  • Hey there! We're Scott and Angelika, a husband/wife team getting into real estate to accomplish our long-term retirement plan on our own terms. Welcome to our TH-cam channel!
We are currently living in Salt Lake City, Utah, we love to DIY, have 2 crazy dogs (Nellie & Rowdy), and are thrilled you are here!
Evenings, weekends and all spare moments are spent updating and working on our recent purchase. We bought a 100-year-old house in Salt Lake City that has not seen a major update since the 1960's.
In this video we tackle some antique door hardware, refinish the original cast iron sink, and spend quite a bit of time adding character to the master bedroom as a nod to the 1920's era from which the home was built.
Keep watching our journey, and we'll continue to share Vintage House renovation updates on the channel.
This video glitches and loses sound at 7:30 until 7:59, apologies for that!
1:35 - Getting set-up for the door hardware cleaning session
3:51 - Installing coffered ceiling in the master
4:55 - A look into the realities of doing millwork and carpentry. SO many calculations.
9:52 - The simple process I followed to get the original kitchen sink its shine back!
12:58 - It's the bathtub's turn for a fresh new interior coat of paint!
13:26 - A sneak peek into our next video ;-)

Does restoring a house to a vintage style boost it’s value or does it make it more attractive to certain buyers or both?

Restoration is mostly a labor of love and I think that there is a subset of homebuyers who will appreciate it more than the usual new construction look. But I can't say for sure that we aimed to please a certain kind of buyer. We just decided to what felt right to the home :)
