I think he was referring to american audiences... I mean BBC America is not an anonymous channel but it is not network-level in terms of viewership... American like guys who have been around for some time... Gervais for example was known because his show had been remade into an american one and started doing Stand-up in the US and play in american films... Celebrities may know him but the American public is not so familiar with him... He's not part of the whole Louis CK-Ellen-Kimmel-Oprah-Colbert-Fallon-SNL-Chris Rock gang which basically trusts these awards ceremonies... And a crucial part of the success of the Oscars also comes from familiarity and a sense of belonging that is communicated from the whole Kodak room (Host and celebrities from the audience) to the public... Don't get me wrong, I would love to see Graham Norton hosting the Oscars, but it's just very unlikely given the history of this ceremony
Charlie's accent is the most confusing, trans-Atlantic thing ever, on a guy with a different face, it would get on my nerves, but it's Charlie sooo... 😍😍😍
I don't know how it's confusing. He's spent a lot of time i the US and now his accent has become a bit Americanised. My accent is mostly Canadian with a bit of English.
Fatemah Jafar Or how about because you know why his accent is that way and he's not faking it it shouldn't get on your nerves. Why would somebody's natural accent bother you? That's so narrow minded.
I know your question is 4 years old, but I just stumbled into this clip today. Charlie recently did a video for Vanity Fair going through old clips and he said that because he's lived in the States for so long that he needed to hire a speech coach for King Arthur to get his British Accent back. Have a great if you already saw the clip lol.
@@calvinkretz4877 I came back to watch this to check out his accent after watching the vanity fair interview, I was pretty sure his accent was a bit more on the North East side in this than it is now. I used to visit family in Birmingham and after a week I'd end up sounding like I lived there so it's hardly surprising that being surrounded by it and acting with it he's ended up with a weird accent 🤣
It’s funny listening to Charlie talk, you can tell he is losing accent from all the American films he’s done and living in the USA his accent is some what mixed now lol
how come i missed this guy charlie hunnam? i mean, i had no idea he's still in the acting world until the king arthur movie. i live in tokyo and his earlier movies were never shown here, until this king arthur. but even then, the movie was not promoted very well and i almost missed it.
Guy Richie # king Arthur..... My top list Travis fimmel, Charlie hunnam & Channing tanum look like triplet 😅 When you see all the 3 in one frame # u feel siblings vibe😍🥰
Charlie for any role but that goatee and his charming personality…he’d be great in Gunn’s DCU as The Green Arrow. Most don’t know, but Oliver Queen is a billionaire like Batman…hence the nothing gets me down aura. Perfect.
Charlie just seems like such a nice guy
CaptainGrumpy You should watch Hooligans, Lapus. Not that nice
he's fantastic and is in it for the right reasons, not for fame.
Renogade same goes to Sons Of Anarchy AHEUSUEUEU
He is cocky and handsome; that is how he got picked up into acting.
@@Renogade its actully called green street holligans and that is only a film, a fictional character he played. your comment is pathetic
We want graham to host Oscars.
hell yeah
nafe101 care to elaberate??
Hardly anyone knows him there.
Right after Ricky Gervais

His story about getting discovered is so charming it could have come off as cocky but he pulls it off
Charlie is so charismatic. Love watching his interviews!
Graham is such a good host, he's always hilarious!
I never watched anything with Charlie, but interviews, and he seems sooo nice and cute and just CHARMING!
I still can't believe that this guy played Jackson Teller in Sons of Anarchy with a perfect American accent..
Charlie Hunnam for the next James Bond!!!
OMG YESSSSSS
P.S.Drew yes!
OMG THAT’S A BRILLIANT IDEA
Keep em blonde!
No. He sounds American.
Gotta say, puberty does wonders, even though he started off with a good base
I'm in love with Charlie 😍
He has smashed it. Back when I was In School was a great show.
SONS FOREVER
This must be the first Newcastle American accent I've ever heard! I get why, he's lived in America for so long, but still strange to hear.
I love this format. I wish American shows would do this.
charlie is a cutie
Charlie's accent is the most confusing, trans-Atlantic thing ever, on a guy with a different face, it would get on my nerves, but it's Charlie sooo... 😍😍😍

He was on Son's of Anarchy as their lead for 7 years. He's soooo I agree
his accent sounds fine to me. It will change a bit, he's been in the US for years !!!!
Fatemah Jafar Or how about because you know why his accent is that way and he's not faking it it shouldn't get on your nerves. Why would somebody's natural accent bother you? That's so narrow minded.
@@joycegibbs5267 Ur clearly not a geordie
His accent now is so different from the clip they ran on the show. Extremely different. Wonder if he can even sound like this again if he tries

Listen to him in the Gentlemen. Thats pretty much how hed sound without trying to annunciate and speak clearly

"Don't worry mate, I'll soon sort you out." I bet you will. 😜
LOL Young Charlie Hunnam looks like young Travis Fimmel!
Hua Mulan yes! HAUESUEU
And as I usually say, Sons Of Anarchy is Vikings from another era. HAEUSHSHDU
By god, you're right.
KING RAGNAR!
Hua Mulan they do really look alike omg
crazy thing is both have the same age 37
Exactly..... Viking vibe
GRAHAM WE LOVE U!
He played his American accent perfect
I too, think he's quite lovely!
King Arthur was awesome!!! I loved the movie.
I need this full episode plz!
seems like charlie lost a bit of his accent?
Syahril Jamm a LOT of it. He has sounded more American for years.
i wish hugh laurie had a more american accent and lost more of the english one too, lol
Why does he sound like someone pretending to have a British accent... I know he's from Newcastle but he sounds weird.
Search "Green Street Charlie Hunnam Accent" - very funny.
Christopher Clarke ..the north east accent is the sexiest accent ever and the oldest accent in UK.
Blueglass no he didn't! he's as English as they come..
Christopher Clarke he did sons of Anarchy for over 7 years the accent changed a lot. And he's lived in the states a while.
thanks to Sons of Anarchy!

He'll always be Nathan when I hear him.
Billie Piper was in Penny Dreadful right?
Gautham Ramesh yep
and Doctor Who
Have Paloma Faith and Billie Piper ever been seen in the same room?
eldospinks Thought it might have been Paloma Faith at first myself.
A delicious smorgasbord of accents and charm
Now I want to see present Charlie in a pony tail lol
Guy Richie # king Arthur..... My top list
Travis fimmel, Charlie hunnam & Channing tanum look like triplet 😅
When you see all the 3 in one frame
# u feel siblings vibe😍🥰
I was todays years old after watching 6 seasons of SOA when I found out Charlie Hunnam is actually British 😭
Thanks!
My favorite with him is 321 Frankie GO Boom, lol! 😂😂😂
Always thought he was American and his voice that he does for Jax in Sons of Anarchy was his normal voice
What about Undeclared?
Charlie for any role but that goatee and his charming personality…he’d be great in Gunn’s DCU as The Green Arrow. Most don’t know, but Oliver Queen is a billionaire like Batman…hence the nothing gets me down aura. Perfect.
Charlie Hunnam, the Geordie-boy who chinned a Kaiju!
Billie Piper looks soooo different these days!
Seventy8 Her face is too shiny.
Never knew he was a geordie like
Your Great Graham TYVM
man Charlie is hansom!!
What's the bet after Daniel Craig, Charlie is the next Bond.
Still can't believe he was in undeclared
I never knew he was british, only ever seen him in Sons of Anarchy
flogadob watch him in green street
Are we seriously still talking about Charlie's accent?
Can't get over how much Guy Ritchie looks and talks like Jamie Oliver.
Yeah, they both try to do that cockney geezer thing, the mockney.
Undeclared !
It was indeed😂Listen, if you come on Graham Norton not prepared for some potential mild humiliation, you only have yourself to blame
charlie humman looks like green arrow
I can't tell what he is saying in the last line of that acting video.
I had no idea he was English! And I'm English! LOL.
May my glo up be as good as his .
it be good to see the movie
Badass king arthur movie guys badass fight in the end!
His Geordie accent is completely gone
He is the Green Arrow we deserve.
I love Billie Piper and I really hope her friends stage an intervention and force her to lose the ... the....hairdo ? that is occupying her head .
woow his accent changed dramatically
HOW IS HER SKIN LIKE THAT?! its not real! gorgeous billie!
Guy Richie just looks like Graham 😂👍
can someone please tell me who the woman is?
Billie Piper, I think she's most well known for playing Rose in Doctor Who
She doesn't look anything like Rose!
Well, it is her. She's changed her hair quite a lot. And it's been a few years, I suppose.
Mickie James
She was also in the series Penny Dreadful, as the Bride of Frankenstein.
Jack Whitehall has really let himself go
it's northumberLAND street not northumbria street charlie x
вы такие смешные АХАХАХАХАХАХАХАХАХАХАХАХАХХАХАХАХАХАХАХАХАХАХАХАХАХАХАХАХАХАХАХАХАХАХАХАХ
Charlie's accent isn't a posh one. Good.
Except it is
@@ItsThatVogue Geordies aren't posh lol
That should be "NORTHUMBERLAND STREET" Charlie...NOT Northumbria Street!! 😉😉😉🤣🤣
Finger buffet upstairs, whaaaaaaaaaat?
I've never heard of that kind of sandwich and I never want to eat one. Where is the sustenance (meat because I'm ignorant)?
What is going on with Charlie's accent he's Geordie, but he sounds bloody welsh??!!
It's Northumberland Street not Northumbria Street
He kind of looks like Channing Tatum
am i the only one who thinks charlie looks like Channing tatum?
He still has the same acting talent .
Thomas Thas unpopular opinion
How'd he hide his accent so well
are they sitting from the smalest to the biggest?😂😂
Did anyone else think Billie Piper was Paloma Faith at first glance ?
‘Northumbria Street’?
Jax 😍
look good and cash the cheques
Should of played a greenstreet video
Charlie is soooooooooooooo hot
so cringy but i still couldn't look away because it's charlie like come on:)
I see Guy has been spending some of Madonna's money on Botox and brow lifts.
Charlie looks like Lee Evans
I think his accent is confusing because it’s a mix of Geordie, faux Cockney and middle America
Charlie sounds WEIRD without his American accent......
“You were sexy when you were young Charlie”…. Is not the compliment he thinks it is….
Guy Ritchie always looks agitated to be on talk shows.
WHP ORDERED THE COLOURS.?
[BEHIND THE SET TEAM.] LIST OF NAMES. MUP THE NORTON FOOL UNTIL THE LIST IS COMPLETED. YOU HAVE TWO HOURS. NOW. 11.39GO
Could've this guy played King Ragnar also? :S
MrIlleism naa not the same guy but they do look similar, ragnar is travis fimmel
Charlie looks very different here or is it just me?🤔
Welsh, Geordie and Californian
Guy Ritchie does not seem to engage much with the guests...
Wait, so he's really an actor? I thought they put him in things for the tax right off.
Charlie doesnt sound geordie :(
I understand nothing.
what a weird accent he has haha
