Thank you so much maangchi! This was one of my favorite things I had in meongdong when I lived in Korea and I’ve been waiting for years for you to show me how to make this!
When I watched Korean street food, this corn dogs was my favourite, they’re so yummy. I went to Costco in England, and I bought corn dogs one box from freezer, I was so excited to try them, but when I tried I was very disappointed, horrible I put them in the bin, never buy them again. I want to try my own, thank you for recipe 👍

@@---sm6ve It's an option whether you're going to sprinkle sugar or not in Korea. Once you've made a hot dog, try it without sugar, then try it with sugar.
This looks so good. I'm glad that there's no egg in the recipe(I can't have egg). All I need to do is cover the Lightlife(or Beyond) sausages and enjoy a good Korean corndog without feeling guilty
Thanknyou for sharing. Been watching your videos for years now. I do enjoy your recipes. Your presentation and techniques/tips. Thanknyou God bless you
When she added the sugar I had to chuckle because I know a lot of people will think that coating potato in sugar is weird, but they'd readily use ketchup which is super sugary. Personally I'd cover it in hot sauce :D
Might sound weird but I always wave back at you at every intro/outro of your videos (anyone else with me on this?.. lol) It has become a habit I can't quit.. 😂 Love you Maangchi ❤️

I tried Korean corn dog & pretzel a couple of times before, i wasn't satisfied with mine, but this video was helpful and i cooked my corn dog and pretzel successfully. Thanks.
@@fathfez7991 I think this is the Korean take on an American corn dog. However in Korea they are sweet and usually have other fillings besides meat, unlike the US where most corn dogs just have the cornmeal breading and a hot dog in it. Kind of plain and boring, I like the Korean version better.
Maangchi, this makes me homesick for Seoul. I will try this recipe, and since the dough doesn't require any milk or eggs, I think I can veganize this recipe pretty easily so that my boyfriend can try it! I'm always trying to show him different Korean dishes, because he's been so limited to what he can try (in restaurants) since he is vegan. Thank you for this video!

Merci beaucoup pour vos recettes si bien réalisées! Et vos vidéos aussi je vous adore. J'adore la cuisine coréenne...
watching Maangchi reminds me of cooking with my mom. 💕 it brings me comfort when i can’t see her during the pandemic. thank you for bringing me joy Maanchi! :)
Thank you so much maangchi! This was one of my favorite things I had in meongdong when I lived in Korea and I’ve been waiting for years for you to show me how to make this!
These were crazy delicious! Thank you!
👍
Can't wait to make them!
Fabulous. Thank you. I love all your recipes. You are so fun to watch too
My 12 years old daughter made this today. She likes the result, she said the bread is soft and yummy. The instructions is easy to follow. It will be repeated again for sure. Thank you for the recipe 😍😍😍.
I love Korean street foods. I love French fried corn dogs. It’s one of my favorite.
I just tried your recipe but without the potatoes and it’s delicious!!!! Definitely so simple and soo good!
👏
in Korea without potato hotdog is common
@@sk.p4885 is it good with the sugar or does it taste “weird”? I wanna make them tmw without the potatoes and half sausage half cheese
Lightlife(or Beyond) sausages must be vegan sausages. Great!
I made some with lightlife hotdogs and they were so good!!
Thanknyou for sharing. Been watching your videos for years now. I do enjoy your recipes. Your presentation and techniques/tips. Thanknyou God bless you
❤️
This might be the cutest cooking video I’ve ever seen.
When she added the sugar I had to chuckle because I know a lot of people will think that coating potato in sugar is weird, but they'd readily use ketchup which is super sugary. Personally I'd cover it in hot sauce :D
I like the sugar maybe not the ketchup
@@onetouti I would definitely try it, but it's not what I was expecting as the final coating.
@@Lady-Lilith spicy ketchup ?
@@onetouti Oooh, or spicey korean bbq?
Yes to hot sauce or even rooster sauce (aka siracha)!
This Korean style corn dog is insanely delicious. 망치 아주머니 역시 이번에도 너무 완벽하게 만드셨네요. 보는 내내 입에 군침이 돌아서 혼났습니다.
감사합니다! 한국어자막 올렸어요!
Might sound weird but I always wave back at you at every intro/outro of your videos (anyone else with me on this?.. lol) It has become a habit I can't quit.. 😂 Love you Maangchi ❤️
😄
Hi from germany! Gonna make this today! And I just wanna say, you are verrrry sympathetic! Thank you for the recipe! 😍
Every time I watch what you do I smile wide open during the whole video. 😄
I really enjoy every single video of yours! Thanks for the happiness you spread! ☺️✨🫰🏼
Thanks for your kind words! 👍
@@Maangchi My pleasure! ☺
The best corn dog I ever ate!!! Thanks!!! You are the best!!!!
👏
I tried Korean corn dog & pretzel a couple of times before, i wasn't satisfied with mine, but this video was helpful and i cooked my corn dog and pretzel successfully. Thanks.
👏
OH YES!! I needed this video right now! Love you, we need another cookbook! 💖💖💖💖
Isn't this recipe is like International recipe? Someone in Europe or America modified the original corndog with potato and other more toppings.
I just made this today and OMG it’s so good! Everyone loved it. Thank you so much for the recipe Maangchi!❤️❤️
So glad!
Yesss this is the video I was waiting for! I love korean corn dogs so much, they are the best street food. Great video, you are the cutest 💖
yummy gamza hotdog!
MAANGCHI is a mind reader! How does she know we are looking for this recipe in covid-19 season? 😅 I really appreciate the recipe. Now I'm happy to be at work and home with korean hotdogs while avoiding people like the plague. Thank you. Thank you. 😭♥️
These were delicious! Decided to try to make them gluten-free with a 1:1 AP flour and it worked perfectly! I made them with my son and we had a lot of fun! Husband thought I was crazy for sprinkling sugar and salt on them, but he enjoyed them, too! Thank you for such a great recipe. 🥰
"Decided to try to make them gluten-free with a 1:1 AP flour and it worked perfectly!" Thank you for letting me know about it! Happy cooking!
I love her recipes she makes it so easy and yet delicious, she's brilliant

Ben what's this?
Ben I would prefer not to 😏
Ben that's why I'm not watching it cuz it's UP TO ME 😏 you think I believe you? Who knows what's the link? What will happen if I click or NOT 🤷🏻♀️ your profile is Chaneyeol, and you made the account on 22 October 2020. I don't know if you replied that in my comment cuz my profile is related to BTS, or you just made that profile out of no where for yourself to distract others BUT please don't think that we are dumb. You think you reply to a comment without saying anything and they will just enter? LOL even if it's something bad or right, leave me alone ✋ and now 👋🏻
wow- i love to make this for my sons- i have to watch 3 times b4 i started bc i am kinda slow when it comes to cooking..lol- thank you so much Maangchi. you are awesome.
Good luck! Hope your sons love your gamja hot-dog! : )
Hi for some reason the potatoes kept falling off before they could be fried, floured the potatoes, made smaller ones as well, same problem. But some did stick. And yes they tasted wonderful. Any idea why they wouldn’t stick? Thank you love all your recipes.x
I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed it. 👏
After rolling it in the potato bits, pack them into the batter with your hands, until they stick. Then roll it in the breadcrumbs until it’s completely covered before dropping it into the hot oil. www.maangchi.com/recipe/gamja-hotdog
@@Maangchi wow didn’t expect you to rely thank you so much. Going to try again with help as I’m disabled with cerebral palsy and well during me cleaning up I collapsed, luckily I had taken the oil off the stove so everything was safe. I have an emergency buzzer round my my neck so people came to help me off the floor. I must have looked funny with flour and potatoes all over me lol, I fell on my bottom so nothing broken. it’s rather black &yellow at the moment lol. Made me even more determined to try again. 고잡니다 Maangochi, I’m learning Korean slowly beautiful language xx
Mam, thank you so much. Your recipe is so simple and potato cubes coating is so beautyfull and crunchy look
