    Thank you so much, I do have a student question, can I use the parabolic 88 with my favorite flashlight AD400pro? Thanks for your help

    • @hypop
      @hypop  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you can! The AD400Pro comes with a detachable Bowens ring so will be compatible with the QR-P70

    Friend, the new QR-PT has been released, would you recommend them for gastronomic photography?

    • @hypop
      @hypop  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, the new QR-PT series are more compact versions of the older QR-P series. We'd recommend them for food photography, especially if you're shooting on-location a lot.

    Hello, is there any specific way to disassemble the 70x100 softbox? It is impossible to disassemble it, thanks in advance for the answer

    • @hypop
      @hypop  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's just a matter of using sheer force to bend the rods out from the softbox end (not speedring end). The rods are flexible so don't be afraid to use a bit of force.

    Cant decide between AD s85s and qr 90 and jine beautybox 85s.. Any suggestions?

    • @hypop
      @hypop  ปีที่แล้ว

      We're unfamiliar with the Beautybox 85s but in terms of the AD-S85 vs QR-P90 a major deciding factor will be what light you'll be using it with. The AD-S85S uses a Godox mount which only works with select Godox lights whereas the QR-P90 is a Bowens mount which is a more common style of mount.
      The AD-S85S will be the best option if you do have a light with a Godox mount and if you want to prioritise portability as its packed size makes it easier to carry around.
      The QR-P90 would be a better option for longevity as it works with any Bowens mount light and its mechanism is quite durable compared to light modifiers with umbrella styled set up.
      Hope this helps!

    I am now confused which softbox is for which? Like which is for Video softbox and flash softbox?

    • @hypop
      @hypop  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They work for both photography flash strobes or continuous lights that feature a Bowens mount. Just double check the mount on your light is Bowens. From there it depends on how you would like to modify the light. Popular shapes are octagon or parabolic softboxes for a nice even and wide throw of light.

    Anyone here have experience with the v1 paired with this softbox? If so, was the flash powerful to fill the qr-p70 ?

    • @hypop
      @hypop  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Dave, the V1 is still well powered in comparison to some continuous lights that mesh well with this softbox such as the Godox SL60.
      You should still be able to achieve great results with the V1 + QR-P70 for things such as food/product/half body portrait photography. A consideration is that you may need to play around with light positioning and distance from your subject. It may not be enough for larger subjects like full body shots though.

    That fabric seems wonky. I just picked this up and Im a bit upset that I can't close the back without at least one gap. It's like they didn't put enough fabric? I can most of them closed but on the last one its so tight a few more pop open. Do I just need to be more forceful? LOL

    Is this the Glow models for Godox now?
    My biggest complaint is lack of quality assurance. Something is always wrong when I order and then the company never is available. I stopped buying the brand from overseas.
    The construction of this one looks cheap and not well made. Lots of wrinkles and ripples in the fabric which affects light output. I would be curious if you would perform a output test and see the differences if any.
    The inner or outer Diffuser where missing on my two 90PL boxes. The problem was also some where velcro and others where hooks so they are made differently.
    I just shop Adorama instead. Flashpoint or Glow brands

    • @hypop
      @hypop  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Similar to the Glow models, yes. In terms of quality for the price you pay you can't look past this new QR range or most Godox products for that matter. I know that here in Australia, the QR-P70 retails at $145 but the Glow EZ lock series starts at about $180 for the smaller size. The metal rods are a nice change, the material seems high quality and when left setup in a studio environment the wrinkles and ripples in the fabric tend to go away. An output test is an interesting idea and we may do this in the future. Thanks for watching!

    Maybe in a studio, but for me, impractical/never for on-location work. Why? Form factor: it's heavier, bulky, and takes longer to set up/use. For portability, I'll go with umbrella style soft-boxes, sometimes gridded, etc. My only (big) parabolic light is a rental I occasionally use: 84" Silver. The kind where welder's eye shields are recommended.

    • @ChrisBoland
      @ChrisBoland 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Can you recommend a good umbrella style softbox? I want something very light and easy to setup.

    • @hypop
      @hypop  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I tend to agree here. Umbrella modifiers are much easier to setup and use on-location, so long as your light supports it. Some battery operated flash units are too large or the stem of the umbrella are too short. The newer Godox UB range of softboxes (UB-130S, UB-160W etc..) are great in terms of size, affordability and portability.

    Should I be taking off the diffusers while breaking it down?

    • @JoaquimGonsalves
      @JoaquimGonsalves ปีที่แล้ว

      You can keep the external diffuser on to reduce downtime, but in most cases, it is likely that you may have to remove the inner diffuser during break-down. This is due to the way those are attached.

    • @cameron.on.canvas
      @cameron.on.canvas 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      AD600pro has a Bowens mount so yes, this will work with that.

  • @jaym5938
    @jaym5938 ปีที่แล้ว

    There needs to be a Bowens > Godox mount adapter. Not understanding this QR-P70/P90.. The 'insert' is smaller than 6" so it's a one-off and impractical. Godox seems all over the place with their products. I don't support Godox for just making money, I support companies that consider its customers. Godox has left the building on customer support, customer needs and appreciation.
