Yoshi's gone through so many aesthetics, Wooly, Crafted, the stylistic choices from the SNES games, DS games, Yoshi's Story...what could be left for our dinosaur to explore. Dare we think, perhaps it's time to revisit a clay aesthetic? Perhaps Yoshi can take a leaf from Mario and pursue Paper interests?
Imagine yoshi and baby mario after super mario world 2, traveling mushroom kingdom with different side characters and baby mario can have all his power ups, yoshi can wear different boots etc...
I think going back to the hand drawn look of Yoshi's Island could be amazing, especially if everything was actually drawn, crayoned, painted, etc. by hand! It could look amazing in 4K.
I always loved wooly world’s mechanic of throwing yarn at template thingies and watch them form into the respective color. I don’t know, it just filled me with such joy to watch them knit themselves and I felt a little creative watching the colors I chose come together in the levels

So what Antdude is saying is that both games are good but if you want the traditional good Yoshi’s island style of gameplay then wooly world is the game for you but if wanted a unique but still good and still kinda 2d game then crafted is for you. I like that idea.
With Both games, it really depends on, how cute do you want to go? Woolly World have some awesome yarn mechanics and Crafted World has some very unique crafts that work the levels. The one thing I will say, I have played the majority of Crafted World, and only played the first 3 levels of Woolly World. My preference is for Woolly World. It's that much more enticing to get every possible Yoshi knit back together. Crafted World drove me nuts because often times I would have to replay a level over again until I got everything. What tips Woolly World for me is it's soundrack, man it's good. Crafted World's soundtrack is lacking in it's diversity.
Those bonus levels after you beat Crafted World are absolutely terrifying. I can’t tell you how many times I died before beating them without collectibles. Oh and I think crafted world wins because who has a Wii U anyway? Lol
Same. I lost count on how many times I had to play each of them. I had to play on 'Mellow Mode' and it was still hard for me. I think I'm really awful because everyone says this game is so easy.😂

Wooly World is also available on 3DS! It's much better to play it handheld mode trust me. It's such a beautiful game and I love being able to take it with me. (It's also a nice relaxing game to play while on an airplane)

You know, at the end there when you discuss punishing yourself, I honestly thought you were going to play Yoshi's New Island again. The music from that game still makes my soul weep, for Yoshi's Island has some of the most iconic music from the SNES era, and seeing them attempt none of it hurt deeply.
So hot take time. I can enjoy the crafted world music. I would never call it good but it is goofy and fun in a specific kind of way that for small amounts of time I can genuinely smile along with it.

I see where you made this guess based on the model suddenly being switched to the same one junior uses in new island, but new island makes it very clear this is an infant Bowser, even with a weird moment in the end with Bowser traveling back through time to protect his baby self. (seriously.) They just decided to make him less original looking for some dumb reason.
One of my biggest issues with Crafted World was the overload of things to hit with your eggs. Nearly everything in the background was interactable and you never had enough eggs. Particularly bad were those timed minigames where I 100% of the time hit the ? with 1 egg left and just couldn't finish it through no fault of my own. You could waste 10 minutes per level just throwing eggs at garbage and it devalues the mechanic
Wooly world was perhaps my favorite game when I grew up with the wii u, but since I did some moving around I cant find my origanal console, I only have the gamepad which now has a cracked screen. Thank you for helping me relive those memories
plot: crafted world. The story is more involved and funny. egg: crafted world. The gameplay around them is just better. collectables: wooly world because the side items I don't bother with. I go with the main collectables. Cute factor: equal. Most yoshi games are cute. Music: wooly world. Just more variety.
So uh i definitely like the crafted world soundtrack not the slot machine soundtrack thats just absolutely terrible like it seems like its deliberately terrible but as for the rest of the soundtrack i kinda like its like i dont know low budget atmosphere i know it was not made on a low budget but it deliberately sounds like mostly toy instruments and is overly simple but i still like it also the main theme is based on yoshis new island main theme which is based on flower garden and you cant change my mind such a great melody
Definitely, Yoshi's Island for Snes is awesome. Between Woolly and Crafted world, Woolly world is far better, complexity makes it a better one. The fact of passing through every level almost four times in average in Crafted world makes it tedious. Concerning the design, Crafted world is extraordinary. I check the levels in both sides and they did a great job. Just enjoy both games, that's what I did.

It's pretty incredible how Crafted World has you play each level 100 times and yet I can't remember a single level

plot: crafted world. The story is more involved and funny. egg: crafted world. The gameplay around them is just better. collectables: wooly world because the side items I don't bother with. I go with the main collectables. Cute factor: equal. Most yoshi games are cute. Music: wooly world. Just more variety.
Not wanting to hear Mario cry legit caused me to become a god at Yoshi’s Island as a kid.
So uh i definitely like the crafted world soundtrack not the slot machine soundtrack thats just absolutely terrible like it seems like its deliberately terrible but as for the rest of the soundtrack i kinda like its like i dont know low budget atmosphere i know it was not made on a low budget but it deliberately sounds like mostly toy instruments and is overly simple but i still like it also the main theme is based on yoshis new island main theme which is based on flower garden and you cant change my mind such a great melody

Definitely, Yoshi's Island for Snes is awesome. Between Woolly and Crafted world, Woolly world is far better, complexity makes it a better one. The fact of passing through every level almost four times in average in Crafted world makes it tedious. Concerning the design, Crafted world is extraordinary. I check the levels in both sides and they did a great job. Just enjoy both games, that's what I did.
I wish Woolly World was on the Switch.
Also, it IS Baby Bowser. Bowser Jr. is not a part of the Yoshi series.
