World Robot Conference 2023 was held in Beijing, which became the largest in its history. 7 days instead of the usual 4, 45 thousand square meters, more than 160 companies and more than 600 robots, almost 60 of which were presented to the public for the first time! In addition, more than 300 international experts came to Beijing after the lifting of anti-cowboy restrictions. What struck our film crew most of all at the exhibition was the great variety of humanoid and bionic robots, which predictably became the main hits of the exposition. But first things first!

The robotics exhibition was an exciting platform for showcasing the latest advancements in the field of robotics, particularly in China. For over a decade, China has been the world leader in robot sales, accounting for over 50% of global sales of industrial robots. The exhibition was a testament to China's continued dominance in the industry.
The exhibition featured various robots with incredible capabilities and features that left audiences in awe. One of the highlights of the event was the Unitree Robotics showcase. The H1 humanoid robot and the Go2 robot dog were the most popular robots showcased. The H1 robot stood at almost 180 cm, weighed about 50 kilograms, had maximum joint torque of 360 Nm, 3D-lidar, and could walk at a speed of more than 1.5 m/s while also being able to run. The company believes that the humanoid robot can start a new industrial revolution, with a range of applications that can be expanded in both industrial and service sectors. The Go2 robot dog, on the other hand, was relatively affordable to the general consumer. Priced at 9997 yuan (about $1,370), this model was equipped with 4D lidar, which makes its sensor system 200% better than the previous version. The Go2 also provides a new human-robot interaction experience by combining AI voice interaction with various movements and functions.
Apart from the Unitree Robotics showcase, EX Robots also featured a robot that performs the dance "Thousand Guanyin." The robot demonstrated the effectiveness of joint technology that can be further developed and used as prosthetic hands. The company is also working on creating robot doppelgangers that can replace humans in different activities. Another interesting robot showcased was the bartender robot that has already started working in a bar in Kunming.
The exhibition demonstrated that the robotics industry has come a long way in recent years, and there is still a lot of potential for development and innovation in the field. There is no doubt that China is at the forefront of the industry and is poised to continue leading the way for years to come. The country has been investing heavily in the robotics industry, and this is evident in the incredible capabilities of the robots showcased at the exhibition.
In conclusion, the robotics exhibition was an excellent opportunity to see the latest advancements in the field of robotics. The showcased robots were impressive, and it is clear that the industry is moving towards more advanced and sophisticated robots. China's dominance in the industry is unquestionable, and we can only expect to see more innovative and exciting robots from the country in the future.

People believe that if robots do all the work, all the humans will be happy with free time, this story tells why not:
"And a Man sat alone, drenched deep in sadness. And all the animals drew near to him and said, "We do not like to see you so sad. Ask us for whatever you wish and you shall have it." The Man said, "I want to have good sight." The vulture replied, "You shall have mine." The Man said, "I want to be strong." The jaguar said, "You shall be strong like me." Then the Man said, "I long to know the secrets of the earth." The serpent replied, "I will show them to you." And so it went with all the animals. And when the Man had all the gifts that they could give, he left. Then the owl said to the other animals, "Now the Man knows much, he'll be able to do many things. Suddenly I am afraid." The deer said, "The Man has all that he needs. Now his sadness will stop." But the owl replied, "No. I saw a hole in the Man, deep like a hunger he will never fill. It is what makes him sad and what makes him want. He will go on taking and taking, until one day the World will say, 'I am no more and I have nothing left to give.'"

China still can't even print 20 year outdated microprocessors.. it took them 5 years to be able to make their own ballpoint pen tips. that was with much pressure from their leader.. this is actually more recent than you would believe.. All those made in China pens had made in Germany tips on them. this video is showcasing how China is great at ripping off other countries and companies. I see poor quality knockoffs of Boston Dynamics works.. the hyper realistic stuff is of course amazing but when you see the real designs that they are trying to copy.. well China sure has a lot of catching up to do. they still think the old using force to make the people produce is the way just like Hitler thought.. meanwhile the people there have the "let it rot" movement going on. I can understand why.. imagine if you lived in a place like North Korea.. their brains are so reduced by aspects such as lack of rest, nutrition, not to mention that chronic stress reduces circulation to the front of the brain. they have to get down and dirty to get the hell out of there.

I think there is an underlying motive why China invest so much in robot technology - China and other Asian countries are reaching a population crisis with seniors aging out of the work force and millenials not dating, getting married and having children despite pleas and incentives from the government. With a decreased work force, who will do the work in such a large country? Who will take care of the senior citizens? Robots and AI. They can't do everything now, but every year brings critical advancements that in ten years who knows?

It seems China recognized what was going on with the decreasing population the past decade. Their sudden move to capitalism during the 90's enabled a middle class to rise and enjoy the trappings of a comfortable living for once. But it came at a price, work hard with long hours. Both men and women. That comes with a sacrifice I'm guessing and they didn't want to lose that comfortable life. Children aren't in the equation? As an electrical engineer and someone that did some AI research I can assure you that at least for now this is just hollywood. Even in the future it's very unlikely that robots and AI will be able to take over humanity like in matrix or terminator. Particularly, it's impossible for machines to be truly intelligent like the humans, due to hardwire limitations (what we call AI are actually just mathematical functions fitted to data). Machines use mostly sequential processing, while the human brain is massively paralelized, and this and other factors make the human brain much more capable than any machine we can build. Plus, machines only do what we design them to do, and are easly controlled and deactivated.

During the first Cold War, the USSR and the US struggled to preserve and value their political differences and different ways of structuring their economies and labor relations. The main feature of the new Cold War is the insane effort by China and the US to become more and more technologically alike. The two countries invest oceans of money to stimulate the production of microchips and robots, as well as the development of AI. China and the US have the same ambition to use all this for military purposes, but the Americans spend a lot more money on the military. The USSR collapsed because its economy was unable to bear the cost of the military structure it created. China does not want to make that mistake. The US appears to be doomed to sink or implode under the weight of its military spending.

No. The CEO of ASML once replied in an interview: "The chips used in the military are all technologies from 10 years ago, because the first consideration for military purposes is stability and reliability." The current chip war between the United States and China is caused by large companies (such as TSMC) paying staggering amounts of lobbying fees to American politicians.

I will be glad to train those robots to go into the classroom and survive. Since we all know that at some point if schools stay face-to-face, you will need robot teachers since very few people are going into teaching and those in the classrooms are leaving in record numbers.

People with nothing to do will self-destruct, we see it everywhere, bored people looking to make things more interesting for themselves and to validate their existence. I'm aware of a toy from over 10 years ago that replicated human movements flawlessly in terms of both speed and agility. Although it started as a toy, a programmer modified it to respond to sensors on a device that detected human movements. This allowed it to imitate human movement perfectly, even while dancing, to the extent that it no longer resembled a mere toy robot, but instead, it resembled a miniature human wearing a robotic outfit.*

Think about how close we are. These robots. That can walk, have facial expressions. Are basically human lik bodies. With GPT 4 or 5 as its mind. It's literally on the corner. Stronger, immortal, smarter than humans. They are our successor.

When you think about it, Humans are no difference from robots, we are being controlled through sound frequency and vibration, we've been program ever since birth, thats why we have to take classes, learn how to communicate, learning letters, learning words and so on. People need to wake up to kill this A.I future is to kill your STRAWMAN.
