    Because several lifestyle factors can affect your A1C #hemoglobin, you’ll want to work closely with your healthcare provider to determine what is causing your high A1C level. Here's an interesting study on the topic: bit.ly/3D9a4zl

    A1C is not a fasting blood glucose average. It measures the overall average over 2-3 months.

    I’m slightly anemic and my pasting glucose level is 108-119 but my A1C is 5.4 which is normal range, my Doctor said my anemic is the reason why my glucose level is high.

    Can an A1C be higher as you age. I am 62 and have a A1C of 5.7.

      From what I’ve learned , yes. A1C increases as we age even if we are relatively healthy. One reason being the body is less able to process glucose. That’s why lowering refined carbohydrate intake is recommended to older adults especially women that are premenopausal and menopausal by many professionals

      Hi Lisa, my iron is way over what it should be because I had been overdoing it on iron tablets to improve my hair loss issues. When I researched it I found out that high iron levels can lead to type 2 diabetes. So I'm definitely going to cut way back on the iron now. I'm thinking that my iron caused my higher AIC level/

    Yeah I went from a 6 a1c to a 8. Now I should say that before I was eating and drinking whatever I wanted. And it was a 6
    Now I’m on januvia and the pen 12 units. Barely eat. Barely drink because when I do it’s water and there’s no taste. So I don’t even want it. Feel like crap every day. And tada my sugar is going up and up!
    I truly don’t see anything about it what is good. I’m not gaining anything but higher sugar and I hate even going to restaurants. When people say hey let’s get food. I say ok and go home. It’s a waste of time to try to eat something good for me. I’m better off not to eat and just sleep off the hunger spell.
    Anyways that’s my life now. Sleeping and waiting

      Are you over weight? Could take like a year for levels to come down. especially if you are over weight with a fatty liver. took me 4 months and i wasn’t over weight

      @dennislewis7602 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      @@vincec727 no. I think I’m understanding it now. I was drinking diet drinks. Now I’ve switched over to water it’s been doing really good now.
