Thanks Hobotech for running all these test! I just purchased the E3600 with 4 solar panel package. It’s nice to see real honest run through of a product. 👍🏼
I received my E3600LFP today. I unboxed it. State of Charge was 65%. I plugged it into an AC outlet. It is charging between 12 and 20 watts when plugged into 120VAC. From the specifications it should do 1800W AC Charging with the 15A cable.

My main goal was to run my 2 led living room lamps, internet router, 55 inch TV, two air purifiers, Roku, one old style table fan and a charging station for laptops and telephones on the other side of the room. It shows that it’s pulling between 90 and 125 Watts all the time depending on what we are using. The goal was to have plenty of power left by Morning that the solar generator could completely recharge every day and it does this extremely easily even on cloudy days.

It was by email only and took almost a week to get a packing label only to find out I had to pay 100$ shipping and if they found it faulty they would reimburse. Just FYI. And the type C per l port only put out 65 not the 100 watt lie.
Pecron gifted two of these units to us to try out in trade for an honest review. We live off-grid and most of the power comes from our 6000 watts of solar panels. I paired the two Pecron's together to run our recently installed mini-split AC unit installed in our 24 ft camper trailer. When the compressor on the mini-split kicks on' it's drawing 700 watts and eventually drops down to 150 watts, the lowest number I have seen after running the mini-split all night is 68% power left. During the day the mini-split strictly runs off the solar panels. Haven't tried the 12 volt system in this unit, probably won't either. Our house batteries pretty much cover the rest of our power needs...

The price isn't terrible. Makes me wonder if investing in two of these with the combo connector to power the house, rather than a 8kw generator is a better move. It's just recharging them/maintaining a charge is the only concern. As opposed to keeping propane on hand.
I'm a real fan of batteries and solar but it's just a fact that even a small $350 generator produces 24000 kilowatt hours over the course of 24 hours for 5 gallons (or less). And $500, 4000w produces 96,000kwh for $30 worth of propane. So if you're going to be without power for a week after a natural disaster, there is no reasonably priced substitute for gasoline or patrol generator. However these batteries are excellent for the first night of a disaster when it may not be safe to set up a generator. 3 kilowatt hours is going to keep your refrigerator going about 12 to 20 hours but if you unplug for 2 hours out of every three then you're going to triple that duration. It's going to do a great job of providing you with lighting cable modem and a fan. And it can run a 5000 BTU window unit for about 7 hours. There is a place for having a battery and a generator. But in any serious outage, you still need a generator And remember to change the oil and check the air filter on it per the schedule. And of course don't leave gasoline in it. I prefer propane as you appear to prefer.

I believe that the issue with your machine is an isolated case. Last week, I finally received the two E3600LFP units I purchased, and I’ve been using them for the past few days without any problems. Now, I can’t wait to get the 240V box so I can set up a complete system! Looking forward to more tests of your 240V output!
Did you find a source for the Data Cable, or is it just an RJ45 Cat6 ethernet cable? Pecron doesn't identify the cable or offer it as an accessory. @HOBOTECH where did you get your cable?
Excellent presentation. Thank you. Pecron is really coming up with some nice units, with nice features and great pricing. Plus - they keep providing very solid 12v output options with high amperage and connectors. I just love the 12v output options on all of their units for car/truck/van camping. With the exception of the crappy 10a cig outlet, Jackery and Bluetti both have remove all 12v output options on all of their new units which makes them mostly worthless for me with van/truck/van camping.
Yeah, somethings shouldn't be "ENGINEERING SAMPLE" unless they tell you in advance so you can make this a "PREVIEW" instead of a "REVIEW". That's on them. Also, good on you for being honest since I'm sure they provided this 1600USD product for you, to review.
Excited to hear your review and see it this is worthy. I need a solor generator to run my camper but I need one that can power the AC unit for long times as I'm in a very rural area of southern Florida. Keep on truckin my man!
Your issue by having a preproduction model may not be fixed in the retail product. I had a similar problem with my e2000lfp and they’ve been making those for a long while!!
First of all I’ve had great customer support from Pecron using the chat function. I have a question for you all. Can the 30A dc outputs from the 3600 and from the expansion battery be hooked in parallel? It would be nice to have the 60 A dc for the RV.
I want to use that 30 amp d/c out, but I’m not familiar with XT60e-f I am using XT60 solar connectors that came with my 3600lfp, I’m loving them! Much better than my barrel plug on my Bluetti EB240! I’m expecting my EP3000 expansion battery by Tuesday. I saw that it comes with some connectors that use that d/c out. I’m disappointed that Pecron isn’t selling accessories for the 3600LFP on their website.
I hope I don't regret the decision to go with Pecron for my portable/emergency power. The EP3000 I purchased had to be returned because the solar charge controller stopped working. Pecron did fix it under warranty and it working fine at the moment. One word of caution, after 30 days the buyer is responsible for shipping even if the power station is still under warranty. The retail version of the 3600 LFP will be out soon so I hope they fixed the issue HOBOTECH experienced.
Must just be for the bigger or older units? my e300lfp blew its ac circuit after about 2 months or so. I sent a video of it not working and they sent me a new one.
@@LeoLiburon I was told that had the issue occurred within the first 30 days of purchase they would have sent me a new one but since I was outside the 30 day window I had to ship it back at my expense. They did repair it and then sent it back to me at their expense. My concern is that these units don't stand up over time to heavy use.
@rmclark339 I'm saying I had mine over 60 days, and they sent me a new one, so the difference might be the size, or it might be the cost, it is the smallest unit. We shall see iirc many like Bob ramblin run them 24/7 with near no issue. It's a dice everyone has to roll name brand or not. I will stick with them cause it was no hassle even when I did have an issue. If I get burned, then I will think about paying 2 or 3 times the price for another name.
Yes, this is true....we have been running our e2000lfp (full 8kw system) (24-7-365 since late 2022) and we have been running our e1500lfp (full 7.5kw system) (24-7-365 since late 2023) all documented on videos on the channel since the beginning :) We split the load for my workshop and they run it with 3,000 watts of solar panels :) note: every company has pos and negs. but we have been happy with what we bought and received from pecron so far. (We own almost their entire lineup now, from the e2000lfp forward, including the 500 watt car charger and we just ordered the e3600lfp last week) Once we max out the e3600lfp with 4 batteries very soon, we will run the entire shop on that 15,360wh system and put the e200lfp (8.000wh) in our rv :) P.S. I have no problem whipping out my pecron when I need it....Great, Thanks a lot hobotech, now you have me doing it as well.....LOL ^ That sounds so bad when I read this !!!!! HAHAHAHAHAA !!!!!
I only have a little Pecron...it's very portable though and goes everywhere with me. It's easy to charge up but full charge doesn't last very long (ask wife). Other downside is it's very temperature sensitive and almost non-existent for low temps
Really random thing I'd like to see when the display shows the battery voltage: voltage drop when at no load/50% inverter load/100% inverter load. Just curious to see if they are using good cells in there and don't have cheap materials with high resistance like brass connectors, brass bus bars, or undersized wire.
Hey, Bud. Nice to see you out there. Sorry I haven't been around to see your show all the time. I've got a couple of 1500 Jack Reese and I'm explaining this tea. Because I was running my fridge and back my pick up. And I plugged in the Jackie and that thing burnt my finger so bad it hurt. Anyways, I'm a member's spirit and a statue of forest figured it out. Ask you, thank you. I'm learning a lot from you. We showed have saved my money more.
IF you set up dedicated solar panels to recharge this, what would you use? Who's brand/wattage per panel. I'll guess multiple panels in series x 2 strings for the 2 main MPPT controllers.
Regarding the QA person who was fired: WHAT IF it worked during testing, and something got knocked around in shipping? We've all seen what rough handling can do, and sometimes the outside of the box doesn't show apparent damage. Pecron should at least test & evaluate the defective unit first, then fire away.
Cool to see you use the FD200 discharger since you have the 30A output. Definitely brought the time down. I've seen a few other Lipo dischargers come out recently (like SkyRC BD380 which is a slight step up from the BD350 but looks like it has more features)
They also need to focus on fixing their app. I have problems remotely controlling the E1500LFP while away from home. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't...
I noticed there was a temperature reading on the Pecron display showing up to 95 C during the battery capacity test(s). That's 203 F. Very hot. Perhaps the cooling fans weren't running at the right speed.
I had high hopes for this unit. Other youtubers gave it glowing reviews, but The Professor really breaks it down and tells us like it is. Gonna have to pass until/unless they address the problems.
I'm probably the only reviewer that was a FDA certified tester in a previous life. I also don't bend over for brand deals and reject over 99% of offers.
@@HOBOTECH Your integrity is an increasing rarity and a much welcome relief, especially in this economy. I thank you on behalf of all those on a fixed income who aren't tech savvy!
Thanks for the video and the coupon. Picked up one of these units and I've been happy. Had a question about what do use to be able to use the fully charged battery as a stand alone power source. After charging the battery using the E3600LFP generator, I want to use the battery to power some house hold items like a table top fan. I don't know what equipment that lets me do that.
Great review and a lot of work to present to us, thank you! With the DC circuit failure, understanding the problem with trying to replicate the test and failure with the second unit, It would be interesting to know if both units shipped to you failed, indicating a system issue, and if so, what did they find and repair to fix it. Pecron units used to have only a 110 volt AC output, which put me off, I am glad to see 120 V on this unit, but am concerned that under a hard load it drops down to 115. Again, thanks for the hard work, look forward to your next reviews.
@@HOBOTECH That's rather glib of you, especially since you don't provide any proof for your rash statement. At any rate, I hope you're wrong because I have two Dabbsson 1300's along with two expansion batteries that I use in UPS mode to support my wife's use of an oxygen concentrator. So far, all is going well. No joke!
Thank you very much. I've been wanting solid info on this. I have an e2000 with 2 batteries but the 30 Amp inverter would make a huuuge difference. I can put the e2000 innthe shop and be 100% off grid.
Another fantastic review, per your usual standards. My question concerns the solar charging rate. You said it would take about 2.5 hours to go from 0 to 100%, if you get the full 2,500 watts of possible input. I thought that was odd, since the battery is just under 3,100wh. I would expect this to charge in 1.5 hours, at most, unless there is something which slows the charging down substantially, as it completes topping off?
Hello, after hurricane Milton, I have been looking at solar generator. I'm considering purchasing a qty of 2 Pecron E3600LFP & 8 Pecron EP3000. Can this configuration hook up to a transfer switch to my home breaker box?
I love Pecron but the fact that they sneakily rushed out a beta unit to you is gonna make me think twice about going with them again when my 2000lfp eventually dies in 10+ years. At least Montek was honest with you. Can't wait to see your review on their final units btw. Also, Pecron still having DC burnout issues is also not inspiring. They have a history of that and really need to stop cutting corners on their DC stuff.
So many choices. So I DJ and have a pair of Evolve 30 Ms along with MacBook Pro and Mackie channel mixer. However when needed I do run a ham radio setup. This might be the one. It appears I can direct connect Ham radio but will it be clean enough?
I watched your video last night and I am considering getting this battery generator. My situation is that I live in FL where the potential for power outages is fairly high during the summer months however we can go many years with no outages. I have a dedicated 50a outlet that I can plug my gas/propane generator into using a 30/50 adaptor. I would want to use the gas generator during the daytime and the Perron in the evenings. So can I recharge the Perron with the gas generator by plugging it into a 110v on the generator or should I plug it into a wall outlet? Perhaps it does not matter? Thanks for your sound advice. JR
how do I become a protect tester? I would love a lab like yours. one question will it charge the battery at a spacial time of the day or night to save money from my power company.. just loved what I have learned. thanks....
So would you buy this to power your freezer full of food when you are told to evacuate because of hurricane? I live on Florida gulf coast and this year was back to back storms and I stayed to feed my gas powered generator. Also can you suggest solar panels to charge it up daily. If necessary? This is the first time seeing your channel and I enjoyed it. I am old and NOT techie or electrician. Thanks in advance. John
Just bought a 200L been thinking I should’ve waited for this. Full 30 amp from the 30 amp plug. And I think the 30 amp is bi directional where 200l is only discharge.
It’d be even nicer if this unit had 2-30amps so you could UPS pass through and charged your battery while being back up and running your camper. Even better run 30 amp out of your generator then just turn off your generator when your happy with the charge level and not have to move around plugs.
Do any of these larger power stations allow me to stop charging when the unit reaches 80% charge? Or maybe they all do? Thanks for all your great videos!
I guess to get around the AC charging while using 240v is to use AC to DC charging to mimic solar charging. The EG4 Chargeverter is what I am thinking of. Does anyone think this may work or if there are cheaper alternatives to charge this Pecron with a gas generator while utilizing the 240v power?
Dear professor, thanks for making me purchase ecoflow river 2 after watching your videos. However I wonder if you have plans to review wall mounted high frequency solar inverters without built-in batteries. I would love to see different things from you.
I was thinking of saving up for a Pecron but unfortunately they have 1 huge issue which i verified through e-mail with them . If you have a valid warranty claim past 30 days of ownership and the unit needs to be shipped back for repair or replacement you as the customer are responsible for the cost to ship to them . First issue is you need a special label from them as customers without proper certification cannot by law ship these power stations (which i also verified) . The cost of shipping a power station with how much these units weigh is huge . I asked a second company and they cover the cost of shipping with a valid warranty claim the whole warranty period .

Thanks for showing everything. The good and the bad.
I'm waiting for the 2.1 gigawatt Mr Fusion connector cable. Drastically reduces charge times. I heard Jackery is coming out with one.
My E3600LFP trips when I get past 1800 watts on one of the front plugs. It looks like yours runs well over 4000 watts.
With a big enough alternator you should be able to do two of the Pecron 500w alternator chargers.
I want to use that 30 amp d/c out, but I’m not familiar with XT60e-f
I am using XT60 solar connectors that came with my 3600lfp, I’m loving them! Much better than my barrel plug on my Bluetti EB240! I’m expecting my EP3000 expansion battery by Tuesday. I saw that it comes with some connectors that use that d/c out.
I’m disappointed that Pecron isn’t selling accessories for the 3600LFP on their website.
That's a nice unit for home owners, that could power my two refrigerators, emergency window unit, and most of my kitchen appliances.
My wife asked me who I’m gonna please with that little pecron?! I said me! I love my little pecron!
Yes, this is true....we have been running our e2000lfp (full 8kw system) (24-7-365 since late 2022)
and we have been running our e1500lfp (full 7.5kw system) (24-7-365 since late 2023)
all documented on videos on the channel since the beginning :)
We split the load for my workshop and they run it with 3,000 watts of solar panels :)
note: every company has pos and negs. but we have been happy with what we bought and received from pecron so far.
(We own almost their entire lineup now, from the e2000lfp forward, including the 500 watt car charger and we just ordered the e3600lfp last week)
Once we max out the e3600lfp with 4 batteries very soon, we will run the entire shop on that 15,360wh system and put the e200lfp (8.000wh) in our rv :)
P.S. I have no problem whipping out my pecron when I need it....Great, Thanks a lot hobotech, now you have me doing it as well.....LOL
^ That sounds so bad when I read this !!!!! HAHAHAHAHAA !!!!!
At over 3 kw could also potentially qualify for 30percent tax credit if meeting other requirements
You are the best, thanks for doing what you do.
Good Evening Tom ! Thank You. TAKE CARE..
Highly amusing, " ..for those who like really big Pecrons..."
Very great info and fantastic review. Thanks!!
Hey Professor, is that a new Peavey amp? Very nice little portable rig.
Screen bug. It's actually in Fahrenheit.
Love the detailed testing!
Thank you!!! I ordered mine for my motorhome. Amazing!
I can’t believe you double fisted your Pecron. Impressive. Nice reviews.
Great bang for your buck compared to the big brands
This is a bulked up bluetti but want longer term reliability however the ac300 needs a separate battery
Bummer. I've been going back and forth between this 1 and the Dabbsson 3500. Looks like I'll go with the Dabbsson. Thanks!!!
That brand is a joke.
@HOBOTECH Dabbsson is no good??? Thanks in advance. Much appreciated!
No joke!
thank you for the failure info looking forward to the update
Thank you very much. I've been wanting solid info on this. I have an e2000 with 2 batteries but the 30 Amp inverter would make a huuuge difference. I can put the e2000 innthe shop and be 100% off grid.
Good value but I’m partial to Bluetti for their performance and Ecoflow for their customer support
Thumbs up 👍 for testing this out.
Thats the rate at 1700w with the AC cable only.
Looks like they have changed the connectors for solar input charging from my older E2000LFP version. Best deal for me is probably just a second E2000.
Hello, after hurricane Milton, I have been looking at solar generator. I'm considering purchasing a qty of 2 Pecron E3600LFP & 8 Pecron EP3000. Can this configuration hook up to a transfer switch to my home breaker box?
yes , and shoot , with that whole full system if you added the 2400 watts of solar panels, you could technically go off the grid with your whole house
he certainly has a way with words
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
PH, Dang I was all over that until I saw no 24vdc for my ZB!
Hopefully units like this will motivate Bluetti to lower their prices.💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
John
Get the panels they recommend if you're not sure.
Just bought a 200L been thinking I should’ve waited for this. Full 30 amp from the 30 amp plug. And I think the 30 amp is bi directional where 200l is only discharge.
Yeah spoke too fast of course you cover it
It’d be even nicer if this unit had 2-30amps so you could UPS pass through and charged your battery while being back up and running your camper. Even better run 30 amp out of your generator then just turn off your generator when your happy with the charge level and not have to move around plugs.
U R having 2 much fun playing with your Pecron, Hobo!
Compared to my smal Pecron e600 you should get at least 7 hours of 5000 btu ac without solar.
is it 240v and 60amps combined? would you be able to wire a circuit panel using a 60amps breaker for the 240v line?
Do any of these larger power stations allow me to stop charging when the unit reaches 80% charge? Or maybe they all do? Thanks for all your great videos!
The major brands offer that feature.
Would love you to do speaker and emp test 5ft away 99% interference is up close
I guess to get around the AC charging while using 240v is to use AC to DC charging to mimic solar charging. The EG4 Chargeverter is what I am thinking of. Does anyone think this may work or if there are cheaper alternatives to charge this Pecron with a gas generator while utilizing the 240v power?
Ha ha ha, “whip out our Pecron’s”
Nice review.
Dear professor, thanks for making me purchase ecoflow river 2 after watching your videos. However I wonder if you have plans to review wall mounted high frequency solar inverters without built-in batteries. I would love to see different things from you.
Great video.
IM waiting for mine to ship
I was thinking of saving up for a Pecron but unfortunately they have 1 huge issue which i verified through e-mail with them . If you have a valid warranty claim past 30 days of ownership and the unit needs to be shipped back for repair or replacement you as the customer are responsible for the cost to ship to them . First issue is you need a special label from them as customers without proper certification cannot by law ship these power stations (which i also verified) . The cost of shipping a power station with how much these units weigh is huge . I asked a second company and they cover the cost of shipping with a valid warranty claim the whole warranty period .
Is that written anywhere?. If not that's when you do a charge back on your card.
What is your recommendation from everything you have tested?
Buy American.
I'm just here for the Pecron picts.
Great Video. If I bought 2 of these could I eventually use them as part of a Hybrid system and connect to my main panels?
Your solar array needs to be within the solar input voltage range.
I've never seen such a hand gesture for things that hook together.
So the question I want to know is can you have all the expansion batteries and the two main units running 240 watts.
Yes
Wow just 2100$ Canadian. Too bad its not available in Canada yet. Im sure the price will go up too by then. Fingers crossed for ≤2500$.
What is the maximum length of the battery interconnects (center to center) ? And what's the deal w/ XT60E, won't XT60 work?
lol gotta agree the name is cool..
you can just hear "50% more powa with pecron!"
Great intro sfx!!
I've said it over and over the wireless cell phone charging should be on a circuit by itself.
Is it feasible to use UPS pass thru charging while hooked up to shorepower/pedestal to power the RV and charge the 3600 plus expansion batteries?
thank you for your solid review. As I am new to figuring out solar back up (primarily for home refrig/freezer and large chest free serduring power outage. I checked out your store link - and am looking at Renogy solar panels which I assume you would not link unless they work with the Pecron E3600. Looking at prime deals - is this compatible: Renogy 400W Lightweight Portable Solar Suitcase? I appreciate your help.
If you watch my latest videos about volts, amps, and watts, you'll figure it out.
Great review! Always fingers his cigarette lighter sockets. LMAO. 4:33.
😂🤣Whip out out Pectron….got a real laugh😂🤣😂🤣😂
