: 👀
Yeah, but they're different because of each island's gimmick
The fury blocks, on the other hand...
@@MirrorHall_Clay And a lot are a little different in odyssey as well
A little different doesnt mean unique and that still makes them feel a bit filler
@@light_player07 what filler was there in Odyssey?
Quite a lot, i wanted to 100% the game but just gave up cause i felt no reward from those moons
Mario Maker 2 fans when they saw the title: and I took that personally
10:40 seeing the Bowsers hold hands is more precious than I'm sure you expected it to be XD
The Fury Bowser theme kinda sounds like Open Your Heart from Sonic Adventure.
Pretty sure the real reason Bowser is pissed is because boy did not tidy up his room again.
Personally, I liked both Super Mario 3D World & Bowser's Fury more than Mario Odyssey.
Glad someone else prefers 3D World over Odyssey!
Antdude: “the next Mario game is going to be dog themed”
Nintendo: *”B U N N Y”*
Since mario maker 2 was the last mario game (that wasn't a port) and was released in 2019 That makes it serval years ago
And by several, you mean a few 2-3 years then your right
This is so true with the large caveat that it's stunted by it's length and small world. But definitely sets the tone for a proper sequel in the future
“My hot take is I like 3D World MORE than Odyssey”
I’m so glad I’m not the only one who feels this way!
@@SketchSpooks "top 5 for 3d mario games" well that's not that hard i guess lol
I can’t believe bowsers covered himself in oil and became a furry
Luckily Bowser Jr. And Mario were there to talk him out of becoming one. I mean...he has a child for god's sake.
bowser and his son are the only things in this game that don't have cat ears at any point so idk about that
I never had a Wii U and I *Love* 3D World! Everytime I play it I think “just one more level”, and I haven’t had this feeling in a long time!
I never had a WiiU, so I got the game when it came out for Switch. I love it, both modes. 3D World is probably my favorite Mario game right now.
"...but I always looked at 3D World for what it was, and not for what it wasn't."
Isn't that what we should always do? Nice words.
Also, Jak and Daxter!
This was my first time playing 3D World, and it was amazing, i loved the game
Buying Mario 3D World to play Mario 3D World: ❌
Buying Mario 3D World to play Bowser's Fury: ✅
I bought it for both
Man I'm REALLY hoping a super mario 64 ds remaster. imagine that game, with at least wii u graphics. Itd be a masterpiece
I love the huge sass they gave mario throughout the cutscenes. even mario was done with bowsers shit
I loved bowser's fury, was definitely a fantastic experience despite how short it was. I am also on the boat of liking 3D world more than Odyssey. While I thought Odyssey was a fantastic game (except for the game's story), 3D world just hit different, more enjoyable in my opinion.
Same, but i hate everything in Super Mario Oddysey. 3D World is way better.
Bowser's Fury feels like the original Jak & Daxter and had me realize i want a Mario Game like that
5:00 “put down your pitchforks”
Nonono you’re absolutely right. 3D world is better than odyssey.
I like odyssey for speedrunning, and that's it. A good mario game for casual play is 3d world
To me, Mario Galaxy 2 is better than Odyssey and 3D World
@@isaiahthechristiangamer8716 you right.
@@iancole2279 Yeah, but that’s just my opinion. Don’t get me wrong, they’re all great games.
@@isaiahthechristiangamer8716 they’re all great games (except for Odyssey)
the idea of a game with the creativity and movement of odyssey but with the structure of bowser's fury? i NEED it
There have been so many times where I’m just riding Plessie away from Fury Bowser, and suddenly he jumps right in front of me and I literally scream before doing a sharp turn- actually kinda terrifying
I like 3D World more than Odyssey as well. Glad I'm not the only one.
3:30 *HOOHOO intensifies*
I was 100% one of the people who disliked 3D world back when it first came out, but now it's a blast every time I play it. Time (and Mario Odyssey) truly did wonders for that game.

Edit: I know it was very unoriginal, but this was the first thing I thought when seeing the thumbnail
10:57 actually for any% usually you never wanna open the bowser blocks because you would have have enough shines for the giga bell fight before bowser shows up. Might be good for the last few where he doesn’t go away though...
