As long as it doesn't leak out and it tank deteriorate comma it has an unlimited shielf life. Gasoline, especially modern guests and with ethanol, should usually be used up in no more than 6-8 months Or have expensive additives putting in to stabilize it such as old school sta-bil. Also the exhaust is extremely clean from propane compared to that of gasoline @TheChadSmithPodcast

Bob, I absolutely agree that Propane is the way to go - you can keep it 10 years and it won't "go bad", not so with gasoline. Generator maintenance is SO easy if you dedicate it to propane only and stick with it. You will never have to worry about it "gumming up" on you. This is true on the road or trying to maintain a bit of preparedness in a house.

I run a generator full time I don't have City I'm disconnected about 3 and 1/2 hours to 3 1/2 hours there sometimes to get everything cold in the refrigerator I'll run it all night so I'm getting 36 hours out of 5 gallons that's not so with propane I'm only going to get about 28 hours out of a 30 lb keg of propane the part about it being a sensible stable is indeed a fact I cook with propane regularly the part about being able to charge a battery like that that's pretty badass it's something I've been looking into doing but I just don't have the space for all that

Great video, dual fuel is always great. Have you seen the new solid state battery generators? Yoshino power makes one that has a 30 amp output with an RV plug outlet. The Ecoflow generator you have is only 1800 watts (30 amp x 120 volts= 3600 watts that is why it doesn't have a 30 amp output).

That echo flow set up those things are huge. It takes up a lot of space people I would think of course would have to set it on a tray or something off their back hitch because wow those are big I have generator that has I think about 65 dB but it’s too loud for me. I can’t imagine having that running all the time I wouldn’t think people would want to be hearing it And it’s a Jen. I think it’s a general flow and it’s dual fuel. It is a hassle trying to find a place to fill up propane. I tend to use more gas than the propane, but you’re right about the gas. I sure you know don’t like smelling it, but it is easier to find a gas station even if they don’t sell propane so I think the dual fuel is a good idea. I think I’m going to buy a Honda EU 3000 generator I’m gonna be 69 shortly. My hands are really challenged for picking up heavy things so I have to keep that in mind how heavy these things are thanks for your videos. I watch them all the time they’re very informative. Thank you so much. I hope to see you down in court at some point I am at a river, real close to Mount Rainier being a caretaker of a cabin retreat cabins are 100 years old. I’ll be doing this through the end of September and then hopefully be heading down to Arizona for the winter that would be great in my class C 24 that I renovated.

Another great topic \ product\ video thanks for sharing. I think youtube is helping brands get a true pulse on the consumers needs. EcoFlow and Bluetti seem to be IMO from what I seeing top 2 brands. I have not purchased yet as I still think cost to value is not there yet. Which is why I stopped following Goal Zero stuff. Considering how often you need to actually change oil and do other maintenance on small engines. I would probably buy 3 of the pulsars. This way while you service 1 you have another to use in it's place. OR if it happens to break down you have another to use and still have 2 to use in rotation. I would prefer the ecoflow but, again the cost. IMO owning 3 of the Pulsar is a more piece of mind. Living off grid and stuff goes out isn't a trip to store so easy to get it fixed.

A great video as always Bob. This is the kind of set-up I’ve been considering when I realized that the solar generator remains the central force in the system. The dual charging feature is fantastic. Two 200 watt portable folding solar panels and a dual fuel generator would be my set up choice.
I’m also thinking about converting my AGM battery to a 100Ah LiFePO 4 battery setup. That combined with the solar generator and dual fuel system would keep me going strong electrically.

I think there might be some savings and propane costs with the EcoFlow because it’s a more efficient situation where the solar works together with the generator and when the generator is running, it’s very efficient because it’s using every ounce of power. I suspect there could be a 30 or 40% savings and propane.

The best and worst part is it’s a DC generator.
No conversion is more efficient but it’s only dc so it’s a single purpose item.

Thanks for this, Bob! I am team EcoFlow ... I do have my Delta Max for sale as I did upgrade to Delta 2 for the longer/safer battery. I actually bought the bundle of Delta2 and their new DC to DC Alternator Charger (800 Watt output). I also have River2 Pro, Wave 2 AC with external battery, Glacier Frig/Freezer with battery .... so the DC to DC gives me a lot of flexibility in a smaller package albeit not as fast as the 1800 Watt output gen. And you don't have to hook up the alternator charger to a vehicle, it can be used from a battery like the PowerQueen (Hobotech channel has a great review/demo). As you said, all of the EcoFlow items are expensive. I have purchased kickstarter, EcoFlow bundles and PrimeDay/Holiday specials. I do not fulltime but I live in a small house in rural (semi-rural) NW Montana and the EcoFlow items allow for flexibility between house and RV. As you noted, the App is GREAT providing visibility and control of all devices.

The beautiful thing about the dual fuel generator from ecoflow is that I'll charge with DC to DC, which is very efficient compared to normal generators that only output AC.
Charging your solar generators with AC requies a loss because it needs to be converted to DC first. Where the DC to DC there's no loss in charging.

This is great. Electric cars have done this for a long time so it should be easily transitioned to vandwelling. I'm just waiting for someone to figure out how to incorporate those on-demand hot/cold water pumps that heat floors into Vanlife. If one were smart they could essentially have the roof, floor and walls of their vehicle wrapped in hoses to run hot/cold water through, negating whatever weather they encounter. Couple that with automatic battery recharge via propane -> generator -> power station. You're starting to get into sci-fi territory as far as vanlife goes. And it sounds completely possible.

This looks like the best of both worlds and a move away from gasoline. I agree that I wouldn't want to carry even 5 gallons as a back up due to the risks involved. One question about propane operations, though. That would mean only outdoor use while it's running on propane? I'm sure it would need to be vented due to CO emissions. Thanks for all the clear information and guidance.

I agree, propane is way better than gas. You're probably caring a tank already for your stove and BBQ. I just want to be able to run a blow dryer and air fryer. So far doing okay with fans but then have the option for AC. I would go with a Pulsar or Champion and save the money.

I know you have to get everything in frame but I don’t like that exhaust facing the propane tank. Yes they have spark arresters but there’s always a risk.

Bob, one of the ads rolling on your videos is for Breezy Comforts a small evaporative cooler. I usually hit skip as soon as I can, but today I watched it. I know you have done some videos on this topic (AC) in the past. Have you ever checked that product out? I saw one for 50$ on Amazon. It won't work for me in the midwest because of the humidity, but in the Southwest or west where it is more arid it might be something workable for those who need relief from the heat. The lone amazon review was to not buy because it was an evaporative cooler/swamp cooler. I grew up with a swamp cooler in AZ. I know they work there. Anyway off topic, but you mentioned your friend using her Pulsar dual fuel generator and combined with the ad it made me wonder if this was a relatively inexpensive option for those of us who just can't tolerate the heat anymore.

Delta Max does NOT die at 800 cycles with NCM batteries. Its battery capacity is reduced to 80% of original capacity .
You will NOT get 1800 watts running on LPG. 1800 is max on gasoline. You will likely get about 1550 to 1600 watts MAX on LPG.

Do you have to use app to control them. What if service was out/ emp or other. It should have a manual system for them both.

It might be a bit expensive, but it's really only a bit more expensive than a comparable Honda EU2200 generator (~$1100), which isn't dual fuel and doesn't seamlessly integrate into the battery/inverter system. Having a generator that will auto start to charge the battery system when they get low is pretty invaluable. If you don't let your batteries go below 20% they will last longer. There's probably a "solar charging priority" setting so it will use solar to charge first and only use the generator if solar isn't available (night/dark clouds).

We need tips and tricks for overwhelmed women alone, ie how to manage so many large and complicated devices. 🌼
