    Thank you, but you didn't mention the circle just to the bottom right of the speedometer. It's the one with the red dot in the center and the white dote beside it. If you know what it is please could you tell me. That's they reason I'm watching your video to begin with. :)

      Heh I totally missed that. To be frank I never even noticed it before your comment. I had to go look at some other people's videos of flight to try and figure it out. Which didn't help much either till I fired up the game real quick. I'm not really sure how to explain it clearly yet. But it's an indicator of your directional movement. If you start moving forward and go decoupled then aim slightly off axis so you're traveling at an angle of sorts. You'll notice in the middle of your hud (ish) you get a weird >< looking icon. That identifies your movement trajectory. If you do a 180 flip you'll see an opposite (I might have them backwards) showing your exact opposite path. That little circle is another indicator. If you're on a flat horizontal path that white dot is actually 2 on top of each other. And you have a red section of the circle indicating the "forward" movement direction. If you have a slightly off axis movement as well, like vertical, then you get another white dot that moves around to identify the direction. That was a long winded way of saying that it's an indicator for your movement trajectory.

      It’s your velocity vector represented on a 3D sphere, the farther the white dot from the center the higher your velocity, the location of the white dot shows the direction of your velocity, the red dotted lines help you determine where the white dot is at in relation to the center.

    Nice video and even though I've been a backer a long time I didn't know about being able to change weapon groups much less doing so through the MFDs! I also didn't know you could toggle the boost indication bar but the default setup for it has been fine for me so far. I do think a short, 1-2 sentence summary of what decoupled mode is would have been a helpful addition for those who might not know while still referencing to a deeper dive into the subject in another of your videos.

    I’m so happy to find this! Of course, I’m only a minute into it and now I have to go look up what “gimbaled mode” is, lol.

    Me too because I can't remember exactly what I was taking about; except maybe the "Lock" on doors and ramps.

    04:38 you might want to edit the video and add in a caption what the keybind is for toggling the STGR setting. You mentioned all the keys for each one except the STGR. Awesome video by the way.. helped me out tremendously. Question, how does one do "Full power to shields" . A youtuber kept saying that when he parked his ship.. and said we should all do that but I have no idea what the key it is to puts all power automatically to shields. Is it a F key? I think theres F keys for full power to Weapons and Thrusters or soemthing.. but not shields iirc.

    • @JonathanOstrus
      @JonathanOstrus  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah there's F keys to control the power triangle. F5-F8 to control weapons, thrusters, shields, and reset neutral. Tap to shift in increments or hold for a second to shift full.

      Heh yeah. They've implemented a new player "tutorial" or something but it's still vastly inferior to any videos.

      @@kratosgamerization4907 Server crashes are going to be something you just get used to and deal with while it's in Alpha, and likely Beta whenever that happens.
      Deliveries, Bunkers, and Bounties are probably the best "entry level" thing to do. They have the least risk/time involvement at the moment. The devs were discussing possible changes coming up (probably much later) regarding the ship components swapping which might make bounties a little more risky in the sense that if the ship is destroyed you won't get back non-stock components. But as of now that's not the case.
      Deliveries can be fairly profitable albeit boring after a while. They have the fastest rank up for cash. My personal Go-to is space bounties. It's generally faster get in and out action. But sometimes the bunkers and caves can be fun for a change of scenery. If you have a cargo hauling ship then commodity trading can work but I find that insanely risky as you have to spend money up front, transport the goods, then sell. There's just too many variables that can ruin your day there. Player PvP, server crash, power/internet outage, ship crash for whatever reason, glitch out of ship while in quantum, just to name a few.
      The "help defend" type Mercenary missions in bunkers are pretty easy. You can go in with just the basic flight suit to get started. Though if you can, I would suggest taking a gun to start out. It takes a while of repeating them to rank up, but at rank 3 you start getting multi wave defends for a decent chunk of money. If FPS isn't your thing, then you might want to stay away from those. I have a demonstration here th-cam.com/video/7YP2e7oDx9I/w-d-xo.html
      There's also the new salvage missions. I haven't tried them but from what I've seen by others it can be semi risky. You pay for info of where a salvage area is. Then you have to go there, salvage, and then sell your spoils. But during the salvage process NPCs show up to attack if you're not in and out fast enough. Which isn't too bad as they seem easy targets. But if you're not in a good combat capable ship then it's not great unless you got friends who are. It's also possible that multiple players receive the same mission target so you could have a PvP fight on your hands over the spoils.
      General random find salvage and mining is "easy" but also higher time/reward risk. Salvage might be ok if you take a vulture into random asteroid areas and come across the RNG spawns. But asteroid mining in a Prospector or Mole isn't super worth it right now. You may spend a decent chunk of time locating and breaking apart rocks that have good materials. Whereas for the same amount of time to locate, break, collect, transport to refinery; someone could typically do 2 or 3 3-box deliveries, or a handful of bounties/bunkers.

      @@JonathanOstrus I know I know... the whole server crashing thing is just somethign thats kinda just meh XD so right now im just doing deliveries and MAYBE the rare Retreivial OP if im feeling lucky... Maybe I should look into scraping or something cause I dont think I will ever be really good at the gunplay on here so I think its best I just figure just being a Average Joe Trucker XD

      @JonathanOstrus  ปีที่แล้ว

      TroyOnline asked me that right after I first posted the video. The TL;DR is that its an inertia indicator. I pinned Troy's comment with my reply so it should be easy to find to read a bit more detail.
