    Heelp!!! Whenever i try to cut my gimpab it falls apart... can anyone help me with this????

      When rolling kimbap, you need to roll it tightly so it doesn't fall apart. Also, if you use a sharp knife and wipe it with a wet cloth while cutting, it will cut well.

      Maangchi i need help, i have seen in k dramas, that people eat roasted pig skin, how is that called in korean? i try to look it up on google but it doesnt show a thing beside samgyeopsal and jokbal PLEASE HELP ME TnT

    Maangchi! I always love your videos. I started watching you 10 years ago (2012) when I first moved to South Korea to teach English to elementary school students. I didn't know how to make any Korean food, and there wasn't a lot of foreign foods available in my small city, Pohang. Because of you I learned to make dishes and eat well.
    Now, it is 2022, I am still living in Korea and I still look forward to every video. You taught me how to make so many delicious Korean foods. I want to say, "Thank you 💗" from my heart!

    I found out from a DNA test that I have Korean ancestry, and when I searched for Korean cuisine, Gimbap came up. The tuna Gimbap you made looks so delicious! I never had Gimbap before, but I so want to try it after seeing your video!😊

      @@Maangchi Thanks! Yeah, since I found out I have Korean ancestry, (and since my mom found out she has Korean ancestry according to Wegene), I really became interested in Gimbap, and I bought 2 Hanbok outfits as well. 😇

    Happy Mother's Day 🏵️ Maangchi! My daughter and I did just as you said. Made these last night to take on a picnic today! My grocery stores don't carry danmuji so I used pickle instead. These were so delicious, I couldn't stop eating them! The tuna and sesame oil combination is so irresistible, I may make tuna like this and pack in rice for rice balls! Thanks for this recipe ♥️

    와 엄청 맛있겠어요! 참치 마요네즈 깻잎을 사용한 평범한 참치김밥을 예상했는데 참치를 조리하고 아보카도를 사용한 참치김밥이라니! 이건 무조건 맛있을 것 같아요. 공부가 됬어요. 이번 연휴에 만들어 먹어 볼게요. 댓글은 자주 달지 않지만 늘 재미있게 보고 있고 응원하고 있어요. 건강하시고 다른 요리도 기대하겠습니다.

    I have made the exact same dish for years, ever since I saw your triangle gimbap video many years ago. I don't have any triangle molds, so I just rolled them like maki sushi roles
    When I don't have time or energy, I just arrange rice, vegetables, and stir fried tuna in a bowl like a salad and eat 😂
    This tuna recipe saved me as a student

    I Love This!! I remember the original video back i 2007!! Tuna Powder was and is my Favorite Filling for Gimbap! I Have learned so much from Maangchi's videos over the years!! Chamchi is Tuna. Jeon is pancake. I Love Chamchi jeon too!!!!

    Years ago one of my friends taught me an easy way to cut avocado. Instead of cutting it in half and trying to get the pit out with a knife just cut it into 4ths instead, I don't trust myself to get an avocado pit out with a knife & not slice open my hand. The skin will peel right off, like a banana (if it is ripe) and any strange spots are easy to remove too. The 4ths would be easy to cut for your gimbap too. This feels so much safer I am surprised more people do not use this way.

    한국에선 보통 밥은 식초말고 참기름 소금으로 밑간하고 참치김밥은 마요네즈를 넣거나 깻잎이들어가는데 아보카도가 들어가고 캘리포니아롤 느낌도 드네요 외국인들에겐 더 익숙한 맛 이겠어요

    5월에 김밥이라니 딱이네요..! 솔직히 김밥은 말기전에 흰쌀밥에 맛소금 그리고 참기름 뿌려서 엄마옆에서 한두알 얻어먹는 주먹밥이...최고!!!!!!
    근데 레시피는 신기하네요 보통 참치마요에 깻잎넣지않나욤,,,

    Good gimbap I added some sesame oil to the rice as well to get an added seasoned oil flavor that I love , we had heated floors when I was growing up in Korea,but I never new you could use it like the way you did ,I know I didn't see my mom use it like that

    I'm totally making this! My friend is interested in going to Japan, but she's not super familiar with Japanese food, and isn't so much a fan of raw fish. So I told her I would make her kimbap! Imo it's much more accessible for picky pallets because it doesn't focus on raw fish, and the flavors are more subtle than American sushi rolls. She's excited to try it once I told her about the flavors. I reccomend anyone with friends who aren't sure about Asian food to make kimbap for their friends and help them explore all the variety there is. Samgak kimbap is great to take on picnics and hikes! As always, maangchi, tanks for your great videoes and easy to follow videoes!

    Maangchi, if I may make a suggestion... There are only so many Korean recipes to do videos of. What I would love to see are videos of you talking about your childhood in Korea, your grandma and mother's recipes, ingredients which were available then, cooking conditions, social conditions, Americanization, how you left Korea and moved to America, your impressions of America, your impressions of how Korea and Korean society have changed. Having watched your videos for years, I think this would be the natural next chapter in the path of Maangchi. All the best.

    Gimbap was the first kind of sushi I ever had (years ago.) I ate a piece and it was "where's THIS been my whole life!" Still love it and since it's cooked, not difficult to make at home.

    I learned how to make gimbap from your videos, Maangchi. My first ever gimbap was the dakgogi gimbap, and I loved it. It was so good. I would never forget how wonky my first roll was, lol. But after a few more rolls, I got the hang of it. I got to share it with other college friends and they liked it too! And I also saw the old tuna gimbap video, and did that the next day. It was also a hit, my friends loved it, and I now plan to make it for my family once I get back home after this semester. Thank you for this recipe! 💖

    I just made it. Half with sushi rice half with wholegrain basmati (mixed together the two kinds) and for filling the tuna with cucumber, crabsticks, mayo and green onion... 😋 👌

    I would love to see you do a keto diet friendly main dish, although I’m sure you’ve done many unknowingly, like kimchi. Maybe some pork and vegetable recipe?
