0/10 "Game didn't give me a dopamine boost playing it braindead, dropping it 5 hours in because it's too hard and i hate feeling powerless because i must always win" - Every Game Journalist
Kinda reflects the seemingly endless struggle of humanity. We struggle in hopes to "ascend", to receive a reward that surpasses the previous problems and suffering we faced. When there is no struggle and no higher goal, life loses meaning and becomes empty. Those who seem to have everything never feel satisfied because if they accept that there is nothing else they need or can achieve for themselves, then there's nothing else to reach for. The emptiness inside them becomes overwhelming. Once all basic needs are fulfilled, humans have an innate need to feel that they have something they are achieving or need to achieve. They need purpose. In that sense, every human being has their own path to ascend. So kudos to the Rain World team for making such a great game with profound meaning!
Stuffed Wombat made a similar video like you but later. He got a little bit poetic about this whole "the game is actually about us playing a video game and leaving it behind" which fits I guess? The game itself is poetic too. However, I think you nailed it even better when you used the concise X→~X explanation.
Great video :) One detail I like is how 5P escalates his attempts to communicate with Slugcat starting with speech, text, larger flashing text and finally showing a diagram.
I've been looking for a really good video on this game that shows some really deep understanding of how profound it really is. This is that video. Great job man
what an amazing analysis of the story that you are actually playing through! its rare to see a video that doesnt focus soley on lore (however great the lore is), 10/10 slugcats
This game is an art. And in programming way it is very interesting - procedural visuals, music and AI give it so unique charm and much fun. Great game explaining by the way
its much like the Hindu(I think) beleive that ascension ends a brutal cycle of death and rebirth, of ending human existence, and reaching a higher plane, devoid of the sufferings and material trappings in life.
What a masterpiece of a game, I'm new to it but literally everything about it is incredible and mindblowing, it feels just like how I felt with Undertale back in 2015 Seriously these games are incredibly unique and special, a marvel to behold!
i like how downpour is largely the opposite message to this as well. it focuses on the iterators, and their story of being unable to ascend by their nature, not to mention of the 5 new slugcats, only 2 can ascend. 1 ascension is substantially worse than its other ending, and the other is outright denied that privilege outright. showing that while escaping the world may be desirable, there is also so much already there to enjoy that escape is not truly the only option
This is a great analysis of the story of rain world. I'm wondering are you planning to talk about the new dlc of Rain World in my opinion the dlc is absolutely incredible.
great video!! unfortunately i can’t finish it bc i still haven’t finished the game and don’t wanna spoil myself :’) i promise to come back when i finish it

In the ign reveiw the game reveiwer walks into a green lizards mouth while complaining about how hard the game is.
As many other have said, I can't believe you only have 500 subscribers. This deserves thousands at least!!

This is a really good video. I'm honestly shocked that you don't have more subscribers because you definitely deserve them
