  • In 2020 my TEDx talk got lost in the craziness of the pandemic. But I got a copy of it so I could share it with you. I've spent my career helping people Transcend Survival Consciousness and ascending into peace of mind and productive action.
    Transcending Survival Consciousness is a journey of self-discovery and transformation. I present simple steps that will help you to move beyond the limited perspectives and behaviors of survival consciousness, which are driven by fear and lack.
    This TEDx talk also explores how we can be more successful while staying true to our values and principles. You'll learn to live with authenticity, purpose, and joy.

    The concept of the drunk monkey has helped me so much over the last 10 years.
    Being able to recognise that your negative self talk is trying to protect you from a danger that's isn't there has been of such benefit to my emotional and mental health. Thanks Matthew.

    I have been doing a similar thing for a long time. In the bible its called the peace that passeths all understanding. It comes from faith and belief in what Christ did and is offering⁶ out of love, the type of love no one else on earth has ever given. The big difference is that I don't go mind blank, instead I dwell upon His life and through reading His word...the meaning comes alive to me exactly the way I need it to at the time I need it to. I hear it and sense it through holy spirit connection. I could die today. I could lose loved ones and all is well. Peace

    Yes! I knew that! When you practice acceptance you don't practice resistance, your frequency raises, you're happier, just be in the now. Don't speculate, don't judge, don't worry!
    Same message as Echart Tolle and Abraham conveys.

    Very nice. :) I've been trying to figure out how to say this for years. Because I see what you see, a more conscious civilization that rises above our "lower" nature. (Maslow talked about Self-Transcendence in his book, The Farther Reaches of Human Nature.)
    But what I talk about isn't just the way it's supposed to be, but WHY it's been the way it's been... and WHY we're not already going this way.
    I have a feeling that once people realize WHY we're going to wrong way, it'll be easier to show everyone a better way.

      It's great to hear that we are aligned. Over the years I have found that some of us just are the new way and some of just aren't. I have dedicated my life to those this makes sense to :-)

    If we have free will why will those in heaven never sin again? I think bc we have witnessed and experienced such evil and hardships on earth that comes from hate, anger and jealousy that we will never want it again.

    • @MatthewFerry
      @MatthewFerry  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      When you recontextualize hate, anger and jealousy as valuable survival traits they become more neutral which allows you to forgive yourself and others.

    • @dianarockwell6256
      @dianarockwell6256 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The free will was given to those who reincarnate on earth, and live in the 3-D world for a time. It is not a spiritual based concept. It is an on earth based concept.

    Where does contentment come in here? Andrew Weil makes the point that contentment is more of a steadily achievable state where happiness is a peak experience. Does not mean happiness doesn't happen, it's not a state that disappoints when it is not constant, causing unachievable peaks.

    • @MatthewFerry
      @MatthewFerry  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I like that. With my students I would use the word "neutrality" to describe contentment. It is an expression of "knowing that all is well" which is a contextual framework not a circumstance.
