Otto, I seriously love seeing you grow. Your Chanel is the motivation to keep at it. I've been here since the start and love this WELL DESERVED explosion in subscribers. Keep bringing fantastic content!
🥲 thank you!!! I'm surprised about this growth but this has been possible because of you and all the subscribers that have been supporting me. Thank you so much!!
This is the first time I've used this style of softbox and it didn't come with instructions on how to expand. I thought I broke it. 😭 Thanks for the tutorial. 🙏 It worked perfectly!
Thanks! Not many video´s about the QR softboxes. Only thing that I would have liked to see is to see the softbox in action with photography ourdoors :D But that's something entirely different. Thumbs up :)
Hello Otto. Thank you for the review. I have one (QR-P90) I don't like the weakening inner soft layer and I don't like the unscrupulous installation of the grid section. Please try the amazing APUTURE softbox LIGHT DOME II and you will see the difference in each aspect...
You need to assemble the softbox first rods with the side covers. Then you have 2 options: mount the light in the light stand and then attach the softbox at the front of the light. The other option is to place the softbox on the floor facing down and attach the light. The move the whole thing to the light stand. Note: when you attach the light and softbox together you need to twist the softbox so it locks into position
Nice video and very well explained. The other day I received my first ever softbox - a Godox SB GUE--80 for my first ever light SL60W but unfortunately the centre column of the softbox broke the first time I tried to set it up. I am now thinking of replacing it with a P90L and can't afford the QR P90 L at the moment. Hope to get the replacement soon. Can you make some DIY lighting videos?
hello! I hope you can get a replacement soon. I don't really like those umbrella type softboxes for continuous light, they are better suited for strobes/flashes (but that's just my opinion). I'm not very creative making DIY kind of stuff, I tried making a very cheap light and I did make a video about it (one of my early videos a year ago) on how to setup a budget youtube studio. I have plans to make videos like that (except the DIY light) to help other creators with their channels
HI Otto, Thnax for ypur nice review. How much Watts would you recommend minimum for using this softbox 60W // 100W // 220W? As most lights are sizeable more is better, but also more expensive. I think 100 W would be a good compromise. What do you think?
Hello Otto 🙋🏽♀This is the first video I've watched on your channel and it was fantastic! Setting up is a big pain point for me so I'm really happy you addressed it at the start when discussing Neewer lights (I considered getting theirs before watching this!) This might be an odd question but do the rods on the Godox require a lot of pressure to pull them upwards? I injured my hand so I can't use a lot of force at the moment with my fingers. On a general note - I loved the pacing of your video and the way you delivered your message. Sometimes creators speak so fast and it's difficult to understand especially when you don't know the topic so well (like me!) - but you paced the video brilliantly and I felt like a friend was giving me advice :) I can't wait to watch more videos! Have a great day 🌻
Wow thank you so much for your kind feedback Juanita!! I’m glad that you found my video and explaining method useful! The rods on this softbox do not requiere a lot of pressure in my opinion, they bend easily into position.
The advantage of the parabolic shape is the capacity to focus the light by varying the position of the inward-facing strobe on the traveler rod. Is this parabolic light modifier set up with outward- or inward-facing light? Adjustable light position?
Hi Samuel! I stopped using octa softboxes for talking heads, so the QR P90 or maybe the regular P90 (no quick release) would be good choices in my opinion
Hello Stephen! the softbox has a bowens mount so basically it fits every light system that has one of those, except yours. You have to buy an adaptor because Godox chose to make the mount different on that ML60 (I guess to make it smaller? not sure, since almost every light from them has a regular bowens mount)
@@OttoJulian_ Thanks! I bought the ML60 several months ago but haven’t used it yet. At least I know now I can use the Godox softbox even if I need an adapter.
@@stephenfurlong8947 yes! I forgot the name of the adapter but it just converts from your ML60 to a regular bowens. I'll double check in a minute. If I don't get back to you it's because I am right
i have never used it before but i have one now and i accidentally got blood on the inner diffuser while assembling i want to clean it can someone please tell me how ? And thank you
I am using Triopo 65 and 90 (2 units) for its usability. Only thing is that those are octa. But this godox is hexadecagonal (16 rods) which will give more natural type of light source. I am awaiting the same in the local market. And will be definitely in my collection (90 cm 2 units).
Hi Otto, thank you for the great review. Can you insert Godox SL 100 D into this 90 cm softbox? It says the ring is 15 cm and you can get optional rings for some godox lights. Will I need to get an extra ring or will the Godox SL 100 D go into it as is? Thank you for your help!
hi, this softbox will fit perfectly with the SL100D, the outer ring is 15cm, but the mount itself is the standard bowens mount. Sorry about the confusion

Thanks for the video. How to change to Godox mount?
Most COB lights have a standard bowens mount. That’s what this softbox uses (it’s not a Godox mount)
Today I ordered a new Godox QR-P120 Softbox because of the same problem as you.
:) good! Thanks!
How has the size been for you' I'm on the fence between the 90 and 120

Yes 100W it's good. I'm using a 150W which covers some of my main needs
I would have liked to see comparison with off and on.
Hi Kapil. The one I use on my talking head is exactly the same. That should give you an idea of how it looks with the honeycomb grid

hi, this one is outward, you place the light or the strobe on the outside, so you can't adjust the position of the light. Hope this helps

Hey mate aswm vdo
Just a question - which should I buy godox 80cm octa softbox or this qr p90
For godox sl60 ( talking head vdo)
Hi Samuel! I stopped using octa softboxes for talking heads, so the QR P90 or maybe the regular P90 (no quick release) would be good choices in my opinion
I have a Godox ML60. It would have been helpful to know how easy it is to use with different Godox lights like mine but otherwise, helpful video.

Yes, absolutely

I'll try to, but nothing much to report. Still using it and everything is working fine
great clip Otto. just what i needed to see before i bought. super useful. i've also given you a follow over on twitter.
Awesome, thank you!
Would you need the Godox S2 Speedlite S-Type Bracket Bowens Mount, for Godox ML60?
yeah, the ML60 needs the S2 bracket to be able to support any bowens mount accessory
Good review ! May I know how many cm long is the soft box in store mode? And can it store without take off both inner and front layer diffuser ?
hi! 85cm x 17cm! and yes you can store it with both diffusers! Easy in easy out!

Yes it is

Blood!? Not sure about that
Es compatible con ad600 pro?
