    I love Godox products! I have 10 of them in total now.
    Flash: AD200 Pro, V860III, MS300
    Trigger: X2T-fuji, Xpro-Sony
    Modifier: UB-85W umbrella softbox, UE 80cm Octagon softbox, QR-P120 parabolic softbox
    Continuous LED: SL-60 and 2x TL-30
    Great value for the money. I know it is not as good as Profoto, Aperture and other big names out there. But it is a really good entry point for us photographer to get into the game. It creates a decent enough light that most regular clients will not notice a difference. While learning and making money, you can invest into those Pro gear later that can suit the commercial needs.

      Hi Tommy. Mind if I ask you a question or 2?
      1. What is your take on one getting the ms300 and using it as their only light?
      2. If one was looking to get 1 versatile softbox, which would you recommend?
      I'm starting out with studio photography and looking for an easy entry.

    I saw that the fibre are light weight but didn't last long ! Broke too easily in SB-UBW-80cm broke rods in 3 months , can we reapir them ? As spending on equipments arent too much easy.

    why the umbrellas are sized in inch and the parabolic umbrella modifier in cm? Please use always both systems and keep the information which one exactly is used for the shown pictures in the corner of the screen

    I did a test, wondering if it was worth it to only use the bigger diffusion of their softboxes and remove the inner one to maximize light output.
    Results : not worth it
    Only two tenth of a stop gained at 1m, and a significant hotspot in the middle that is uncomfortable to look at.
    (tested on a Godow SZ200Bi + SB-GUE120)
    Btw in the naming I believe UE and GUE are the same only G come with the grid.

    I have a studio and usually use large octos with a collapsible speed ring. The octo folds flat like a taco and is easy to hang on my wall, extending only about 3 inches. To set up, unfold, and snap into place. EZ!

    After a week reading articles and watching video i finally found what i was looking for. I need to buy a softbox and i was thinking the P120H to use for outdoor photography within the Godox VL200 or VL300. Any suggestion? is the VL200 enough or i will need the 300 version? Do you know the distance between the model and the softbox with such lights? Thank you, Christian

    • @hypop
      @hypop  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It really depends on the available lighting outside. If it's a bright day, continuous lighting may not have such an impact as compared to a flash. In lower light situations it should fair better. We'd definitely suggest to go with the stronger VL-300 if your budget allows, as you can never have enough light!

    Good overview. I would note however, that Godox strip boxes are quite useless. Very poor light distribution - at least half of the height is wasted, as the light is emitted almost entirely around the hotspot in the middle. I measured 4 stops lower light 10cm from the edge compared to the middle (120x30 cm box). You get absolutely no benefit of the large size - there is almost no light left when you reach the edges.
    I wish you would take a photo of the softboxes directly from the front, so we can see how evenly the light spreads. Typically here, the low end brands suffer a bit compared to the professionals.

    Hi there, thanks for the great video. I have gone with the SB-UE120 and mounted it on my SL-60W. Can you please recommend a stand for this combo? I have tried and failed to keep this steady with two light stands already, they were both bending forward under the weight of the light & big softbox and also the feet did not seem to support it very well and threatened to fall at any second so I started researching again but they all kind of look the same as those I have so... Any help appreciated, thanks in advance! 😊

    Do you reccomend FW soft box to light green screen? Does it work like kinoflow?

    • @hypop
      @hypop  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The FW softbox is the assemble version. If you're wanting to produce more of a strip light then look at the SB-FW-30120 or SB-FW-35160 which will be perfect to light a green screen. It all comes down to the shape the lighting modifier will offer you and how big your green screen is.

    Really informative video thanks for making the video. I have a question, I am thinking of buying softbox for my Godox SK-400 II light, so I am confused between 1. Rectangle Softbox (SB-FW) and 2. Parabolic Softbox (P90L, P90H, P120L, P120H). Mostly I will be shooting products and occasionally family members and kids. Which one should I consider for both usage. Thanks so much in advance for your help.

    • @hypop
      @hypop  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Using a Parabolic or Octagon softbox will be the most versatile, something like the SB-FW-120 or SB-FW-95 or perhaps the P90L.

    • @hypop
      @hypop  ปีที่แล้ว

      Depending on the type of products an Octagon softbox should cover most bases but if you're shooting longer objects such as bottles then a stripbox would be a better option.

    Hello Sir, thanks for the detailed explanation and sample shots. I have a question - I am a beginner photographer from India and I was asked by a fashion startup company to shoot their apparel with models/mannequins in the studio. Our budget is very limited and I am looking at Godox AD300 Pro with a 120 CM Octabox as my key light. I already have a Godox TT685 and a small softbox which I can use as a rim/hair light or as a secondary source to light up the background. Could you please suggest if the AD300Pro and 120 CM Octobox would be enough to light up head to toe shots? Please suggest.

    • @hypop
      @hypop  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi there, yes a 120cm Octabox should be suitable for head to toe with the AD300Pro. Ideally you would have two lights on either side of your model for even lighting. You would need to use the Godox S2 Bowens bracket to use with the AD300Pro if you're looking at a 120cm Octagon Softbox with Bowens softbox.

    • @hypop
      @hypop  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Rule of thumb is the larger the modifier the softer and wider the spread of light. So we tend to go for larger modifiers such as a 120cm Octagon softbox and 70x100 rectangle softbox (or larger).
