A Hitter’s Perspective on Spin Rates ⚾️🔥

Here is a basic understanding of spin rates from the hitter’s perspective!
As hitters, we anticipate where to place our barrel relative to where we feel/think the ball will be in the strike zone.
This piece can be helpful to think about when looking at training because spin rates are part of a pitchers tool kit to fool us and anticipate on the wrong plane! ✌🏻
It’s important to train that “anticipation” piece as a hitter because sometimes what we see isn’t what we get. We may have to intentionally swing a ball above or below and getting the reps is the only way to actually trust that decision in a game.
