  • The Yoshino B4000 is a SOLID STATE lithium battery! Get one here: geni.us/yoshino
    It delivers 4kw of output from a 2611Wh battery, and with their solar panels you get a solar charging up to 600w. This is clearly going to steal some market share from the emerging solar generator market.

Thanks for bringing up this point, I think it is important when people are thinking about solar systems, grid tie in's, the grid using their power etc. Sometimes a stand alone system is best.

    Great review but that’s a stupid crazy price! I think I’ll stick with my Bluetti AC180 which can do 500 watts. Yeah it may be more sensitive to temps. But for the difference of paying 800.00 vs 3,000.00 I think I’ll stick with what I have. This may be a good option for someone who lives in a van or does off roading though. Be interesting to to see this compared to some Bluetti products. Most people want to be able to use these for their fridges and their AC or heat units. This does have some nice features though. Thanks for taking the time to review AND show and actual test!

    Interesting product, and the weight savings is very impressive. I have book marked their website and may try one of the smaller ones first. As a side note on your WiFi router, I have mine running on an EB3A ($209) which makes a great UPS, and it runs my WiFi router for about 12 hours by itself. I hope Yoshino adds AC bridging so that two could output 240 split phase. I'd by a set to run my 6KW well pump as no one else (EcoFlow or Bluetti) makes anything that weighs less than about 240 pounds, which can act as a UPS for big split phase loads. Thanks for the review!

Then I searched TH-cam to get reviews and your TH-cam video was second in line. I chose to watch yours first. My main concern for buying a power generator was for solar charging, weight, cost, quality. I also loved how this has more than enough inputs for all my present needs and future needs. Like LifePo, anode development took time to mature. Today, LifePo batteries are 300AH and are happy being charged with a continuous 90 Amps, and a Max Amp rating of 400 Amps.
    Not many Charge Controllers or BMS are capable for Amp Hungry batteries.
    Maybe, Anode development for Solid State batteries will improve to the level of the LifePo's.

    I have some EcoFlow & Bluetti units which I absolutely love. I have been looking to add a small portable power station to add to my family & was looking at a Jackery. I had previously only been considering Anker, Jackery, EcoFlow & Bluetti units but came across Yoshino which seems like one of the newer players in this segment.
    While functionality & performance are the most important thing the Yoshino industrial designers seem to be at the top of their game. Their units are really aesthetic & slick looking. Again, performance matters most of course & luckily it appears that the Yoshino units perform very well according to the reviews I’ve checked out.
    Anyway glad I stumbled across your channel. I’m delving into a lot of reviews before I make my choice. I was about to click “order” on a Jackery unit tonight before I stopped myself & decided to look at other units. I love Bluetti & EcoFlow but wanted to try another brand for a smaller portable power station so I’m choosing between Jackery & Yoshino. Haven’t decide but your review should help. Cheers!🙂👍

    All your reviews are great. That oversized curved bottom lip, combined with the close proximity to the outlet makes it hard to plug in GFI breaker style plugs or oversized plugs like Apple laptop brick plugs etc. Also how low they are, you have to overhang it off a table for oversized plugs but they don’t want to go all the way in with the lip. If the plugs were high up instead of along bottom it would solve that, or turned on their side in a vertical column. One has to use a short extension when using an oversized plug and that’s not ideal

  • @jasonbroom7147

    That's impressive performance, with cutting edge technology AND cutting edge price! Meaning, that unit will cut DEEP into your wallet! It's in a different category, in terms of capability and price, at that size. The inverter, in particular, is very impressive, for as small as that power station is, but I can only see this making sense for folks who demand the best possible performance in a really small form factor. The battery chemistry is certainly much safer than lithium-ion (NMC or NCA), but they would be hard-pressed to prove they are substantially safer than LiFePO4 or LMFP, which are far less expensive per watt-hour.

    Another solar generator that has okay solar input. For the life of me I can not understand why these companies focus on charging from the wall? I buy solar generators because I want to use SOLAR! The weight of this is insanely awesome! I do like the 4000 output needs more storage capacity to make that last especially with the lack of solar input it couldn't keep up. Realistically 2500 life cycles is more than enough life on a battery. 5-7 years from now this technology will advance so far that you will probably want something newer and more advanced. This is just constructive criticism because I want this to succeed. The weight of this is a huge step in the right direction they just need better solar input. In the real world you will not get 600 watts of input everything has to be perfect for that to happen. More input and better battery capacity and this thing would rock. The battery life is enough I do not see it as a downside.

  • @simon359

    Sorry, I’m confused? You’re hooked up to the grid, but if your power goes out you’re out of luck!
    Why not have a disconnect switch and server rack batteries instead of buying all these smaller systems?
    The first thing I did when I build built my system was make sure it was disconnected from the grid, and when my power goes out the only way I know is when I get a text from the power company stating so, otherwise I wouldn’t have a clue! This way I’m spending a lot less money than trying to have two different systems.
    If I still need more power, I can add more solar and batteries to my present system!

    • @TommyCallaway
      @TommyCallaway  ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Is it possible for you to change the solar array on your house from grid tied to also provide you with battery backup for the entire house? Those folding panels aren't going to last for long. You'll need to do periodic reviews of the solid state battery to show how durable it is.

    • @TommyCallaway
      @TommyCallaway  ปีที่แล้ว

      This device will not allow you to build a grid tied setup, and with a maximum solar input of 600w, I would recommend something else for that kind of setup. They are working on the expansion batteries which should increase the solar input of this system though. I will publish more videos when their product line expands. 👍🏻
