#Tesla #Robot #Optimus - วิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี
What I was most impressed at is when the robot put one block on top of the other and it tipped over. Without skipping a beat and with nearly human dexterity, it used some of its fingers to pick the block back up and put it upright.
Division of labor happens in factory such that most individual humans will have a very simple straight forward job. This robot is just for that. Its likely meant to speed up their own factory production first and foremost, then scale it to other avenues. This is just a natural extension of their own inhome AI software. It makes sense.
I think it could be surprisingly useful after 10 more years of iteration. Full self driving is a good analogy… it’s taken a few years to perfect, and it’s still not 100% there (after about 7 years?), but the rate at which it’s improving and gaining capabilities is just amazing.
It's not a good analogy as FSD currently is a mix of programming (logic) and AI (detection of objects) while this is 100% AI, which is likely going to progress in a different way.
I usually read old news on CNET.
optimus' growth rate is amazing
Looks around the same size as before
Indeed! Am waiting for then to release the "Prime" version 😊
What sets the Tesla Bot apart from others like Boston dynamics is the software or the brain in teslas case
the price i think will be a huge factor too if they manage to hit their target
It uses Elon Musk's own brain 🧠 neuronal network
amazing Stephen for catching the background music from Ex Machina
This is what will take away manufacturing jobs, no doubt. The CEO of Ford won't make just 29 million a year, he/she will make 300 million a year because they won't have any employees. And when robots can build cars, then they will also be able to build and service other robots. The robot service industry is a myth and will reap only short-term benefits when weighed against college costs. Where are the multitudes of people supposed to work to make money to feed their families? In U.S. society getting anything for free is evil, so the idea of a universal income is dead on arrival. So what will folks do?
The end is nigh buddy
I agree, but to be fair - those who work on warehouse wages aren’t feeding their families. They’re barely feeding themselves
Probably politics: people like stupid politicians
either masses wake the f up and revolt against capitalism and governemnt, or we all die. simple.
If this year's DEFCon proved anything, the people have the power and the people want democracy.
Now you can add the bot to the driving seat to hold the sterring wheel during autodrive
wonder if optimus will count as an extra person when sitting in the passenger seat as I drive in the HOV lane...
The unforscene real world variables in humanoid function are immense. The closer the machine can real world - real time gather and make movement decisions will render better life like movements.
What if that machine is used in conjunction with normal cnc or a conveyer belt production system.
As far as i am aware, they are also using the tesla self driving hardware. So this is essentially a really small and really slow Tesla-car with much less destructive power than a regular one. It is a great application of the already developed self driving hard- and software, as long it isn't fully safe to be used in a self driving car.
I would be interested if it could clean my house.
John Connor: "We're not going to make it. Humans, I mean."
The Terminator: "It's in your nature to destroy yourselves"
"no one calls it Tesla bot "
The video they are showing is literally called Tesla bot update......
i was impressed at how much faster and more fluid its actions became when they sped up the video by 2x. in future we might see even greater improvement if they decide to speed up the video by 4x. exciting times!
I was going to say this. Thing is, they don't need to fake it, it's all still impressive enough
Coping?
They do not need to speed it up. A robot can take all the time it wants when humans are not there.
At the right price, I could see Optimus becoming a household helper for consumer purchase. I could buy a singular robot mower, or I could buy an Optimus to mow my lawn,. And then it could also trim my bushes, mop the floor, clean/stack my dishes, do my laundry, etc. But, really depends on the price. Tesla (really, Musk) claims around $20k per bot. I don't know if I'd want one at the price. But maybe when I'm old and frail.
Future “employee of the every month” in Gigafactories. Goodbye Unions
Like it or not these robots are the future workforce and companion. These robots will be common around the world by 2040.
Tesla Bot to change oil? WTF CNET?
Did notice too that the background music in the demo video was from the Ex-Machina movie. Intriguing choice...
Its more a 🥱🙄 choice
Fascinating and frightening in equal measure...
I hope get to live long enough to see all this happen and get some time to enjoy it to. 🙂
Game Changer ✅
Job Zapper ✅
It is just amazing what people can create I hope one day they can create something yo help people born blind a artificial eye that gives sight
Neuralink
The true and only way to help people that are blind is through medicine and biotechnology so that people will have functioning sight.
Hey remember when Honda did this 20 years ago and it could play soccer
What I am really looking forward to see is when a robot can do all the housework and take care of the elderly. Since no one (human) really wants to do such job and mainly because of low pay and physically demanding, I can see such robot can solve this problem, especially many countries have aging population issues.
yeah solves the problem right. lets have robots provide care to the elderly? Do you have any understanding how that would impact the elderly population. Wow humans are so dumb
Mark Zuckerberg the robot man is punching the air right now
Programmer's right hand bias? It should easily be able to do a two handed sort.
Done is better than perfect!, It's easy to talk, but do it...
im so ready to hide in the apocalypse
I liked the expert's commentary
I'm just upset I won't be here to see the full benefits of these robots in place. If only I could get a peek into the 2100s....😢
careful what you wish for
these robots are already being used in some places, wont have to wait that long.
I guarantee you’ll see some of the results within 10 years, possibly even sooner
saying "we are there yet" is so boring. we know we are not there yet! but it is an exciting future, especially Tesla is approaching this in a very interesting way (mass production)
The videos are sped up
Work in progress.
Nice
Fluid movement . . . our new yoga teachers.
Amazing! Optimus is less than 2 years old and he already learned how to work faster than a UAW worker!
You mean the people who have been assembling our autos successfully for multiple decades now?
@@BobPagani Exactly!! Some of these ppl are so heartless and mean. Thanks to UAW workers, we have functioning cars on the road! I support the workers and the working class!!!
@@pamelathompson6783 We could live without the billionaires but they couldn't live without us.
Optimus: "I'm a visual learner. I need to see it rather than read about it."
Using AI and training it on how an actual human moves was a clever idea rather than attempting to manually program in those movements by hand. Still, we've seen robots for many years and they've all failed to actually be useful to the commonfolk, and it will be many more years until they get it right. I'm not afraid of a "Detroit: Become Human" situation anytime soon.
The robot determined your hand moving the block is stopping progress, it reaches out and grabs your wrist
2 years for a v1 that can do simple tasks like clean a house/office seems doable
I think the only shot we have to Surf the Stars is to someday merge Bots, AI, and Human Consciousness. It would be the only way to "live" long enough. This is only the beginning.
Tesla Bot always walks in a straight line. In the future I bet it will be able to turn as well.
Can you get optimus sentient
200 years from now gonna be REAL
X-pression ?
Welcome T1000
The Singularityyyy
Who thought it was a good idea to put background chime+drum music against the people talking about it? Apparently you somehow think that improved the presentation, instead of simply being distracting, annoying, and making hearing what was said more difficult.
It's pretty cool, and I worry a great deal about what he rise of A.I. and smart robots will mean for humanity...
Making robot for specific task will be better than humanoid robot.
Wrong answered (formally known as "tweeted").
Decepticons
Why it working with only one hand? It is not human, it can be trained to work with both hands simultaneously. For now it is righty.
Optimus is so advanced that it even boasts telekinesis, watch it it magically move the blue block just around 1:05 !
Awesom-O" 5000
Omg what has he done
I think I like David Pakmans word for what tweets are now. They're 'Xcretions'!
Tesla renames themselves to Delos and Meta begins building it West World
Can optimus do laundry take out the garbage
OK, you ask us what to now call a Tweet, well maybe a Twext and for Tweeted, Twexed.
BTW, since these Robots walk so slowly but can have much the same "self driving" capability as a actual Tesla, maybe training them to ride E-Bikes is a next step in that they could get around quickly on their e-bike, and then dismount and walk about as needed and then get back on their E-Bikes and return to where ever they started.
This would be much less of a hazard than a self driving car but could be a way to further develop their abilities for autonomous operations and might find several niche applications to fill as well. Plus it would get these robots out in the open where the public can see them and thus get use to the idea of having robots about.
Twext is a great name
I live in the real workd and so my thoughts are that if it cant do real world tasks (mow the lawn, change the oil on my truck, etc) then its just BS to get investors money
I dont get why we make a sci fi movies about how scary and evil this all turns out and our first instinct as humans is to say -yeah I wanna make that a reality. Buncha morons... I mean it's kinda rad, but also.... stupid. Somehow.
Considering the U.N. predicts that the world's population is expected to peak at about 10 billion in the mid-2080s, and some forecasters see this earlier, in the '60s or '70s, the time will come in just 40-60 years that we will need robots to do the more menial tasks humans now do. And the transition can be gradual, as humans will remain far more productive for decades, while an increasingly large part of the human population ages out of work and will, in turn, increase the need for labor as they require care. So, while there will certainly be some dislocations, some shifts in what humans do, there will remain plenty for humans to do as robots become more capable and enhance our productivity.
The key will remain focusing, as we have so far failed to do, on guiding the development of the "AI" driving robots and other devices to ensure it develops in a way complimentary to humans.
World population will never reach 10 billion by 2080.
Game changer and useful helper.
"Embrace the partnership between humans and robots, for together, we build a world where limitations are shattered and possibilities are endless."
-A wise man
Agree with A. Wiseman, whoever he is… guessing not Musk. Like with autonomous driving (as mentioned in video) over-sold. Better to perfect a narrowed skill set to assist drivers/workers (ie, those made of flesh & blood).
Cleaning
Creepy Human Robo!!! 🖐🏻😨🖐🏻
Asimov would be proud if still alive.
terminator is going to happen really soon
Can optimus blend in with people through design teams from tandon engineering nyu cory bear polytechnic tandon nyu metrotech and all schools in the world working on artificial intelligence sentient
and look at it now
Innovation always seeks to solve a problem. We must ask ourselves what problems humanoid robots might potentially solve. The answer is very insidious. What do the bourgeoisie and their power find problematic with humanity? What do they value? What do they fear?
Boston dynamics has are ready did this
People worry about these things taking their job....worry about the near future when they're chasing you through the streets, trying to take your life.
so, Elon in a robot suit
They will get married and have robot kids, roboworld
When are we going to Mars?
Self driving debacle ??? Is this guy living under a rock or what?
Terrifying. Like an ex telling me I doing it all wrong. This goes here. No, here.
The fsd debacle????? Rome wasn’t built in a day guy
The video of the robot is at 1.5x speed. Who did this Tesla?! This is deceitful.
If robots take the jobs who will biy the things companies produce. I'm not worried because in this scenario another economic system will be needed.
Dammit Elon Musk why are you always right?
How's that Hyperlook going? Where's that Mars colony that was supposed to be up by 2020? How's Solar City getting on? Is X doing well?
FSD is not an exaggerated claim. Tesla needs time to make it good for many people not for a few enthusiasts only. Safety of others is very important as, the government is doing nothing in FSD innovation, so they are taking the time, to make it better. There is no exaggeration in their promises. Some people who are jealous of tesla wants to make it look like it is exaggerated.
Well we now have mandatory 20mph speed limits here in the UK better to fall asleep whilst something else is driving.
IF COMPANIES DONT HAVE TO PAY WAREHOUSE WORKERS THEIR PRODUCTS CAN BE CHEAPER!!
QUICK EXAMPLE:
McDonald’s Raised wages to $15/hr+ and a McChicken went from $1 -> $3!
what happened to his eyes
The problem with Robots is they don’t pay taxes, they don’t buy groceries or fuel or clothes or…….. The gap between the haves and have nots is only made larger when robots replace human workers.
That's gonna make every thing cheaper and affordable .
The robots do not pay taxes employee do that and so does the corporations.
There should be some legislation on what type of work these can do. The sensible purpose would be to do tasks that would be dangerous for people.
For NASA, sending a robot to perform an EVA task would prevent a human life being put at risk. Maybe such a robot could be managed / driven remotely like an avatar or drone.
Nope. I want it flipping burgers and making coffee, too. Ban the 30, 60, 80% tip screen.
Hey, they're only about 20 years behind their competitors now. 😄
I'm in no doubt it will be the first working human like robot for domestic use on the market..how well it will work .. that's the question..im going to call mine "SUNNY" or maybe "MEGAN" or " DAVID" or "ELON"!!.❤️🇺🇸😎
My greatest happiness is the gains I get consistently from my venture despite the business cycle. The U.S NFP is a key factor and knowing how to use it is very rewarding.
ECS still delivers a very good yield despite the downturn affecting the whole world.
Great content and I thank you for breaking it down. Even with the current rate, I'm still Glad I can smile back at my portfolio being built weekly.
With this gains sent to my account each week, Gwen Irene Hodges is very amazing.
HOW? I know it's possible? I would appreciate if you show me how to go about it.
I've got some pretty good gains since I came across Gwen Irene Hodges. My life has completely changed all thanks to Gwen's awesome ways!!!
Robots taking jobs should be a good thing. We just need to reconfigure our economy so that it can function without humans working for a paycheck. The most straightforward way to do it is with a universal basic income, the productivity of the machines is shared among everyone (the owners of the robot could get an extra share if you want to maintain capitalism), so even as human labor becomes obsolete, humans still have money to buy goods and services provided by the robot.
And we don't have to wait for the robots to take all the jobs, we can, and should start now. We can tell how automated a company is by dividing their revenue by the number of full time workers they employ, use that information to determine how much they should be taxed to fund the UBI. At first the UBI probably won't be enough to live on alone, but even a little bit of help will do a lot of good for people who need it most.
Whether Tesla's robot ends up working or not, they do have a reasonable path to success, and it is highly likely that given enough time (which might be 5 years, or might be much longer), we will have robots that can do any physical task a person can do. That means we need to solve the social problems that will come with mass unemployment before that happens.
Calling FSD a debacle shows such obvious and extreme bias I would never trust anything else from this reporter. FSD has already saved countless lives, is being used by 400,000 drivers to make them safer and is generally thought to be close to finished.
Overhyped and very slow. But am glad about the dexterity . It need to be on the same speed with a human to be useful and able to carry the same payload with an average man in an industry.but so far only atlas is capable of carrying such load with a claw like hand
X-cretions
I like Elon Musk and respect that he's trying to get us away from fossil fuels, but as usual, his stuff is overhyped.
Tesla robot has advanced incredibly in 2 years.
They will advance with AI.
Tesla uses electric servos [axial flux maybe?] instead of Boston Dynamics that uses hydraulics.
tesla uploaded a x-video.
WOW!!!;)❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉🎉
